Looking for a decent pair of wellies for fishing and getting out with the kids. Want something a little more substantial than the good old Dunlop's...

Navitas Lite. Very lightweight but very warm and comfortable to wear. As they are so light they are comfortable to walk around in and wear for long periods as well

I got some percussion neoprene lined from ebay. V good so far.

I had some of those. Watch out for heel piece inside, mine came away so everytime I put them on it rolled down. Returned under warranty and replaced with a pair of Aigles which have begun to perish where they crease when walking. Just picked up a pair of Grubs for £40, they're ok for that price but wouldn't pay the normal retail for them.

I cannot rate my Aigle Parcours Open enough I've had various different brands of wellies from cheap to expensive over the years for fishing and hunting and wouldn't consider anything else after these, warm, comfortable and easy as to get on and off.

Muck boots , muckmasters every time , like wearing slippers , they do have a soft sole so if you're not always on soft ground they do wear quickly, but very good

I wear a pair of aigle wellies everyday while walking the dog as does my wife and they are superb. Not cheap but they are so comfy and last for ages. Stay away from hunters there crap way overpriced and live of there name these days.
I've just got some Skellerup quatro sport wellies for Christmas, wear them every day for dog walking and usually for shooting. First impression are very good, nice and comfy neoprene lined. Heard good reports on them being really hard wearing,not cheap but less expensive than the top brands.
For the last few years i have alternated between a pair of grubs speyline and aigle percours and i wear everyday for dog walking .and both pairs are still going strong.
I needed to replace my old tay muckboots (now called muckmaster)last year i did think of another pair but going off recent reviews of how they were made in china decided against getting another pair.
I opted for aigle parcours 2 iso and have worn for walking the dog for 6 mile plus walks most days through spring autumn and winter i have been very impressed with them they are comfier than my muckboots and have a better grip, The only negative i could give is they are a little tight around the ankle when getting off

I've just bought a pair of Pavers..compared to my Muckboots,Scrub ,shorties the grip is far better and the boots are only £48 quid deliverd..
I think they are very comfy with good grip.

Muck Boot's for me. Had mine for about 5 years now and still warm, dry and comfortable. They're a neoprene upper, so keep you warm and you can obviously be totally dry when walking in to shallow margins too.

Got the Aigle Parcours2 Open. Super warm and comfy but not cheap. Had mine for 3 years and I reckon about 1500 to 2000 miles walked on dog walks over that time. Still fine although the rubber has split on the outside but remains waterproof and nice to wear. Will get another pair when they properly die.

What ever you do don't buy Fencham neoprene wellies, the worst I've owned, its ok if you have calfs like tree trunks but if you have normal sized calves there really baggy.

I've got a pair of Le Chameau leather lined wellies I bought when I was shooting around 30 years ago. Apart from the zips that got seized up when I moved coastal and started shooting wildfowl and sea fishing and didn't apart from hosing down didn't think anymore than than that about the zips they are still comfy, warm, and waterproof.
Hunters are another excellent brand you won't go wrong with but will last less.
Get a decent pair of wellies and if you fishing, shooting etc they will with some care last a lifetime.

Emphasis on the good. Take some beating for the money imho. My only criticism is that the soles could be a little firmer to help on rough ground. I have Dunlops for warmer weather and Baffins for cold.
Suppose it's how much you want to pay, there are loads of options if you want somebody to take you money off you
Best wellies I used to get were from dad, he worked at the pit, NCB, national coal board, AKA no ****s bothered. They were bullet proof, proper thick and armoured with thick rubber around the ankles and shins. Try Arco etc?

Lol when I worked at pit had coal board wellies and waders. Bomb proof but had steel toe caps and were heavy. Bit of water in heading wellies needed deep waders. I actually use cheap wilko ones now and have no intention of swopping had neoprene too tight to put on. Bloody red hot and takes a age to dry. Wilko wellies and ocean waders..
