I was going to buy a multi fuel stove for winter, but this usb can heater actually looks like it might be a better bet.

Sorry I only have the link to the short you tube video. I hate ending up with half cans in winter that I have to stockpile until summer. So I think I will get one of these. I carry a power vault anyway.

yeah cheers pal saw the same clip and in exactly the same boat. even in summer this will help when cans gets too low. Having the vault chargers myself also this seems to be ideal scenario

Yes. The ridgemonkey stoves don't have a preheater. So In winter they can be a bit of an arse when it's really cold. If you don't have a full can of gas their performance drops off. It can take ages to boil a kettle etc. This is a gas canister jacket, like a lot of tackle companies sell, but it's got a heater in it. So it warms the gas like a pre heat tube on a stove like a bullin would. It runs off of a usb power pack.

There are lots of decent stoves without pre heater pipes, cadac and campingaz party grills for example, the sort of cooker I'd only take for socials or winter when I really want a proper meal.
Yes it's a bit pricey but it looks like a well thought out product that will be very useful to a lot of people.

I used to do post 22 all the time.
The other way of doing it is the little hand held heather that are liquid and you snap them to heat up then boil to return back to the original state. Just set it off and stick it in the bottom of the a neoprene holder and push the gas bottle onto it (if you have two you can boil one while the other heats so that you always have a spare)

Take the heater element out of the amazon warmer and put into DPM holder
definately worth a punt on a HP cadac where the cylinder is screwed directly underneath
no affiliation to amazon or speero

Definitely worth a go for a cadac or a jet boil type stove
At £10 for a can cosy plus buying the warmer and a bit of time fiddling about, the ridgemonkey version is looking good value to me tbh

I do the water method. As Chuffy says, the water doesn't need to be anywhere near boiling, after 30 seconds dip it in and you get a roaring flame.

Same here, after struggling in the cold this weekend with my cadac cant wait for the richmonkey warmer to be released. At £20 if it does what is says it does it will be the best £20 every spent for me

Don't know how to add the picture of weather app but Saturday early morning was 5 with real feel of - 2 due to heavy winds.
Don't know where in the UK you were to get 15 deg this weekend but certainly wasn't at bluebell lakes

trouble is if you want to fish in harsh winter sessions YOU DO need one of these
as the stove is total rubbish without it in freezing conditions as they produced a butane stove without a pre heat tube
OR READ POST 14 AND SAVE LOTS OF MONEY
