Been using tiger line on my lake for last few years and love the sinking qualities but this year on a new lake i need to fish a lot further out and its difficult casting flurocarbon especially in high winds. So looking for something to go on my spare spools,needs to be strong easy to cast and ideally sinking

Any recommendations?

A mate was watching me hit 150yards this week in a crosswind, 3.25lb rods, 3.5oz lead, 15mm boilie to 15lb Pro light.

A couple of casts across the field were properly measured when he asked how far I could cast

ESP Synchro XT is the best that I have used and it really does cover all situations I face (decent casting, very abrasion resistant, sinks well enough and behaves on the spool)

Done a bit of research seems the older esp line is a lot better than the newer stuff?

and Knowing what a dedicated company ESP is I would say its a load of b******* myself the only thing I would say is the Loaded version is a completely different line in most ways

I have just spooled up with 15lb syncro xt today and only bought the spool last week and its exactly the same as all the other spools ive bought. Cant fault the stuff, its brilliant line.

Sorry badly worded

I meant the loaded version (newer) isnt has highly rated as the normal version,seen a few comments saying loaded suffers badly with twist.

Synchro XT or good old GR60. Can't go wrong with either.

Used loads of different mono's over the years and thought I'd give Nash Bullet a try for the first time and I'm liking it

Another vote for syncro XT, add a touch of the gardner line treatment to it ever few sessions, and its an absolute game changer

I used to use synchro XT exclusively.. until i tried PB products control mono, which i now use because i think its a better line.

I used Daiwa Sensor for many years before swapping over to the ESP synchro XT which is a superb line. However, I struggled to get hold of some a little while back and ended up getting the Fox EOS in 20lb and I cannot fault it. Strong, amazing abrasion resistance, low diameter, nice colour and cheap at £9 a spool. I cannot see any reason to go back to the XT when this does exactly the same job and is half the price!

I guess like everyone Ive used loads of lines over the years. I was using GT-HD in 12lb that I very happy with, but a rule change meant that I had to stop using it. So I switched on to the Korda Touchdown for last season and I really dont like it at all. Im going to strip it off and was going to go back to the GT-HD but seeing as the SyncXT seems to be getting such good feedback, I might give that a go instead.

Does it break at around the stated amount? Is it over or under rated?
What does it behave like? Does it sink well, is it a casting line? etc
Whats it like for coiling once its been on a while?

I know nothing about it. Any help appreciated.

Brillaint line. I use 12 for almost all my fishing. Got the 12lb to 160 yards on 12ft rods with shock leaders. 15lb is bullet proof, defiantly breaks over the rated strain.

I've never had an issue or a bad batch. Casts and sinks well.

Thank you. I think I will give the 15lb a go.

Use TouchDown for most of my fishing (70yrds max. ), but when it comes to longer casting, forget it.

The 12lb syncro breaks at 15.75lb and the 15lb at 21.75lb according to the tackle box line tests

That's perfect. The waters I fish are very weedy, lots of bars and zebras. A bit of extra breaking strain never hurts!


Edit: I just had a quick look on Amazon. Some of the XT has green packaging and some is Black. Is there a difference in the product?

I've been using the 15lb version at Ashmead for years and never had an issue and I cannot imagine a weediest water. Landed fish through some very tense battles in the weed. Whilst I will never be a huge caster I can hit 120 yards with the 15lb straight through (not that I need to fish that distance but that's what I get when practicing my casting).

The black/orange packaging is the loaded version, the green packaging is the normal XT and is the better line

I am on Gardner HydroTuff in 15lb it's a. 0.38mm diameter very strong and abrasion resistant and casts reasonably well my water gets weedy so went for the 0.38mm
The 12lb version has a diameter of0.35mm so expect that to be a Bette long range line
