Currently using amnesia, mainly due to the level of stiffness (25lb) and the way it can be pulled straight with two knot pullers.

Has anyone found and used something that is better than this.

Tried some other materials but all require steaming to get straight.

I've used Amnesia in 12, 15 and 20lbs for a good few years now and find it super reliable. If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it.
If you're wanting something stiffer, 15lb ESP Bristle Filament might fit the bill. Again very reliable.

I think I have some of that so will give it a go. I was seeing whether there was a fluoro really, however the ones I have tried haven't worked as I liked. I tried the rigmarole CamH2O which pulled straight but often broke when pulling knots tight so lost faith in that.

Leave the off the spool curve, that way they can suck it in from all angles.

Don't normally rate Korda products but their boom material is good, pulls straight with a bit of friction heat in it. A bit easier to work with than bristle filament.

I mostly use Big Game Flourocarbon leader, for stiffer boom sections on hinges. Pulls straight without needing to steam. I think it's around 100m to a spool too, so lasts for ages.

25lb Rigmarole CamH20 . . .you can scrunch it into a ball and its still pulls perfectly straight - crimps ok too . . .

Korda boom is hard to beat in my eyes. Also a cheaper basix version out that could be worth a look at.

Korda IQ2 in 20lb. I use Korda Krimps too. XS size. Super neat and effective in my opinion and is easily stretched straight

30lb amnesia clear, but tea stained to take the shine off it 😎

Two good tea bags in a 1/4 cup of boiling water, squash it up like you're making tea for a builder, then once cooled to finger hot remove bags and drop in spool.
Leave overnight 👌🏻

Why would you stain it with tea? I can't imagine the carp are too impressed with that smell around the hook bait and there are plenty of simpler ways to reduce the shine if it bothers you that much

@karlos, maybe an inappropriate story thread would be the way. Then I can tell the story about when I played ping pong in Thailand 😂😭

I’m not anti the stained line. Ages ago (when I had more time on my hands) I would colour braid/tubing with the odd dabs of permanent colour. Not sure what difference it made.

I really like 35lb Korda Boom with fairly large figure 8 loops.

I use silicone to go over the knots to stop them catching on weed as the lake I am on is full of silk weed.

I use ESP Soft Ghost 18lb. for booms and find it’s exactly the right stiffness to kick away from the lead, and soft enough to bend a bit if needs be over bottom debris etc. I use fairly long booms of 12” plus though. Pulls straight between 2 knot pullers.
