Hi everyone! Currently sat at home with a broke ankle and a huge cast so fishing is out of the question sadly! Has anyone got any suggestions for a good carp fishing book to get stuck into?

Anything written by Dave Lane or Terry Hearn will do the job. Take a look at the Coch y Bunddu website as they always have a huge selection of fishing related books to choose from

Casting at the sun and fifty years a fisherman both great books but not just about carp

Also YouTube 'go fishing' - hours of the old John Wilson fishing show on there if you aren't just interested in carp fishing 👍

And try to find a copy of the the carp strikes back 👌

Never understood why more books aren't on kindle. Costs little to put them on and would sell loads as people would buy to read on the bank, rather than potentially mess up a physical copy.

I bought the Mist on Kindle and just stopped reading after the first chapter, is just not the same to me the illustrations/pictures are a big piece of a angling book.

(I read around 8 books a month on my Kindle)

Gone fishing Mortimer and Whitehouse, Hutchies books, Terry Hearns.

I know a good place - Clive Gammon.

Not a single mention of carp.

So many variables depending on taste and age Technical, story telling, bounty hunters etc.
Anyone fishing early 80s will want a different read - I loved the carp strikes back, Tiger Bay and Savay.

I recently read carp journey and loved it. Spugs books are awesome and enjoyable. I collect books and really like relatable ones, Hearn and Lane books are good, but it's like me reading about marlin fishing, the time, life etc. is not something I have or would ever want.

If it's your first foray into books I'd get one that includes waters you fish or have fished and matches the type of angler you are, then during your recovery your head will be spinning with thoughts of trying different things that are attainable

Mark cunningtons books the syndicate series, Illusions of maya, And Keith Jenkins books

All are good reads
the fiction side rather than the reality “ caught this and then went here and caught that” style of book.

oz holness book is a recent favorite. comes across as a laid back but extremely determined angler between his shifts working as a fireman. very well written & some great pictures of some huge fish. he has done a few podcasts over the years & they are worth a listen if you have some time.

just saw that daryl peck is selling his big carp buzz books for 19.99 at the moment. definitely worth the money.

Micky gray ones are worth a read and forgotten chapters/northern chapters
