I've got a.few monkey bits, I've got to be honest, they're actually really good. The headtourch is very good, as is the whoppa-chewbar powerstation that I've got of there's, same goes for their multi tool. None of it's fallen apart yet, or just disintegrated like Fox junk, so, I was wondering, why the hate?

No different to any other brand they all have their haters.
I've never had any problems with fox gear trakker aqua or even Nash gear

Well my fox junk has done me proud
Microns SXs since 97 no problems quottro pod , original ultra 50 Brolly with the screw boss centre, my one man bivvy is a eclipse ,steel framed ruck sack boxes etc and I still use the SSC hooks ,chairs the list would go on
Not bought much ridgemonkey but my sandwich toaster was junk all the non stick coating came off in about 6 months and they didn't want to know so I'll stick with fox thankyou

Some of the Ridgemonkey stuff is great, other stuff is just re-badged, re-hashed crap that is hyped up beyond belief with a premium price tag....still they sell plenty of it so fair enough....🤷♂️....

Everything I own from Ridgemonkey is fit for purpose and also very well thought out. I have found that Fox is a mixed bag the bed, bivvy, and reels I have owned have been really S"%&t.and have all been faulty/broke within 12 mths. I did buy some fox warriors many moon ago that were impressive at the time. The only fox kit I use now is a bucket and bivvy mat which to be fair can't really be improved,,,

To me most Ridgemonkey stuff looks overpriced rebranded, that if you look around you can buy cheaper elsewhere.
I have had a bit of Fox gear over the years, original Fox Ultra bedchair, EasyDomes, Fox Royale luggage, (current and original), Fox Warrior landing net. This stuff lasted, but I do know from working in a tackle shop that they have had problems.
As for Nash, hmm! I can only think of 2 items that I would have recommended, both Outlaw range, landing net and an Outlaw Hurricane bivvy. Every luggage item I have bought has not had a long life, zips have broken, rucksacks split
I can honestly say that the TFG stuff I have bought is as good a quality as the more expensive gear.
Trakker, in terms of stoves, again, I could find the same item at often half the price.

I don't doubt that some of the RM products are a bit pony. But there's good and bad in all tackle manufacturers ranges. For a bit of balance, I was bought one of the toasters with the quick release handles as a present. One of the catches didn't work from new. The person who gave me it didn't have a receipt. I had no proof of purchase. I mailed RM telling them the situation. A few days later a new set of handles turned up. No question asked.
I also have one of their vault power packs. Yes I know that you can buy cheaper alternatives, but actually their version having a 12v cigarette socket, a usb c and std usb comes in very handy. I use mine for work to keep torches, gas analysers, laptop etc charged as well as fishing and it's been brilliant. I've had it about a year and it still seems to be holding its charge as well as when new.
I've also got the bucket that has the little trays in it for hookbaits etc. Mines not that old so I guess they've modified the design as mines easy to get the lid off and still retain your fingers.
The few fox products I've had in recent years have been shoddy and their customer service even shoddier.

The vast majority of the stuff we buy is Chinese crap and it's usually the luck of the draw as to whether the crap you've paid good money for falls to bits or not.
However....Mexico is the new China and we as a nation have just done a huge new trade deal with them.
So in a while expect your crap to arrive in the shops even later...with a sombrero on the box

Ridgemonkey, Fox, Nash, Trakker, Aqua and many others are all made in China, some in the same factory, some not but it's all mass-produced. Some appear to be better quality than others but the QC is crap therefore a certain percentage of any manufacturers products coming from China will always have problems......
It is obvious though that there is another level of quality in China itself as some have consistently more problems than others depending on the output quality of the factory they use!
That said, Cotswold Aquarius, "Made in the UK" have their fair share of quality issues and charge an eye-watering price for it!

Rubbish. Haters will hate if they have good reason... we've all bought gear that's let us down, let's face it, most gear is made to the cheapest bidder and I think they spend more money on packaging than they do getting a quality product to market. We all have brands we prefer to others and that's based on personal experience and your own standards - some people happily use crap gear and then others expect more for their money. The only Ridgemonkey item I own is a collapsible water bucket, that's been just fine Nothing else they sell has any appeal to me. LOL

I bought a new rucksack last year after selling a CA vulpine rucksuck that I couldn't get on with - uncomfortable to carry any distance - poor design... bought a Wisport military rucksack for £110 and the quality is night and day better than the £150 Cotswold affair. That's a Polish manufacturer by the way. Pays to source gear from non fishing manufacturers where you can, as it is cheaper and way better.

I've got a couple of RM bits and haven't had cause for complaint, like a lot of brands it's all hit or miss what makes it through QC in China.

I bought a thinking anglers quiver recently, who seem to be well thought of quality wise. One of the larger lower pockets started to come away, as if the stitching hadn't quite got the fabric. Was replaced no issues, but shows all companies have issues with some gear. When some people have the same product with no issues, it's clearly down to a bad batch rather than a bad product. Stuff is made in China now, some will not meet standards, it's a trade off, annoying, but ultimately, it's how's it's dealt with that counts

I -aid a lot for a mk2 deluxe camera bag from Cotswold. Only one I could find in that style. The bag itself is fine. But the shoulder strap has plastic clips, same as found on cheap sports direct holdalls. Bit of a piss take from Cotswold I feel. Especially when trakkers stuff has metal, or at least high quality clips in the whole

I don't hate RM or any other brand but there are some brands that just don't resonate with me and RM is one of those brands and Avid is another. None of their stuff really appeals and I can't really say why.

Remember the consumer rights act, fishing stuff is not immune to it and should be used when necessary
I think as consumers when it comes to fishing tackle we seem to forget our rights.
Believe me it may take time, though no company wants to go through this process.

I honestly can say I have nothing by RM
I do have a ridge monkey xl toaster, a head torch and the newer bivvy light (I have had a couple of these) never had a problem with any of it but I have seen the bivvies up close at coking farm and it's really not for me, I have seen a lot of people having problems with a bit of there gear just feel they are bringing out way to much stuff to quickly without sorting the issues with current stuff. Trying to run before you can walk comes to mind
