I travelled over a hundred miles to the outlaw pro shop in billericay,absolutely loved the place, would not matter one bit to me who my money goes to. Tough for the smaller shops who I don't think stand any chance these days due to the interweb.

Yep, I like it in there. There's loads of Perch in the tank at the moment.

Unfortunately the powerhouse of A.D etc will eventually shut down most angling shops as they struggle to compete with their prices etc. just look back 10 years and think how many decent local tackle shops their was to now.

I have it in my head that Geoff at ABS is taking over the outlaw pro shop at Cottington

Never found angling direct to be that cheap on anything I need and often they don't have what I want in their shops. Thier sea fishing and fly fishing department's are poor as well.

Poor is not the first word I would use lol

Gutted found out yesterday my local tackle shop is closing end of this month due to a family death the great man that owned it passed in January and his family have decided that they can't run it his wife is retiring the daughter doesn't do anything in the shop and speaking with the son he said it was financially not worth it he would need two new staff members to replace his mum and dad who would then be on minimum wage also he would want people with fishing and tackle shop experience which is hard to find his dad was an all round angler with a wealth of knowledge which is basically un replaceable
Sad loss on Ken and the shop been going that tackle shop for over 35 yrs the type where you could knock at 8-9 at night for a pint of maggots and some starlight's not worth getting out of the chair for but he would he's even gave me his own bait so I could fish a club shore match not knowing whether the diggers would have fresh bait for him to go with the following day rip Prescot angling
