I think you'd struggle. I have a Superb Estate and I think I'd have trouble getting 2 people's gear in. I had a Ford S-Max before. That seemed quite a bit bigger.

Look at something like a VW amarok. That is the closest thing that drives like a normal car that would take that sort of gear. I had the v6 and it was really nice. Comfortable leather seats, infotainment system with all the bells and whistles like car play, reverse cameras, parking senors etc and it took a lot of gear

My superb mk2 easily took 2 people's gear for France trips, not sure what other estate if any has more load space. See my previous post about the kodiaq too

As mentioned previously, i'm going down the route of a pick up, 5 seats and enough space in the back for when go camping as well.

A big people carrier like a Galaxy or Grand Picasso would probably work. Ford Grand Tourneo Connect would be the other option, that's what I plan to get next.

My wife had a Galaxy and the Verso has more useable area inside,I don't know how as from outside the galaxy looks far bigger

took friends superb to France with more than we needed and still had headroom, great on fuel too

I also managed 3 people in my superb with 2 lots of fishing gear. Was tight and no mats but we made it lol

If not buying new worth a look at the Galaxy/Sharan/Alhambra which were at 1 time the same car but for styling. If you can't get all your gear for 2 in one of those theres no hope 
Remove the rear seats, add a roof box if you want.
Worth a thought, you can also get boxes to fit on rear cycle carriers too, also dedicated rear carriers/boxes, lots of options.
Edit, and if you can be bothered and your rear seats are fixed/bolted in, take them out, tell your insurance though, classed as a interior modification, did that for years in our Berlingo.

Years ago I got 3 people plus 3 lots of gear in a 1997 Megane Coupe, I drove Sheffield - Surrey in a very cramped position but we got it all in

Yes 3 of us used to do weekends at Orchid in a Ford Orion.
Roof rack used to take 3 rod holdalls and all the gear for 2 nights went inside.
Things like bedchairs and brollies with overwraps were so much smaller then and for everything else we managed to put in ex-army rucksacks.
Then I got a Renault Clio, that took two of us with no roof rack, the backs seats went down and the rod holdalls went in long ways and rested between the two front seats

I'm not a new car buyer, hate credit lend/lease, so everything is cash or debit card. There are some decent bargains to be had.
I normally get 3 years out of a used car before I have killed it, usually bumped over rough tracks round a lake and added around 100,000 miles through travel to work and back.
