Very true. When it first came out it was great as it was pretty much the only one out there. Now there's top quality content everywhere you look so it's not as simple as setting up a mic and chatting to your mate.

Isn't that what a Podcast is. Normally one or two people chatting with the addition of a mike. That's what makes them so appealing. Plus anyone can put one out there. Anyway new episode of the Carpcast released tomorrow with Mark Holmes for those interested.

I've listened to them all, the guests, when they can get a word in are interesting but listening to the hosts "banter" is like a night spent catching eels and bream.

For sure, I think that's my point. At first two guys chatting about carp was interesting, but after a bunch of episodes you need to keep it fresh with something genuinely interesting.
I'll listen to the Holmsey one as he normally comes out with stuff that makes me chuckle (sometimes intended, other times not ).

Like most I love anything carp, but to listen to those two just grates on me, Jamie and his oneupmanship, a fishing career that gets longer dependent on who he talks to, Mark never says anything of much interest and Holmes and his third person spiel...Good on them for carrying on, and good luck to them, they are at least doing a better job than I ever could but I feel the market as changed, slicker production, better guests and thankfully no tales of road rage, dog breeding and Mr angry...
I'll still listen to it but I certainly won't go out of my way to.

The podcasts are self defeating for alot of interviewees. They cannot contain their conceit but expose themselves simply as ordinary anglers, not very good and certainly without any original thought. Ian Russel is the king of this, followed by , Leon Bartropp.
