Jamie Clossick does an awesome podacst called "the carp cast" He's great crack and is big in the industry, great angler but mainstreamly unknown..hes the creator of The Northern Angling Show & also VIP carp holidays which one day I will definitely be partaking in after all this C19 nonsense is over.

Who would you consider the top three carp anglers at the moment and why?
Unfortunately, or should i say fortunately, the top 3 are sat in an inconspicuous swim hauling, far from the madding crowd and nowhere near any form of social media, just doing what they do best ... with nothing to prove to no-one
Next time you´re on the bank, salute the ol´tosser in the swim next to you, minding his own business, without a brandname in sight

One is a mate of mine who fishes his local waters and catches, despite recovering from brain tumours, on limited time and resources. He has been down and out, beaten the odds and lived. His fishing time is well enjoyed and deserved.
Then there are others who want no publicity, who just want to enjoy their fishing with no pressure to perform by sponsors. Many of these anglers keep to themselves.
Just because an angler is 'famous', does not make him a 'top angler'. Current media has made it so that anyone can be famous if they push themselves forward enough, and that is not just anglers😉
Many celebrities with no talents or skills...
I learnt far more from older generation anglers in my local club as I grew up than I have from most of the current big name anglers. The most important lesson was always look for the fish, work out where to put your bait and find what the fish want to eat.

What actually constitutes a top carp angler..?
Is it someone who catches a lot of fish from all types of lake,or venues,in all conditions and uses social media and platforms like you tube to self promote ..would that be a top carp angler,and in the never ending circle of getting likes and online praise...and all the while promoting this or that venue,often to the detriment of other people and their enjoyment,not to mention the tackle,'it's the best thing since bread was sliced..
Or...
Would a top angler be someone with a strong connection to the countryside,and the natural environment, promoting ,leave no trace,and respecting the lakes and others,catching a few fish along the way,holding down a job and being with their families,not trying to get a sponsorship deal or recognition, other than a sense of self satisfaction..someone I could learn from regardless of age...and themselves willing to learn as well..
I haven't met a top angler,for a long time,especially one that can think for themselves,....indeed some of the best anglers I know,don't fish for carp,as surely as night turns to day,carp angling is as manufactured as instant as you make it..
However,I love carping,because..I look to no one,and fish to my own expectations...and respect the countryside..

I think the op is new to the sport and just wants to learn by watching a few helpful videos.He has asked a few questions on here to try and get information from others and now is just trying to do a bit of learning from videos but wanted to know who was and wasn't worth watching

Carp fishing for me, and always will be is about catching the biggest fish in the lake. The above 3 are masters of it, target fish after target fish after target fish
Not a stock pond, not a runs water, au natural as it should be, at one with nature that has usually taken its balance to create these special fish
The other side of carpfishing is, it's not about carp fishing it's about some bum trying to be famous and polish his ego, desperate to be be a famous carp angler who in reality has caught **** all

That entirely depends on where you're going fishing.
If you're lucky enough to avoid the crowds and fish on exclusive syndicates, then the likes of Terry Hearn, Darrel Peck and Dave Lane.
But, if you are targeting day ticket lakes like Linear, or Bluebell, which are always rammed, then Tom Maker, Kev Hewitt and Mark Bartlett.
Personally, I think you're wasting your time though. Your best bet is to just go fishing, use whatever the going bait is on that lake. Then, go where the fish are, if you can, and use good rig with a sharp hook that can be easily presented over a clean area.
That may sound simple, and that's basically because carp fishing is.
Sometimes you can have too much information. Just do what you do, keep it simple and your catch rates will improve over time.
For example, Tom Maker is an absolute machine on Linear. But, he doesn't do anything special, he just keeps it simple, goes where the fish are and puts in a lot of effort.

I see your point. That's why I always go round the lake and talk to whoever's there about where's he fishing and what he's using. Local knowledge is always valuable.
