Looking for a good fluorocarbon that is supple and strong for my reels any recommendations 
20lb x-line for me. Tried the Berkeley stuff in 15lb and after 6months it deteriorated to a point you could snap any knot like cotton. Might have been a dodgy batch but I went back to X-line.

Another vote for x line from me, have used for some years now and it's certainly proved up to the job

Think I have to agree. My first few usages of cf600 was great..... Then fished Oct / Nov with new line all good....... Used next the following July and it was really quite bad and was breaking up a bit too often. I stripped yards and yards off in case I had ran through some snags / branches etc but made no difference.
I may be heading back to x line that i never had any issues with for years, only grabbed berkley when I couldn't get the x I wanted, it was initially good so stuck with it (new spools though)

Never really used fluorocarbon much is the xline supple and ok to use with solid bags only used ultima pure power years ago and didn't get 9n with it n went bk to mono

Tiger line for me
Had a great year on it,sinks very well just needs straightening every now and again

Same here. Berkley are terrible. Spooled up with cf600 fine for first few sessions. 5 months later and it snaps like nothing tightening a simple not. Will never is it again

Daiwa floorit if you can find it is the best I've used .

20lb xline for me. have found it bullet proof and used for the last 15 years on an off.
Even use it on my Castizms and it has behaved fine. Does benefit from occasionally stretching and walking out any twist.

I think you may be disappointed if your primary requirement for a flouro is for it to be supple .
Im now on Tiger in 16lb and it is the best ive used. Needs a stretch quite often and a clean. It is far from supple tho.

I have to say I'm in complete agreement as well. I bought 2000m of Berkeley 15lb fluoro and spooled up 3 rods for a trip to France. Couple of days before leaving I made up the rods for travelling. After threading the tubing on I tried to tie the lead clip using a palomar knot. Every time I put tension on the line to test the knot it snapped. It happened on all 3. I contacted the vendor but they were not interested in taking back the line and testing it because “ It was not on the spools”. I unspooled all 3 reels but left some fluoro on as backing and took the line to my local angling shop. Even they couldn't tie anything that wouldn't snap.
Upshot is I've got no confidence in fluoro and won't consider it at all. It's 15lb mono for me - I've never been let down.

Fox Illusion and Tiger line are all brilliant and wont let you down oh yea and X-line if you want a line that casts like crap

20lb X-Line if you want strong, it's not supple though and doubt you will find a Fluoro that is.

Maybe it was a dodgy batch or past it's shelf life. Never got to find out due to the vendor not willing to take it back and test it. I could have tried to spool it back onto the original spools I suppose but it would not have looked like a machine had done it! Still, their loss, have never and will never use them again.

For leaders and hook links I would agree. This guy is after a mainline, I've never found a well behaved mainline from Seagar, would be interested to hear if you have found one?

I had 20lb X-Line on my reels once and I found it horrible. It's thick and wiry, terrible to cast (and I mean terrible) and it picks up so much dirt.
It does sink well though!

I find I like the InvizX one they do works well for me. I was tempted to push the boat out and give the Tatsu a go, although it works out mega expensive.
Because of what the material used to make the stuff, they're all (used quite a few different brands) to one degree or another are wirey. The InvizX breaks at the stated strength, unlike some of the others and is very reliable. Giving it a good stretch out helps out, plus big spools. A tiny little cotton spool for a reel, you're always going to have mares with fluro.
A line I've been very impressed with is Korea's Touchdown. Acts very similar to Fluorocarbon, yet at a fraction of the cost. Just like fluro, you peel it off the lakebed.

I tried the InvisX in .37 but found it behaved and cast worse than Xline. To be honest I don't think I'll ever bother with flouro after getting used to sinking braids. I don't want to have to clean and stretch a line out after each session and braid has so many other advantages.

Same here with the cleaning of fluro.
Funnily enough I've just payed a bundle of lolly to spool up my reels in that Gardner Noir. Always been of the opinion that it's dicey using braid and always plumped for mono, though seeing as the place I'm on gets very weedy, going by what others mention about braid cutting through weedbeds, it can only be a good thing.

The sawing through weed stems with braid is a bit of a myth imo. How often are you sawing left and right in a fight. The advantage for me is if they bury in the weed you can keep the pressure and get out above them in the boat. The other advantage is if you're at range and have to pull a load of weed in without a fish you're not stretching the mono out to bu**ery every time you wind in.

it doesnt need to move in two directions to 'saw' through weed stems - it can still cut through if just moving in one direction. at the end of the day, its thinner in diameter and therefore will cut through easier.

That makes sense if you get snagged up with mono and have to pull for a break that's a lot of stretched line that needs cutting off and can cut you're casting distance down if it happens often.

Wish I had noticed this thread ealier, lost a good fish yesterday, I have had BERKLEY Connect CF600 for 6 months on my spare spools, only used it a few times and it snaps well below the stated braking strain as well, very dispointing considering the price.
