I fished Friday night. Ended up sleeping under the stars.as it was so hot. I don't do it very often. I shold do it more often. But I seem to always take a bivvy and use it when I really don't need to. I love not using a brolly or bivvy for an over nighters. But never seem to do it. How many of you guys do it
Not this time of year, I'm a magnet for mozzies so the brolly goes up with all mozzie screened windows open and a full mozzie infil..

I was never bad for getting mossie bites. Use to get the od 1 or 2 but neither anything to moan about. But the had a year where thay just wonted to eat me alive. Don't no if it its the tablets I'm on or so. Now I have to have the sprays and coils and so on. Think I got eating 4 times Friday night

I fished a couple of nights last week without bothering to set up the brolly.
Left work at 9, drove home, loaded the car then fishing by 11pm. No need to set up any shelter as no rain was forecast.
Only problem was during the day, the only shade was the rushes and long grasses on the bank, so I made a nest for Sky to keep out of the sun.

No I'm scared of top hats, when I was younger I went tenching all night in a chair with a float that had a light in, enyway fell asleep rats were fukin everywhere and the float was in the pads, and my line was missing

I rarely use a broliy in summer for overnights. Arrive at 9pm and off by 5am, I'm lucky so far that the mozzies leave me alone.

Depends on the venue to be fair, i'd tend not to on an open qccess day venue but if its a private syndi then id be more inclined to.

Done it a number of times when the weathers really hot, cant beat it, looking at all the stars at night, i do have to light a citronella candle though to keep the mozzies at bay!

Can't really do it for privacy reasons where I fish as anglers barrow passes behind.
But with a Tempest 100t Brolly , vents open and your bed pulled forward you can see plenty of sky. It's lovely.

Stupid statement from me and I would always go with the best shelter available but it is nice to have an open front on a fine evening, makes you feel alive
I can remember the fox evolution coming out with the camo mesh front, I thought brilliant, and never owned one

Same here. Bloody gulls. With my Norse heritage I can get a sun tan in the rain in April. Certainly can't sit in the sun for more than a few minutes.

That was the hideout Scozza. I had one for a couple of years.
It was OK. But one connection on mine would have me sweating to disconnect it. They were metal blocks so I drilled the hole wider. Stopped the problem.
Sold.mine as I already had the evo x and the hideout didn't seem yo offer much more. I still fish open fronted when possible.
Loving the Tempest Brolly and it has the Evo capabilty of being
Fished higher or lower.

If no rain is forecast I'll always chose to go under the stars. I've been caught out a few times with an early morning shower but all part of the fun.
There's nothing like laying there on a clear night looking up at a sky of stars, one of the great pleasures of our hobby.

The wildlife you see can be awesome around dawn if you have been still in the chair overnight

As much as possible. I've slept under the stars in Winter as well - both on the floor and on a bed chair. Providing you've got appropriate sleeping gear with you, it's perfectly fine.

Around 30 odd years ago I had a Nash bedchair cover that attached to the bottom and pulled out an over the bedchair, it was all I used during the summer, great times.
