my post was a tongue in cheek humorous loosely based on true facts !
sorry it upset you it wasnt intended too !!
so here is the way I see it most kids dont feel the cold anywhere near as much as adults
with the right clothing neck warmer hat gloves he is not going to get cold ? and tucked up in 5 season duvet of sleeping bag he will be toasty down to well below freezing temps
but my suggestion would be possibly these heated jackets/waste coat with a power pack in the pocket motorcyclists wear if you still think he may get cold
out of interest I know of 3 people now that never knew when they went fishing they would not go home but died on the bank thru fuking stoves or heaters
the most recent one had used a Cobb cooker outside his bivvy
BUT when it started to get cold he moved it very close to the OPEN DOORWAY and went to sleep they say the fumes built up inside inside and killed him

What about a wood fired stove with a flue? Probably need a customised flue if some sort to angle out the door.

Trust me you haven't upset me, an old fella giving it the big un behind a screen for the purpose of a social media audience is far from upsetting, more highly amusing.
We all know the potential dangers of gas in an enclosed environment don't we? You'd have to be naive not too. Incidentally It's not only a risk to carp anglers either. campers, caravans and motor homes all use gas in enclosed environments, so it's a potential hazard to literally thousands every day.
You quoted deaths you've heard from anglers using gas etc, tragic I know, but to put it into a bit of perspective you'll find many more people drown whilst fishing then die of carbon monoxide poisoning on the bank every year. You'll probably also find more anglers catch weil's disease then die from gas as well, yet a lot take the piss over someone using hand sanitiser on the bank 🤷🏼♂️.
But just to make it clear once again, I have no intention of using gas nor was I advocating using gas in my post, I was just asking if someone uses an alternative as ‘I really don't fancy using gas'.

I honestly don't think that you can beat the old hot water bottle. One in the bed and one up the jumper while sitting around and the boy will be toasty.
Some people swear by hand warmers in the socks but can't say I've tried them.
You are fighting a losing battle trying to heat a bivvy with a battery, there is no insulation.

Small window slighly open and the door 20 cm open, burned for 1 hour PPM: 0
With the bivvy slightly open at the front and back, you will have even more ventilation
Don't see where there is any danger with sensible use, always ventilate your bivvy, on cold winter days without wind be extra careful and and always turn off the heater when you decide to go to sleep.

Hot hands foot warmers and decent merino socks are a godsend - I've tried expensive electrically heated socks and they're a waste of time . . .warm feet is the most important part and the key to staying warm IMO!

I have 3 pair Nash ZT Polar Socks for the day damm warm, + on cold nights i always sleep with Nash slipper and thermal socks on in my bedchair specifically buyed them to sleep in on cold days and never suffer from cold feet in my sleeping bag.
Plus if you have a run you no longer have to look for your shoes in the dark.

I've just bought a wrap for my SLX V3 bivvy and I've got a peach skin cover and a small water bottle if needed so glad I got all of this as I'm out now and I'm lovely and warm on a night,last night it hammered it down so zipped door down untill I wanted a drink and it was back up for ventilation when stove went on.
Nothing wrong with bit of central heating every now an then if you ask me 😂😂😂
