I shouldn't comment and I won't except (LOL), listen to the tipsters and you will lose!!!

Perhaps the horse was carrying too much money in bets and the bookies paid the trainer to stop him running (been done before), no idea why he didn't start, sure Mark will provide an explanation? Stick to making baits m8, bet responsibly and don't encourage others to lose their money! No idea why you started the topic about gambling, but as a reformed gambler this subject is not posted in the spirit of a carp forum!

Couldn't agree more david. As a life long gambling addict I really struggle with temptation and really don't want to see it within angling posts as you said it's a mugs game. All this talk of guaranteed winners is a load of cobblers. You may have a winner today and everyone cheers, but no mention of the thousands lost along the way. I'm glad there's a separate post for the gambler but please keep it away from the angling.

What a load of *****. I agree it can become a problem for some. But for people like me I strong willed. I don't drink I don't smoke don't do drugs. So if mark or anyone else wants to give me a tip then he's more than welcome to. You don't have to open up this thread.

I no I can put £5 on a horse and walk away no matter what the result. So don't judge everyone with your own mistakes.

David, just because you were a smack head about it all... Does not mean that everyone else is a smack head about it all. Does it? You had a serious problem if you lost your house. I used to take peoples houses, like yours. My record for 30 mins on a roulette table, is £1.9 million off of one man. I watched folks lose everything, their homes, their relationships... The lot.

Mark I will willingly bow out of this thread, but please do not try and tell me anything about gambling or imply that you have superior knowledge about how to beat the system, former croupier or not, my son was also involved in the industry and he thought he was also that clever, bankrupt twice now, expect you will jump on that comment! We do have a few mutual friends from fishing, associated with the Tackle Box, I will pass on this thread now, except to say I won 4.5k on Tiger today on a sport which is not corrupted like many others, though I can't understand why Molinari fcuked u on 12 and 15, hitting balls into the water when I could have collected 6.5k?

My brother got me into it and he does know his horses has he's northern security manager for bet Fred runs every race course north of Midlands

It's the most negative forum I've ever been on.

Let Mark give us tips and if you don't like it then go else where. He doesn't have to and some appreciate what he does.

People can't say what they like on here without someone else saying it's crap or don't use Korda or don't watch Nash there all Chavs.

Why can't people give constructive feedback or encourage people or point people i the right direction without saying there useless or give up the sport.

Another fine tip, was it 7th out of 11 at least there will be no bookies having to register for benefits 2moro, only joking m8! I think we should adopt a system on here that when somebody provides a tip (odds have to be say 6/1 or more) to others, if the horse loses there should be a £1 or £5 fine donated to a charity by the tipster. I had a punt yesterday David, it was very last minute dot com at Newmarket. The horse Beringer, had a morning tissue price of 2-1. I made it a 13-8 shot. I still would not have backed it at 2-1. It drifted to 4-1 though, and was massive value in that market IMO. So I had to back it, and back it I did.

I done the same over six accounts, in three minutes. Wish that I could have got even more on, but bookies are big girls blouses really these days.

I gave £20 to a homeless man the day before, and roughly £60 in charity sponsorship to friends in the past two weeks. I tend to give, when I win or lose Bumble. I hope no one backed Dingo Dollar at Cheltenham, as I said not to, but that post was deleted.

When you do see Gary, remember to tell him that Mark said that he is a noddy pest controller, who catches small diseased fish. Tell him it was Mark who cursed him forever, for the 'Littlebrook Linear'... He already knows well enough, but I like to remind him quite regular David.

There is corruption everywhere David. I have very strict rules about my punting, and I stick to them hard and fast. Only horses for me. Nothing else. Only on a Saturday, or big festival meetings, G1 tracks only. The corruption comes at a lower level in the main. The way the handicapping system works in the UK, means that trainers have to play the game. Knowing the 'game', means that you can see a bit more clearly what goes on.

I would never bet on athletics, never. Sometimes it costs me. During the recent world cup, I missed a big opportunity. After Portugal had played one match... Ronaldo scored, and he was odds on for the golden boot. Harry Twobobenham Kane, was shoved out to 16-1. England had not played a game. 16-1 was a stupid price, we had a very easy first phase. So I started getting as much on as possible at 16-1. And laid Ronaldo at odds on. But I bottled out, and stuck to my rules quite quickly.... No large investments on anything but horses. I should have got a lot more on. But rules are rules. Harry got two in our first game, and the rest was history. I made quite a bit, but should have made a whole lot more. Rules are rules though.

Reacting to markets, and human interpretation of those markets, can be very profitable indeed. Humans are not infallible, and mistakes get made through emotion, and overreaction.

Mark has already explained elsewhere about beating the markets. If you find horses that are overpriced and back them and then the price crashes you can then lay the bet off on the exchanges meaning basically you can't lose.

Exactly Blondini . Back them at high odds and lay them off at lower odds is a way of insuring your original stake.
Loch ness monster placed 3rd and was available at 25-1 most of the morning. If you got on at those odds you would have just almost quadrupled your money. if you got 18-1 you just trebled your money. Not bad I'd say.

I've had a couple of punts today. Magna Grecia in the 2000 itself. Ryan is on the wrong one IMO, which makes the market for MG. I'd make this horse a 3-1/7-2 shot. 5-1 is to big. He's been backed accordingly. He's an e/w bet to nothing at 5's. Most of these, including the fav, are not going to stay 1m today. This horse will. I've had a saver on Madhmoon in the same race at 8-1.

1.50. Power of Darkness, 7-2. Should be fav, I'd make this horse a 5-2 shot today. False favourite, who maybe well handicapped, but no run under his belt, and never run at HQ.

Since I posted an hour and a half ago. The price for Power Of Darkness has collapsed. 7-2, into 9-4. That's a third nigh on it has shortened. The money has caught up with the system. I have a lot on, at 7-2, and some big win doubles the pair.

As mentioned earlier by Cramthenet... If I was a 'back to lay' punter... I'd be laying POD right now at 9-4 and 2-1 on the exchanges... For a guaranteed win, without a horse even running. I'd make a fair few quid even allowing for fees. Even more if it goes 7-4. That is not my style or game though. But it is there, if it was.

If you buy at a good price, you can sell, at a profitable price. That's life. Not just gee gees.

I struggle to get the money I want on early enough, in other peoples names at the right prices. It's hard work keeping accounts open. To be a full time pro, you'd have to give it your full attention. I would not want to do that, and never would.

Glad someone else understand s the principle of back to lay as a way of insuring your bet. Lots of tricks available to punters to give yourself the best chance of making some profit.

You are welcome mate. I won more money on that horse, than I have ever won on any horse, ever before.

Today was such a great day. Voice has gone I screamed so hard through that last furlong. Nothing beats free bookie money, nothing at all. It's just the best money that there is.

That was a 5* punt that horse today. The market, was so wrong with the fav, how Magna Grecia went off at 11-2 is beyond me. It was double the price that it should have been. I just kept backing it, and they kept allowing me to as well today. Only because it was a big race. Happy days.

Yesterday just got better and better.

Two of the biggest races of the flat season in the US & the UK. The 2000 guineas and the Kentucky Derby.... Both had big market mistakes. The Kentucky Derby last night, was a great example of a big market discrepancy. I know NOTHING about US racing. But there was a situation yesterday, where the well backed favourite in the US, Maximum Security... Was more than DOUBLE the price in the UK. Yesterday evening, this horse was 4-1 in the US and shortening... And 9-1 in the UK, everywhere...VALUE. I got £300 on in £50's, over six accounts. None of those accounts are in my name. Maximum Security won and was disqualified, I got paid out as first past the post, and got my money anyway.

I knew NOTHING about that horse.... I just know about markets, and mistakes that are made. If you are backing 4-1 shots, at 9-1... You will win lots of money in the long run. Luck will come and go, but math will override that in the long run. If you are buying houses, that are worth £500k, for £300k... You will make lots of money in the long run. It's pretty simple really. It's called mathematics.

I've had a punt today.

Remarkable, 4pm Ascot 16-1. The big handicap of the day. This horse was going places for Gosden two years ago, he won a big 7f handicap over CD on his last start for Gosden. A year off (standard for the trainer), before returning for O Meara four weeks ago. He ran very well. Pivotal colt, out of a Cadeaux Genereux mare... He will love the ground. O Meara stable is in red hot form, everything is running out of its skin. I cannot see this horse out of the first 6. Off the same mark as his CD win, he should run very well.

Remarkable broke down. Something happened as he came out of the stalls.

I had the placepot up at Ascot yesterday for a fiver. Five out of the six winners. I won a lot of money yesterday on some of these horses, just not on Remarkable who was my main punt of the day. The placepot alone paid handsomely yesterday. 120K+ entrants for £1. Most clueless, picking colours, numbers or names. Value. Only 226 got it up, I had 5 of them.

Newbury 4.55 today. The Stoute horse, Alhaazm. I'd make this horse favourite here. 6-1 is a big price. Value.

The current fav, is perfect and makes the market, stepping up 4f in trip, first time out. Loads of money for him, mainly because he is the brother of a famous horse. So what.

The Stoute horse is very solid, off 77 here, he should run a very big race first time in a handicap. I'd make him a 3-1 shot. 6's is big. I hope he drifts some more! He is likely to take a big step forwards today.

Well, first time we agree Cramthenet.

Oaks day at Epsom. I am on Frankellina at 25's & 16's.

14-1 is still value for the filly today. She is the one in this field, that should take a massive step forwards today. She has the talent, it's just her greenness that could be the problem at Epsom. Her performance at York when losing a lot of ground, was very good on just her second start. I'd mark her up 3l for that. On just her third start, a very big performance could be coming today. She will love the 1m4f. A lot of these will not...

14-1 is worth an e/w punt. She's still a touch of value.

Jim, any more of your malarky, and I will feed your 50th celebration pop ups to the dogs.

Frankalina ran really well. Slow pace, and she made up a lot of ground to finish on the heels of the leaders. 6th of 14. The race was not run to suit those at the back unfortunately. She needed a good gallop.

I have steamed right into two today, all my money was down last night, but I was to busy to get on here till now. One of the horses, the price is long gone.

I would not back it at current prices, but it may drift a bit before the off. That horse is Spanish City in the 5.50pm at Epsom today. I backed it heavily at 7's and 13-2 last night. It's now 7-2. I would not back it at that price personally. I would want at least 5-1.

The other horse, is Pubicise in the 2.00pm at Epsom. I backed this at 11-2 & 5-1 last night. It's currently 9-2 best price. It's going to love the step up in trip. 9-2 is still a fair price. I have a lot of money on both, and lumpy win doubles as well. Proper bet today.

yes but if the 1 that wins is a decent price you finish quids in. in the last few days I've given winners of 10-1 16-1 and 20-1. this is the long term strategy......back horses at good prices and the winnings more than cover the losses. you will never see me putting up short price favs....plenty of them get beat as well.

Well done Cramthenet. Sounds like you had a great Ascot. I did not punt, until today. I saved myself, for one horse. Unfortunately, I got quite a lot of stick on here last week. No desire to put up any horses after that. I also got it on other forms of social media. More of my missus being a whore.

Well, today, I had £780 on Cape Byron at 12's. And £1300 at 10's. All to win. It went off 7-2. I told Jason Rider this morning, I might lay £500 of it off, it went 5's or less... But I let it all ride. I've been backing it for a while. My friends were all on at 7's & 8's this morning.

I won over £25K today. A very good day indeed. What a shame that it never got posted on here eh.
