It says stainless gear assembly, if it has a machined stainless main gear, 9 GOOD bearings and a carbon drag it potentially isn't a bad deal to be fair. But if it falls to bits it doesn't matter what it's made of....

I like the s5r alarms not had any problems with them in a fair few years now and batterys last forever but I agree most of their stuff is garbage

Can't think of anything I've had from Nash that's been good.
Had good Fox, trakker, korda most esp is good.
Got the lead free leader last year as that's all AD had when I went in, guess what???? It's was not easy to thread so in my opinion another crap product.

Nash dont make reels, neither do Fox, Wychwood, JRC, etc. Never seen the point in spunking your cash on a brass plated product from a company with zero expertise in the field.

I've got a Nash Trax barrow and its slowly fallen apart and rusted. Have repaired it a few times myself to allow me to continue using it but it hasn't got long left before it joins the big barrow cloud in the sky

I'm led to believe that Fox reels are made by Okuma, hence why the EOS reels feel abit cheap and plastic.

The trouble is with Nash they have come out with some fantastic ideas oval brolly, the original titan ,scopes and other bits but the quality of the finished product is poor

R3 alarms are brilliant and the s5 and s5rs for the money.

But as said his quality control was poor and also he swopped models every year. The last 10 years or so have seen some very good bivvys from nash but reels er no. At best rebadged cheaper reels. Okuma reels are priced to sell however the company make some of the best tooling around used by both shimano and diawa.

I have an idea...
Lets spend years behind the scenes developing a faultless product (say bivvy) and then put it to market for say £600.
It's the bollox, lightweight, versatile, modular, interchangeable etc, you get the idea...
It's that good you wont have to buy one for another 10 years.....
No sustainable profit in that is there.
Nah fook that. Sell you a cheaper 10th to make product 2/3rds the price that you have to replace every other year all cause of marketing and associated product kudos!!🙄🙄😮😮👏👏

Got to agree I love my r3s I sold my delkim to buy them but got to be honest I'm tempted by the new delks.
Have to admit though I wouldnt buy a nash reel shimano for me

Fox fx series of reels are a better reel than the shimano reels and so are the Penn 7000 reels.They don't have any flex in the stem spool clickers don't break and they don't bring out a new model every 3 days claiming it to be the best reel they have ever made.I used to only buy shimano now I would buy any other make over shimano just not a Nash

Same could be said for most manufacturers carp gear for me, especially tents. Chinese rubbish with extra carp tax , total rip off, look at what Cyprinus have done and that's with the shipping and their mark up, probably100% +
You walk round a lake and look at peoples gear, most of it will be two or 3 season old maximum

Yonny please. It's not stupid, it's been wind tunnel tested to improve aerodynamics.

I have not yet had a good Nash rucksack or rod holdall, their use life has been rubbish compared to a military Bergen or a mates Rod Hutchinson rucksack he purchased from me in the 1990's when RH was sold by Relum.
I thought the top reel manufacturers in the world were Akios, Daiwa, Shimano, Okuma and Penn. Many of the others are rebranded from one of those.
Mind you, I have seen Shimano build quality go a long way downhill since the heady days of the original Seaspin Baitrunners and the 3500 and the next Aero GTE's in 3500, 4000 and 4500.

A friend of mine beat me 2 the reels. Picked them up and did a few cast, not for me feel of qualit/soledness y is not there so i went against buying. However to conves I would have bought the same if finances allowed. As I love my 9ft Scopes they are top. But for my style of fishing well over 200m on a regular basis I would have to say id stick to my medium LCs they are "like a boss" on you tube. Same reason I fish TLB alarms... I trust the product, can't say the same here.
Shimano for me if I had to buy a reel in this bracket. Nash has some products well worth looking at. Personally I'd go for Shimanos here. That reel size id get a set of Siennas and a light braid setup would be exactly the same.
The daiwa Sweepfire reels I have on my scopes atm is doing the job, had some nice fish in the 18lb to 26lb range no problem.
Heck sorry guys just ranting of.... well you guys get what I'm saying

If I was Nash is build a reel for durability and raw power. Here in SA it's a decent brand. A pal of mine has the 9ft spod rods in the Scope range compared to my stepped up specials. With the Shimanos we fish confidently at range. My LCs and his Ulegras make short work of reeling in.
I'd have to say if one was fishing for a while and one gets past the tackle tart part and you start to desire that quality and durability we all after then a brand would bring out something special. See ESP and Gardner they don't advertise or market as much but we trust their brand and it's in a reasonable price range for all types from the full on world cup angler to the beginer.
There are anglers one here and all around the world that just want to catch fish and do so knowing their gears won't strip or a spool bending when playing fish. Lol just talking alot.
Maybe the brands should approach customers at random and give them a prototype and say "I expect feedback in a month" that way we can tell them straight up what is the pros and cons and what we desire. I mean it's our money in turn if it's junk we buy and sell after a few months/weeks and then the market is flooded with a piece of gear no one wants this after it starts to rust ends up on a rubbish dump or worse in our Ocean.

Doesn't fit their business model. They don't build reels. It would cost millions to start doing so, development and installation of the engineering function and manufacturing facility..... it'd be a completely different direction for them.

son e the scope concept has taken off in such a big way they're really pushing the boundaries on testing how much people will actually pay for the items that make up the concept...while people pay the ridiculous prices they will keep doing it,look at the price of the new scope rods,luggage etc

I agree with that statement. If one loves the scope gear one should buy it if you have the cash. I on the other hand think you should get something you need. I never had small water rods so I bought a set and heck they work well for me. If I go the distance I get my 10ft vortex rods from WA our local tackle retailer out so I can handle them both from the bank and the boat. My hand luggage are mostly military goods I buy cause I find them more durable than most brands.
I just think that maybe the fishing companies should focus more on a hand full of items to be sold. Some companies have such a big variety it confuses and frustrate me so I buy something completely different.
Like a bivvy for instance it's so annoying cause there are so many brands and every one wants to see their consent. How is fishing at 200 or 600m range more of a challenge than fishing at 20 or 60m?
I've had R3's for about three years now and they've been perfect. I did think one had gone wonky after nearly two years, but then realised that it just needed its first new battery lol.

At 20m I control the line lay. At 200 to 600m you need to come back to the bank very straight if you bow it decreases your indication. With the water levels always changing sometimes the vegetation and growth that formed during the drought is a good place to start. Even if its that far out. If that is where the fish are that is where I place a rig.

I've just been into a tackle shop and had a good look at the new Scope reels and i tell you what, they aint that bad, certainly impressed me a bit more than i expected!
OK, the honeycomb spool is a bit marmite, (I don't mind it to be honest) but it was solid, the drag was quick but not Castizm quick and nice and smooth, (as smooth as you can tell by a quick fiddle anyway!) and nothing wobbled. Absolutely nothing like the BP4/6 range which was truly shocking. Compared to the Ultegra 5500 Ci4's that I have just sold they would stand up very well, Castizm, probably not, but they are £70 a reel more.
Worth £140/£180....nah, but there again where do you get value these days in Carp Tackle.
Will be interesting to see how they perform after a good 6 months of use..but initial impressions....they're OK.

If you look at the Okuma 4000 custom black feeder!!!!!!!! Well is that the new Nash reel? Someone more clever than myself could put up a picture?
Now down to £150 fish. I bet they haven't sold like they wanted them too. They had to be competitive with many great reels around £100. Don't you agree guys.

It looks nothing like it and has a completely different spec mate?
I think guys are looking at this dodgy honeycomb spool and assuming any reel with a similar feature is the same one?

I've got to agree with you.
It's years since I have phoned a company up.
Frankly I don't even expect to have to write an email to a person if I have a complaint.
It may not be fair, but Amazon and the bay have raised my expectations to the point that if I am not happy I just click a link and expect a refund and possibly a free free return postage code.

If you google....Hart GT 6000, the reel looks very similar, has stainless inards and 9 ball bearings!🤷🏼♂️
