The original Shimano Baitrunners.
They should have stopped modernising the range from the point of the 6010/8010's. The baitrunners since then are not so good, build quality, materials and the like.

The D and even oc are well worth a look. Closer to an actual ‘original' baitrunner and very robust

I have a pair of Shimano 8000 XTEA
that I use on my Barbel rods AND !! got the amazing Felindre Dragon Washers fitted !! that makes a brilliant clutch an awesome clutch
the XTEA range gears were the best ever made!......... apparently due to production cost ?? they changed the material made ( or was it because they wont wear out ?) along with the fact they have 7 bearings make them a rolls royce of reels IMHO
miles better than the new range unless you can spend out on their Thunnus reels that are amazing reels

Are these the silver ones?
Edit - I believe these were the XTE, I had a set, wish I had kept them but I sold off my small water set up
Other than sentimental value, can't say there is much I miss if I am honest, it's all replaceable. Tackle and equipment has progressed a very long way, the only thing that grinds me is the extortionate prices and everybody trying to make a killing out of the pastime, new model, upgrade 5 because the got it wrong the previous 4 times etc etc!
Reels are a classic for me. Had my infinity's for near on 20 years and loved, them, faultless. Looking back great big dirty things with a clutch that took forever to adjust and a crap line clip but other than that bullet proof, I can't imagine the bling f today lasting anywhere near that long without wanting to kind of cheap plastic cove that either costs a fortune or is phased out so you have to upgrade
They are churning reel models out left right and centre now, based on a 20 year life, what I guess us anglers want, I wonder what the reality is!!!
