Looking for a good set of warm, waterproof and durable salopettes
What would you guys recommend to buy or avoid? Ive already got a coat that i am happy with. Money isn't too much of an issue

Been using Shimano for the past few years. First one that actually keeps me dry, contrary to carp brands. Not too warm, but I dress warm under it.

Have a look at the shooting / game sports brands - deer hunter are excellent.

Aldi Crane - cheap cheerful and as warm as many of the other carp taxed jobs - cheap enough to but a new set every other year!

If money is no issue I would recommend the Snugpak salopettes with the korda waterproof trousers.
Snugpak is more than warm enough and korda gear is excellent

I'm still using my salopettes I bought 5 years ago from Aldi. Still warm and waterproof. Can't remember how much I paid but it wasn't a lot and I was expecting to need to replace every year or 2 but haven't had the need so far

Snugpak and Kroda over trousers
The best you will find are those aimed at boat/game fishing from the likes of Simms and Grundens. Prices range from £300 to £700 for their Gortex bibs, which are 100% waterproof, very well made and designed for fishing. For less demanding work, i.e. carp fishing from bivvies
... Fox 25k salopettes are very good. I use them when bank fishing and for the money (only £140) are very decent. They also do a matching jacket, which I found is very good. Look at the ratings, as that'll tell you what you need to know. You want a minimum of 20k. Most fishing bibs are 10k or less, so pretty useless in steady rain, OK if only used to pop out from a shelter for a few minutes.

My breathable waders are only 13k, and yes, they are waterproof. I wonder if some manufacturers might be a tad optomistic in their ratings.
