Thanks all. Picked up some Tesco mixers. Turns out they are much smaller than the original pedigree mixers and also don’t really float. The search continues!

Hi all,
I always used to use pedigree mixers for my surface fishing. Having looked to restock recently, I can’t find the basic mixers in any supermarkets or pet shops. Presumably they have stopped production.
What are people using as an alternative?
Many thanks

Depends on the bank, but 12ft can help get your tips up over the top of the bank side vegetation.

Are you using the small or large weight? What popups are they holding down?

I like the idea of being able to tie a few boom sections up and then clipping on either a hinge or Ronnie depending on the situation.

Agreed regarding upping the bs of the braid. You want the hook/trebles to be the weak point so you can straighten the hooks out of any snags before the line breaks. 50lb braid sounds like heavy duty stuff but it still has a really fine diameter compared to mono.

I have a couple of days camping just north of Salisbury (Figheldean). From what I can see it is mainly trout fishing there. Does anyone know of any nice stretches near from there where I can get a road out for roach, chub, dace etc? A day ticket stretch suited to some float fishing with maggots would be nice. Many thanks!
