Anyone noticed (think Spooner) using a rod badged with Kaptor in one of his blogs?
Plenty of people using the prototypes mate think that was one of the reasons bringing Terry Edmonds on board

It was only a matter of time. They will enter every possible area where they can make a profit. Ok if what they put out is of the quality required. It called Korda developments for a reason. Only way is up. Hopefully.

The top end Daiwa blanks have always had an excellent reputation, it'll be interesting to see if Korda can emulate that.

I assume they are in the game long enough to get their hands on similar blanks.
Is just a matter of what profit they are aiming for and how they will reach it.: (1) setting consumer prices high or (2) save on raw materials and production cost.

Can't see them saving on raw materials unless buying inferior, manufacturing could save a lot buy going over seas as infinity's are made in Scotland.

they have their Guru rods made by Daiwa so dont see any reason why the same cant be done with the carp rods.
In the solid bag carp fishing Rob Burgess korda video he used 2 of the prototypes more through action looked same as the Kaptor and one fast taper - the 'higher end' fast taper rod looks like a blank Daiwa had out a few years ago in the euro market 'Shogun' which was rammed with all the techy bits.

I'd of thought that would of been the total opposite to be honest.

I admire Mr fairbrass and his many achievements. However I just don't like the build on those daiwa rods. If the blanks were available for a custom build I might be tempted.

Same as, if they had fitted fuji titanium k series 40mm advanced pattern in stead of the cheap minima's like they did briefly on the slim powers I'd be trying them.

It really is a shame they arent not more widely available. I know Daiwa does allow the rods to be custom made but only if you order in size as per the Future Fishing line of Powermesh rods.

Are you sure Guru rods are still made by Daiwa ? I was told this was how korda and daiwa had a falling out as Guru sourced there blanks abroad as of 2021.

I see in the new Gigantica Korda vlog Mr Fairbrass has some rods with 'Kaizen' down the side of the blank, perhaps the new big water rod in the line?

Must have good eyesight. I paused it aswell to see if I could make out a name. Definately began with a K from what I could make out..
Was more interested in the Net to be honest. Looked solidly built. Metal spreader block nice bow Might even be a reversed tapered handle with a spike on the end. Some net handles are to flexy. You have to compress them fully before you can lift the net around the fish.

i noticed that, logo on the left and right hand side of the blank, perfect for camera shots of the rods when fish being played or on the buzzers. Look pretty fast taper by the way they bent...or lack of bend with big fish

I remember him playing a 60lb carp on a 3.75lb infinity in one of his videos and he said how lovely the rod was to play a fish on and only the top 12 inches of the rod were bent.

Yeah definitely said Kaizen on the side of the rod when he was playing a fish on them. Also noticed that the reels had all branding removed.
I asked Terry Edmonds on a recent casting day and he said he couldn't say but i wasn't a million miles off in thinking new rods were on the horizon
