I've got a bigger one of those, can't remember the size, took it to France twice last year kept all my food cool for at least 5 / 6 days - I pack a few plastic milk containers with water and froze them to act as big ice packs, then drink the water, took a bit of bait with me in it, but tend to air dry it before I go and rehydtate - but a big thumbs up for the Icy-Tek expensive but you get what you pay for...

56 litre size...

Got the 25l version and love it, with one of their huge ice bricks at the top it stays FFFFFreezing for days on end.

The icy-tek 40l is one amazing cool box. I recently took it to a venue in the north west for three days, chucked in a frozen plastic bottle of milk, a £2 bag of ice a couple of frozen steaks, some salad and it was sat in the blazing sun for practically three days and it came home with ice still in the bag.

I recently upgraded from the Coleman X'treme and it was definitely worth the near £150 price tag. Would recommend one to everyone if you can push the boat a bit on your budget.

sorry my mistake ... i only got 10% off .... I had to change the "friend" discount code (as per Gerrys link) of 5% to the discount code that was emailed to me after i subscibed of 10% (EMAIL10) .... Best coolboxes out there by a country mile. Just about to head out for a 3 day session and the beer will be chilled!

Mine arrived today ... Excellent service ..... The quality is a level above the quality of my Igloo Maxcold (different price point tbf) .... but boy, even my 15litre size is a solid/heavy bit of kit (sign of its quality i guess) so perhaps not as portable as i had hoped but very pleased anyway

Soooo been using my cool box this week .... Feeling slightly under whelmed by its performance if honest ... I use it every day for cold water and my lunch.

My hope was to pack a couple of frozen water bottles (100ml size) on a Sunday evening and then add lunch/drinks each morning. I was hoping the water bottles might stay frozen for 3days (ice claim is 5 days) .

The problem is the frozen water bottles are virtually defrosted within 18hours (and this is without opening the box) .... Totally ice free by 24hours ..... For the price i really was hoping for better .... Can anyone compare longevity? .... Do i have a faulty one (bad seal maybe? ... though i cant see a fault) .... On this performance it seems very overpriced as ive had cool boxes a fraction of the price offer similar performance

That doesn't sound right. My cheapo trakker £50 green jobbie performs like that.

Coleman 50 QT Wheeled Xtreme Cool

3 bottles of frozen water and 2 icepack, cool box filled to the top, we always kept the cool box filled with towels the next days, the more filled the better the cooling remains, 72 hours fishing session during the day 30°C every 3 days

When we got home we still had ice on day 4 and on day 5 there was still ice in the cool box (box was left in the garage on day 4/5)

I really don't see the need to buy 2/3 x more expensive cool boxes than the Colemans

Also had a Dometic Cool Ice WCI 22 green which I sold after 1 session and decided to keep the Coleman extreme 26 marine in case I only go for 1 night sessions.

That doesn't sound anything like mine. I always put a frozen bottle of milk in a packet of frozen burgers, a large bag of ice with some salad and beers and mine always comes back with ice still in the box. It was even sat in the sun for days.

Got to be faulty.

The 15 litre one isnt made by icey tek its a different manufacturer so that could be why its not performing as well as the icey tek cool boxes. The smallest size icey tek do is 25 litres.

The 15l is the ICED picnic cooler, it's not an Iceytek. It's made for picnics and day trips, I would send it back and get the proper 25L Iceytek.

Ice at 5 degrees isn't ice, it's cold water, so the spec might well be correct.

I've got the 25l cube and always start with it packed to the brim, no spare space, even if it means frozen bottles of water to fill the gaps and food still frozen after 5 days, admittedly I only open once or twice a day but it is better than others I've owned in the past.
As commented on earlier the spec in 15l looks slightly different to that of the 25l, just call them and see what they say, in my brief experience with them they are accommodating and helpful on the customer service front.

Just popped on to the Cool Boxes UK site and the only 15l box I can see on there is this picnic box not made by icey tek.

The insulation on the inside of the box looks totally different to the bigger boxes too.

To be fair I think what you have here if this is yours, is a picnic cool box for the beach. Its not the same as the other boxes. If I were you I'd return it and go up to the 25L box

Just get in touch with them and swap it for the 25l icey tec, they are very helpful. Be aware though the 25l icey tec is very bulky for a 25l cool box which is why i sold mine and got the yeti roadie 24 as its narrower but taller so goes behind the car seat and also has a carry handle.

Icy-Tek 25 spec states "Holds ice below 5 degrees Celsius for 163 hours / 6.8 days"

Iced 15 spec states "Holds ice below 5 degrees Celsius for 124.5 hours / 5.2 days"

This would suggest they are on a level (give or take a day)

ok ... just spoken with Cool Box UK .... Apparantly they very occasionally get this issue and put it down to user (not sure how a user can get it wrong tbh) .... I asked if Iced brand is inferior to Icy-Tek and the Icy-Tek may have marginally more insulation but it really is minimal difference. Im going to try one more time ... if no joy will return it

Thought the 15lt was just a rebadged product very similar to one sold by loads of different companies, always loads on the bay around the £75 mark but have seen them as low as £55.

As goose says sounds like an inferior rebadged box to me. I doubt it will ever meet your expectations or match how a pukka icey-tek box will perform. I'd be sending it right back if I were you and get one of the propper branded jobbies.

In which case neither are guaranteeing frozen ice for any length of time and if that's what you're after then specs mean nothing.

Many can tell you that when used properly the Iceytek will keep ice frozen for days on end. That ICED box appears to be an £80 cool box with a £55 sticker. I would send it back and get the real thing.

Holds ice below 5 degrees Celsius for 124.5 hours / 5.2 days, is not the same as keep ice pack/frozen water bottles frozen for 5 days...

15L is not alot space for ice blocks/cooling elements, you will not find 1 cool box under 15 liters that will keep ice frozen for 2/3 days if you don't fill it for 50% with ice.

I use 4 FOX Aquos Freezes Packs + 2 frozen water bottles and 1.5 kg frozen ice blocks this keep my food/drinks 2 days very cool in my 26l Coleman marine Extreme, on day 3 all ice is gone but the water is still cool.

The Coleman 50 box that had still some frozen ice blocks on day 5 was with 8 FOX Aquos Freezes Packs, 3 kg ice blocks and 6 frozen 1.5l bottles,

You're going to struggle to get a box so small that will keep stuff frozen for very long. I have a small igloo which is around 15l and it's good for 24 hours max, and that's only if it's not overly hot outside. As said you'd be better off getting a slightly larger 25l icytek or similar

Some good points made with regards size and capability of holding enough ice/frozen to be effective long term .

The same did cross my mind (was i asking too much of it? ... even at the price) so yesterday at midday and a last attempt to want to keep it, I put in 4 x 500ml frozen water bottles (instead of 2) and left for 24hrs .... Upon opening today this has improved things significantly .... after 24hours they were still half frozen and more importantly inside the box felt fridge like cold ... I was going to return it today but it has redeemed itself slightly so I am going to try for another week and see how it goes.

I really want to like this and i cant see how it can be "faulty" as there isnt anything to be faulty. Going bigger in size isnt suitable for what i need it for (and i already have a Igloo Maxcold 50 in the garage). I also like the divider and baskets it comes with as very handy in seperating contents.

However, even if it does redeem itself I cant help feeling its waaaaay over priced, as the unbranded copies on eBAY confirms .... and even these at £80 is pricey imo ... (i paid £112 (discounted from £125) for the branded ICE version ).
The claims in the specification are unrealistic unless you fill it with ONLY ice, and it is ridiculously heavy for a small cool box so wouldnt call it particularly portable either (ok for my needs as it will live in my van) ... so for a cool box this size I would struggle to recommend over a standard unbranded cool box or even a bag! ..... On a plus side its a great size for a seat box!!

I sent luke who owns coolboxes uk an email regarding the 15 litre one and showed him the one on ebay and he responded with the reply below, which I thought was a very honest reply as his shipping costs to get them sent over must be ridiculous these days.

Hi Stuart, it does look very similar (apart from the 2 x gel packs, 2 x baskets and divider. They are almost factory prices and, after a little digging, the company directors are all Chinese so I'm wondering if they are getting them direct from the factory? Either way it's a good price and not one I could match and still survive on.

Yes the bigger the cool box the cooler it will be as you can get more freezer packs in to keep the temp down. The problem us finding a happy medium where the cool box isnt to big to transport.

Luke seemed a reasonable guy when i spoke with him ... I have no axe to grind with him ... I wouldnt return the ICED version because i can buy cheaper copy off eBAY ( i should of done my research) but i will look to return it if it doesnt perform what i would consider basic functions for a sensible period of time ... but now hoping it wont come to that

Didn't Kev Ellis wrap his cool box in some sort of insulation in one of his vids ? I think bespoke angling supplies now make them so even tho it's more money to shell out it could also be a solution maybe

I paid £148 for the pukka 40L ICEY-TEK granted with a 15% discount. I do think that if you are splashing out the kind of money that you have around £120 then really you are not getting value for money out of something that barely retains ice for 24 hours or thereabouts.

I am over the moon with the 40L box, yes its bigger and chunkier than my 26L Coleman box but the performance is so much better and while the cost was a factor it is built very well and I know I will get so much use out of over the coming years from trips in the UK to trips in Europe.

Definitely a good tip the pre-cooling of the box, I haven't done this before but I will be in future by adding some cool blocks because the insultation inside looks like it is made from the same material as the Icey Tek gel packs.

When I was doing loads of 2 to 4 week trips in France a thing I always did was take an old bath towel
((it weighs sod all when dry !))

and on the boiling hot 30c plus days I used to drop it in the lake and drape it soaking wet over the cool box when it dried about 3 to 4 hours just repeat it

and every 3rd or 4th day when I went to do a food run to the big supermarkets just picked up a couple of bags of ice I have kept bait frozen for 3 weeks this way in my Coleman Extreme I used to use

I have the yeti roadie, i pre chill it with 1 frozen bottle of water the evening before I intend using it. bag of ice in the bottom with food drink on top. most I've used it was 5 days and still ice in it.

So after another week of using the 15litre Iced cool box i feel it only fair to update -

I doubled the frozen items which now included 2 x Ice Packs (supplied) and 4 x 500ml frozen waters.

I added 2 bottles of 750ml unfrozen drinking water and a basic sandwich type lunch.

I have to say there was a marked improvement .... I managed to get 48hrs of ice/fridge cold and by 60hrs it was still cool, if not ice cold. If i packed with loose ice im guessing performance will improve again. This feels a much better result ..... downside is by the time you pack enough ice/frozen items it leaves very limited space for non-frozen goods .... but enough for a lunch or so .... Its always going to be a balance/compromise and Im relatively happy with that for what i need it for ... even though the price irks a little

I was looking at the 25ltr version of the Icey tek . Although the dimensions are on the website I wondered whether anyone who has this size can give me an idea of the amount of items they get in theirs . The 40ltr I'm pretty sure would be too big . Also are there any current offers , thanks ?

Just reading through this are we saying the 'rogue / clone' IceyTek is the 18L smallest version? (previous post refers to a 15L clone variant - is this a different / now discontinued bit of kit?)

The 18L is the one I'm interested in as a step up from my SpankMonkey Coolabox Compact 12L which is fine for 24hrs but struggles over 48 in warmer weather . . .
