I'm looking for a really good liquid glm. There seems to be quite a few on the market but they nearly all have that horrible non natural (dye?) to them. Does anyone know of any good ones?

The term " GLM Liquid" can be quite misleading. Just take a look at CC Moore's description of their version. It's basically fish protein hydrolysate, mussel meat ( not GLM ) and an unspecified amount of actual GLM ! All this for £ 18 a litre when you buy 2 litres. It's commendable that they actually inform you of this, as many other suppliers won't. I would rather buy actual GLM powder and then use that in various ways. You can coat hookbaits straight out of the pan, use it in stick mixes, PVA bags and base mixes. If it's a liquid that you really want, just stir some GLM powder into whatever liquid you fancy, such as fish hydro, fish sauce, shrimp hydro etc.

Ourons claim to do a pure uncut GLM hydrosolate. I can't vouch for it in any shape or form as never used it but could be worth some further investigation. It's not a product I've seen listed anywhere else.

There's no such thing as a proper liquid GLM.

Try to source the best quality GLM powder and go from there, I personally wouldn't be buying this type of liquid from a bait company.

Remember seeing a Vid of Terry hearn. Just mixing some GLM powder with water to give his freezer bait some added attraction.

Bit if your looking for an actual glug. I know Essential baits do a GLM one. Probably Glycerine based like a lot of them.

I seem to remember last time I was in Wing Yip they do frozen bags of whole giant GLM. Liquidise that, I can't see you being able to buy any better from angling supplies. You could always add a preservative to the liquid if you wanted to, or anything else for that matter, even bulk it with something, or preserve and bulk at the same time, glycerine etc.

I couldn't be arshed with the shells, sure the fish'd like them though. I think the Wing Yip ones from memory were shell less, or half shells, certainly not in their shells and they were BIG!

Just buy betaine and add it to whatever liquid you are using. It's far more predictable as with glm you never can be sure of the betaine content, and other factors such as fat content which may, or may not affect results depending on your point of view.

Nash do a mussel blend which is really good.. expensive for how much you get but it's better than any other glm liquid

Agree with a lot of what has been said.

I used to by mussels from the fishmongers but they were precooked, orange, liquidise and they go green, add anything you want really and add it it to boiled baits

I suppose one option would be to soak a load of powder and rehydrate it, but if you up your limits to the max you could roll lake water would do this, depends what you are wanting to use it for
Are you sure?
