I'm the worlds worst when it comes too chopping and changing baits. Generally meaning i have kilos of different baits sitting around. I fancy just pouring all the baits into 1 bucket and using a mixture as my freebies. I don't fish enough to want to get a bait established. For some reason though my head just doesn't want to do this having spent 20 years just fishing over the same bait as my hookbait. Anyone else tried this approach?

Yes, I have been using a mixture of 3 different companies shelf-life baits, I was using them separately but just decided to grab a handful of each and put them in one bag as I wander round and fish, they have worked just as well together as they did on their own.

Likewise, used to use just one type of bait (in 2 different sizes) with the same hookbait, now use 3 different boilies as freebies (from the same company) with a completely different hookbait. Seems to work just as well.

Try not to overthink it. I believe we credit carp with a lot more intelligence than they have. IMO they don't care whether an area has one bait flavour/type or one hundred they are just on the lookout for food.

I blend complementary baits, e.g. a high fishmeal bait with a sweet, rich of sugars bait.
It works well for me

I use bait from one provider mainly but often end up getting some others if a good deal is on offer. I then proceed to mix these up and use as loose feed or to pre-bait and find it works well.

I've always done this as I always want something very different to the other. At the moment it's a Krill based boilie and a birdfood based fruit, keep the fish guessing for longer, if fish guess

Just mixed 7 different baits together in bucket and will use completely different pop up to fish over pretty sure all will be eaten.
