No I never paid, I've always just paid balance once order was ready to be shipped with Graeme. Hope he hasn't packed it in.

I text a number of times even rang about a full mobile system never got a reply back. Gave up after a few months of trying.

I had a similar experience with a query about the Dymag Mobile system in November last year.
I made an initial email enquiry in early November, got a response a few weeks later asking which option I wanted. I responded, but heard no more, despite a few follow up emails and a call from me.
Something is obviously amiss, but I'm clueless as to what ...

One man band who clearly can't keep up with the demand which I can imagine with this lockdown and meant many more anglers treating themselves more to custom gear.
Be it custom rods, custom reels we've all experienced longer waits when dealing with small / sole traders.
Also I can imagine parts / materials on longer lead times.
He's probably as we speak head down trying to complete orders .
If he doesn't respond lots of other companies you can go to.

I think theres a bit more to it than that. I spoke to him in November over the phone and he had a few issues outside of work. But he did agree to complete an order for me personally, what's gone on after that I don't know but hopefully he is keeping well, could be materials, could be life problems, who knows. Im not trying to defend Graeme as his communication skills leave alot to be desired but.
1. Graeme has other business interests outside of fishing.
2.The lockdown has affected people in different ways some wont ever be the same again.

That's a very good post..
No one knows what another person's life is like,I'll give an example...
So one of the staff members where I work was considered lazy,slow,rubbish at her job,overweight etc,etc..even her husband, who works here moaned about her..

The Dymag website is live and clearly publishes the method of contact. To just ignore everyone using that contact method for months on end is a bit of a travesty for me. I would be very surprised if that was the case , I have dealt and spoken to graeme on numerous occasions and he has always responded and he knows that i would,nt want much if anything from him.

I gave up trying to contact him in the end,something obviously isn't right one way or another, but i managed to pick a second hand etc up off ebay...one was listed on ebay yesterday and was taken down and sold privately within minutes.

Obviously I hope the guy is OK but it would take 30 seconds to put something out there to say his business was suspended or whatever is going on instead of leaving many loyal customers in the dark....common courtesy.

I gave up on Dymag and went to Eden Custom Rods. Great service so far
I've been offered three 2nd hand Dymag FX6 3.25 rods for £450. What do you guys think?

As far as i am aware they are essentialky Torrix blanks , however it could be why no one is hearing from him as harrison are revamping and cutting alot of blanks from production , my own 9ft blanks have been stopped aswell as float rods and a large number of fly blanks !!!!

That's getting silly now.
It was a vast and confusing range for sure, but that was what set them apart, an excellent blank for any application.

A number of reasons i believe , they are so busy they can no longer produce my 9ft blanks as i dont order huge numbers . Staff shortages, supplies really slow coming through .etc etc. Most of the Carp blanks should be ok im told.

That's a tackle shop that's priced it at £3000 they just put the price as it's out of stock saves them having to relist it when they get more stock and they lower the price back to the normal price when it's back in stock

I thought that but it says they have 2 in stock. Couldn't be bothered to call them to check as I'm not really in the market atm. Same principle applies though, shortages of stock always push prices up.

If anyone buys them at that price they need head testing ! And the harrison 3 piece stalkers are better than the dymag 3 piece stalkers in my opinion and yes i have had both.

Never used a Ballista in all honesty. One of my mates who's done some rod building in his time is a big fan of the Ballista blank kept telling me to get hold of a set if I fancied some nice playing rods. Maybe one day 🙂

I've built myself a barbel stalker last year, one of the thinnest blanks I've seen, had some mega big fish fights on them, I don't know where the power comes from but they certainly have it!

And the 2lb 11ft Gti's fantastic short to mid range carp rods......didn't know they existed until I spoke to Roger Hurst and he made me up a pair
He sells a lot of them as flood water Barbel rods so they've got a bit of backbone to them as well as a fantastic through action for close range work

FWIW I've pair of custom YAC 9ft stalkers since they came out and yes, they are lovely rods, however I do find that being 3 piece they're a bit of a faff to put up/pack down whilst "set up" if that makes sense? Very easy to get in a bit of a mess lol.
I can definitely see the attraction in the scope type rod format being effectively a 2 piece.
I lug them around in a Dymag holdall which is a cracking bit of kit. It was the only option for short rods available at the time IIRC apart from the little YAC bag thing.

Forgive me for chelping out the obvious but instead of repeated attempts of failed and seemingly futile digital electronic methods to communicate with the party in question maybe go old skool by way of a vehicle ride to the regestrated business address upon then personally in physical form make any enquiries relevant, although obviously a tactic of extreme discomfort these days, worth a long shot surely.

This has also come up on the BCSG forum recently. John Carver has spoken to Graeme, and due to 'personal reasons', Dymag are no longer currently trading, although this may change in the future.

Ill health / mental health - may have been suffering for a while and just had to stop. We all know how hard the man worked and the masterpieces he produced.
It was obvious that something was very wrong with him. He's not a young man.
