Delkim battery just went on me whilst fishing,so I was using Duracell plus 9v.Are there any others you guys could recommend that last longer?

I use the Duracell plus and they seem to last for ages. Not sure if there is anything better out there. It will be interesting to see other replies.

Aldi batteries come out amazingly well in the Which magazine tests almost the SAME PEFORMANCE as Duracell at a fraction of the price

Amazon basics batteries seem to compare well with Duracell too. I've used them in alarms for the past few years without a problem.
9V PP3 less than a quid each if you buy 8 (but over 2 pounds each if you but 4).

Only time will tell if they last significantly longer than duracells . . .that and whether I actually catch any fish to drain them!

I've had txi-d's for a couple of years and been out every other weekend and not changed the batteries yet. Have you used Duracell?

Yes iv used duracell but I have had issues with the alarms and receiver also. Iv had a replacement receiver due to a short so wouldn't be surprised if the alarms also have something similar

At work we had remote sensors that constantly sent signals back to the main system. They were on 24/7 365 days a year and they lasted 5+ years.

Warning! these aren't cheap, far from it but it's the answer to the question what are the best batteries.
Other than that Duracell Procell. They are good batteries and if shop around can be bought at good prices.

and the ALDI batteries PISS ALL OVER 90% of the other makes they score almost the same as the top battery that was the Mallory duracell just very slightly less BUT AT 1/4 of the price !!! £ 2.49 for a pack of 2 please save yourselves a few bob and give em a try same as their AA and AAA my dab radio runs so much longer on these

The only make of battery I buy these days,cheap as chips and last ages.Got them in all our TV remotes and in the toys for my wife's childminding business.They have been in my fishing alarms and receiver for last few years,I think it was after you recommended them before

Can't argue with the value for money. But if money is no object then the Lithium batteries mentioned earlier cannot be beaten on performance. Just a shame they are soooo expensive.

Have a look at battery station. Lithium are about £6 each or cheaper if you buy 10
Best to make up a decent order as postage is a few quid. Typically good quality 9v alkaline ones such as duracell are about £1 each

yes probably was as I have been banging on about them for years if you measure the voltage on AA batteries most are around 1,2v but only the the Aldi always measure 1.5v same as Duracell which adds to the theory they are a rebadged Duracell at a 1/4 of the price

I've not had the txi D's very long. The Duracell battery in the receiver let me down after a few weeks with hardly any use. Changed the battery in October & again hardly any use, battery dead when I got the alarms out the shed yesterday. Admittedly stored over the winter but has anyone else had a similar problem? I'm wondering if there is a drain on the receiver?

I've just changed my batteries yesterday put a Duracell in my receiver and cheap Kodak ones in my delkims from Poundland,first time they've been changed in around 4/5 years maybe more

the issue with using cheap batteries is not so much them not lasting long but the RISK of them leaking and ruining your alarms
IMHO simply not worth it

Really weird, I've had Duracell in my TXI'Ds since the middle of March and no issues, intact I'd be surprised if they didn't last all year.
My old TXI pluses drained battery quickly, it might be worth getting them checked out by delkim. That's what I'd probably do anyway.

Aldi seems to have stopped selling their batteries in sizes other than AAA and AA ?
but I would NEVER EVER use anything other than a top rated battery purely because of the danger of leaking batterys ruining your alarm
and as we all know decent batteries in Delkims last 2 or 3 seasons so no need for false economy
