The 150 will be a 2-man sized shelter. The 100 Trakker/Aqua have started using mean 1-man so guessing the 150 is the 2-man sizing

As someone that suffers big style with their back (joys of Multiple Sclerosis & degenerative disc disease in cervical and sacral/sacrum spine, & also being 6' tall, if the Tempest Brolly was too low with either groundsheet or tension strap fitted, I think I would be one of the most affected by it. No such problems sitting bolt upright on a Solar SP C-Tech bedchair without head touching the roof nor the zip on front skirt getting in my eye line. I have no idea where these issues are coming from unless having legs extended fully on bedchair so feet are swinging freely or having an exceedingly long body & neck! The normal Tempest system with the groundsheet or tension strap fitted, gives massive head room (100mm more than the Brolly).
The Hide XL has a height of 152cm but the front comes down a good 15cm so the top of the door will be the same as a Tempest! How is that going to help with the viewing area? You have to hunch over to get the full field of view in the Hide XL.
Strange how the "Cyprinus" Typhoon has the exact same HEIGHT dimension as the Tempest at 135cm, but of course, because it isn't made by Trakker or Aqua, it will not have the head clearance issues...
A lot these "problems" are bought up by the same people that slate any manufacturer that dare supply stuff through a tackle dealer & want to buy shelters direct thinking they are getting a bargain when in reality they are not & just getting a copy of a product that has been designed by one company & then they are having them made using the other companies hard work. Each to their own. Fishing wind swept lakes this bivvy would be a nightmare in my opinion. It's to high. I have the advanced brolly and it's perfect. I'm 6.1 and I have plenty of head room. I suppose Trakker are trying to please everyone.

I've been in the market for a new shelter for ages and this could definitely tick a few boxes!
Trakker has just said in the comments on Facebook that there isn't any plans to make a overwrap for it, I would of got one but I fish all year round even in the coldest of winters I prefer having a overwrap especially to help with the condensation

But I've found with the nylon material without a full wrap the condensation is awful even with a skull cap, also the skull cap doesn't help with warmth at all I find. If they bring out a overwrap I'll 100% buy it until then don't think so

This is a lot taller than the air tho is it not? So when it rains with a bit of wind the rain will make it a lot further back, so the front is going to be needed more often than not.
And light weight is a bit of a stretch, even in these days of 15kg brollies

I've looked into having a couple of vents put in my V2 and that would work out dearer.

I'll be getting one of these I'm pretty sure I can make my V1 overwrap think of a fashion by fastening longer elastics to already fixed pegging points even by attaching elastic to the fitted elastic if you know what I mean lol

I disagree. Add as many layers to a bivvy as you want but brollies are supposed to be lightweight. This trend of adding layers and manufacturing from heavier duty materials just adds weight which for me avoids the point of a brolly.

I wouldnt class the tempest as a brolly. It's a shelter And a well designed shelter. I agree a brolly is and should be light weight. I'd rather the tempest be heavier and well made than light and flimsy.

Still not a brolly in my opinion. Or not a conventional brolly anyway. it's a shelter / bivvy , it's erected from the outside like every other shelter. Brollys are erected from inside using a pole and lock mechanism.

I use the V2 brolly ( as it's called ) for overnight and longer sessions as it's has add-ons to make it more comfortable and more room.

I'm the same as you, never understood why Trakker decided to to call a smaller Tempest Bivvy a brolly??
The design of both is exactly the same? The poles go together the same way, uses the same block design to put it under tension 🤷🏻♂️ The tempest “brolly” is just a smaller tempest bivvy

While Trakker are having a bit of a “rebrand” of the various tempest models eg. 100, 100t, 150 etc
They should of called the “brolly” the 100, the bivvy the 150 and the XL bivvy the 200 or something along them lines

when the brilliant idea was a brolly with the ribs on the outside !!
and it was genius IMO but of course it was a very long thin shape when packed up the tempest is a very similar idea except they put a break in the poles so it packed up smaller

The Fox Evo was probably the second (behind Nash Titan) shelter with poles on outside and pre-dates the Pioneer and JRC/Trakker open fronted pramhoods by a number of years. Tempest Brolly is the best of the lot in this guise though but ive never been convinced on the full system Tempest versions.

Well I've taken advantage of the Boxing Day sales at 15% off with total fishing tackle and gone for it, bought the tempest100t, groundsheet, infill panel and the skull cap saved a fair bit aswell so just waiting for it to be out now end of January is what I'm being told

Very tempted by this.
I have been a user of the Titan Hide XL and found the increased headroom fantastic but i really like a peak on my shelter!
Looking at the material though the Tempest is 210D Polyester and the Hide XL is 420D Nylon so the Nash is "thicker" (you can actually tell this by looking at them both!) however they weigh virtually the same in basic form, (Tempest 6KG, Hide 6.2KG). Dimensions wise the Titan is wider, (280cm opposed to 250cm) and the Tempest is deeper, (235cm v 210cm) but height is virtually the same at 152cm for the Titan and 150 the Tempest.
If the Hide XL had a peak it would be perfect.....

Not nitpicking Jerry (cos I've ordered one!) but I don't think the height of the actual doorway is 150cm.
If you visit the Trakker website, it's the total height of the 100T that's 150cm.
You need to deduct the amount that's between the top of the doorway and the top of the brolly, which will be a few cms.

Could look at the spec of the infil panel. Or maybe not.
The T100 Bivvy is quoted to be 135cm height so pretty low then.

For anyone interested just received my new tempest brolly 100T and the very top of the opening is 130 cm high that's with no fronts attached

So still awaiting delivery of mine. Does anyone know if a MK1 skull cap will fit the 100t? I know the v2 version does but not sure if t he v1 is dofferent!

Mine is going to become my "all rounder". Nights, days and a week in France in June.
If I were going in March or October I wouldn't risk it. But it will be perfect for a week during the warmer months....the rear vents will help, hopefully won't sweat my goolies off.

Mine will be my all round, all year bivvy aslong as I've got the skull cap on I'm sure I'll be fine. My mate uses his v2 brolly all year round and has had no problems with weather or anything so far.

I have got Army Andy to replace both the front mesh with plastic panels on my Tempest Bivvy its so much better IMO if its hot enough to want more ventilation in the front I will just fold it back or unzip it all together

Got to admit I do like the idea of having windows either side or at least give you the option of a Velcro window to put over the mozzie mesh, think it would lighten up the bivvy a lot especially in the winter when day light is hard to come by anyway

Just found another video for the 100T on YouTube. It's in Dutch this time but gives you a good comparison between the old V2 and the new one.

Whilst we know that the new one is higher, it's funny watching Trakker's attempts to pull the wool over our eyes.
Freeze the "action" at 1.49 and look at the difference in the way the two guys are sitting.
The one in the old V2 couldn't sit any more bolt upright, and his chair cushion is a lot higher off the ground than 100T mans.
And Mr 100T looks like he is having a nice, relaxed dump.
Come on Trakker, we're not bloody stupid.

Internal space is the same I think as the tempest v2 brolly other than 5m more depth with the 100t.
I can fit a small chair in front of the bed no problem and yeah the head room is great, can now sit on my bedchair buddy on the bed and see out easily

So , finally got around to putting it up in the garden , rock solid especially with the storm poles. all good so far.. Then i tried to swap the skull cap off my v1 only to find contrary to advice it doesn't fit (well not very well any way). To get it anywhere tight enough i'm having to fit the tension clips to the bottom leg of the poles and then it fits where it touches. Anyone else have this issue??

V1 groundsheet fits fine. Looks to me like the 100t has a slightly different profile to the v1 which might be the problem , gonna try pegging it out slightly wider later , see if that makes any difference?

I found the skull cap bracket clips a tight fit I had to tighten them up on the thinner part of the female pole section then push the bracket clip onto the the fatter part of the female pole section and also found one of the Velcro straps slightly out of line when in place my skull cap is the cyprinus version not sure if it's classed as the v1 or v2 version

I had exactly the same problem with the clips. Can just about get the cap tight enough with the clips at the very end of the female sections. Pegged it out a couple of inches wider so the infill still fits ok which helped a bit , no matter what i do i can't get all the seams lined up , but i guess it beats going out and buying a new one.

The only way to get the clips to fit on the 100T is fit the clips on the thinner part of the female pole slightly tighten them up and then push them onto the fatter part of the female section . I even got trakker to send me a set of the skull cap clips for the tempest v2 xl bivvy as the poles on that model are slightly thicker and they were to big on the tempest 100T even when fully tightened it seems from speaking to Gary in trakker spares department he thinks they have prehaps used a thick paint coating on the 100T model poles

All I did was put it over the top over the elastic slid the clips up to the top section/fatter section yeah was tight but could do it then squeezed them tightly it then did them up? Worked fine yes u had to put a bit of pressure on them but wasn't that bad and had all of them done in no time all line up and my skull cap fits fine used it last weekend fine also. I have photos aswell from the day I done it aswell to show I did it and it fits fine if someone wants to tell me how to put them up on here I will do it to show you guys

The tempest 100 uses the 16mm poles so it's the small clips he requires. It looks to me like it's sat on the bore corrected section of the (where it's widened to accept the male part of the pole) if he moves it up past the shoulder it should fit better.

Well got round to finally using mine this weekend for a 48hr very pleased with if, better head room and you lot was right the skull cap helped a lot with the condensation. Kept the door shut through the night and was hardly any condensation at all was very pleased with it tbh

I am a big fan of the skull cap on bivvies ever since my Pioneer days I never took it off that and I never take it of my Tempest mk1 bivvy either helps with the heat in summer and condensation in winter

Yeah first time I've used one normally I use a overwrap but I was very impressed with this tbh. Glad I listened to you mate and got it, plenty of head in it aswell also the door height felt very good and I'm 6ft 3 so should be fine for you 👍
Also anyone worried about the height and strong winds don't be, I was out this weekend with some very strong winds and gusts coming right at me and it didn't budge a inch very very sturdy

I heard of someone else that was out in the big winds we had recently and he said initially he was really scared and thought of packing up but it was rock solid he is over the moon with it too he said its given him massive confidence in it
but TBH I think eventually when funds allow I will probably go with the Quest version same sort of specs and size but loads cheaper

Yeah I'm not going to lie when the winds started to pick up I was a bit worried but it was rock solid so I was well happy with it, slept fine knowing it was going to hold firm and it did.
Yeah I seen the quest one buddy and if that's what you want to get go for it mate just make sure you do a review on it
Yeah I'm not going to lie when the winds started to pick up I was a bit worried but it was rock solid so I was well happy with it, slept fine knowing it was going to hold firm and it did.

i haven't got a front but remember seeing that they could - just make sure all the zips on the doors are fully undone.

Yeah it can be left on but make sure the zips are undone, tbh tho I don't leave mine on I don't see the need it takes seconds to take off and on mate

Looking at getting the tempest 100T andcan see a lot of people with it now and been using it. Just curious after a lot of use what you guys think the pros cons are of the 100T, would you buy it again? What would be improved? Cheers.

I've had 60 inch brollys, titan, aqualite bivvy, fox super brolly and now I have the tempest t 100
It's brilliant.
So easily to set up
I have bought a larger bag for it as its like wrestling 🤼♂️ an octopus 🐙 when it's wet)
But seriously they are great.
I've got the zip on front but not the skull cap.

I found the 100t a bit too tall. I got a standard 100 instead. Prefer the more compact size, but get why others like the height. 10cm extra on the height of the 100 would have been perfect for me. 100t is an extra 25cm.

I got a 100t and all the accessories that you can get for it, I love mine and find it the perfect height but I am 6ft 3 the door height is perfect, the normal 100 is way to low for me because of my height

Not vital but it does come in handy throughout the winter for a wrap to help with condensation, I only use the skull cap wrap in the winter the rest of the year I use a normal skull cap instead mate

I like the versatility of the 100t . If you're in a swim that's a bit wider you don't have to use the tension strap. You can drop the height 100mm and give yourself a bit more room inside. . I gave up with the skull cap. The wrap isn't much more bigger and fits on the barrow fine. I have the mozzi front , solid front and a ground sheet. It all stays in the van and is useful to have the modular system to suit venue and swims. As and when required . It dries so much quicker than my v2 tempest and an awful lot lighter as well. Great bit of kit.

Same. Being only 5'10 I don't need the full height so if there's room I also don't use the strap.and set it a bit wider and lower.

Im currently using a tempest air, and would ideally like to replace it with something similar but with the option of a front.
Is the 100 the same sort of dimension as im used too? Im 6ft but never had a head height issue.

If i remember correctly, the v2 bivvy is 140cm high. 15cm more that the brolly, and 10 cm shorter than the 100t

It's the height to width that seems odd in photos but not so much in use. However when laying on the bed the door seems high yet my full size pioneer can be set that high too and it never seems so odd.

I'm not sure they are really needed, I used mine recently with no front door or poles and no issues. Added the door a few days later as it rained, still no poles or issues.
It seems plenty sturdy enough without them, maybe a very strong headwind may be different but not had that.
However, sorry I can't answer what the correct poles would be other than suggesting the door height of 150cm should help guide your choice.

ah okay thanks, i may give it a whirl without them then, i have used the mozzi front without poles but thought it may be different when using the full infill, ill give it a go without i think!

Definitely try it first....
I've used it bare, with the full infil and then with the social cap extension, all without poles and zero issues

I've also not felt the need even with
a storm and the front on. However I would suggest the 48 inch poles. That's what I've used for my full size pioneer
