Anyone stupid enough to not know you should have a life jacket on in a boat shouldn't be anywhere near a boat. I'd love to be a fly on the wall of any law suit saying Danny Fairbrass was responsible for my death because i watched a video of him on YouTube and he didn't have a life jacket on so it's his fault I died 😂😂
Whilst it's blatantly obvious you should wear a life jacket, if someone doesn't then that's their choice and they will have to (or not) deal with the consequences.
If Darrell Peck started shooting other anglers in his videos then by the same logic it would be his fault if I started doing it 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

I've just checked the note he sent out, they're actually buoyancy aids not life jackets, which he makes a point of pointing out. His note states that any non swimmers must supply their own life jackets, and anyone using the buoyancy aids must familiarise themselves with the correct use label clearly printed on the inside. Hopefully, if the worst was to happen it would be enough to keep him out of court.
I had to wear a life jacket at work once or twice, for dock frontage work, at no time was I given any training in how to wear one, this was for an international company who were normally sh1t hot on H&S.

Just another scraping the barrel slagging off rant by goggle box carping experts. The sheer negativity aimed at named anglers this year is pityful. The slippery slope is now a sheer cliff....

It was drilled into to us to wear life jackets in the 90's after those chaps died at Savay. Yeah maybe a bit strong it's your fault but I've had enough of the people who should be setting a good example.. If I seen it on the bank I'd 100% say something... if I seen it being filmed on the bank who knows ??

I'd put a bet on if you saw it being filmed you'd not say a word. That's why you're on a forum having a rant instead of sending a letter/email/message to all of those companies and anglers you think should or could have done better and worn a life jacket in their content.
Be a far better use of your time I reckon.

The tools at football matches who shout pearls of wisdom at pro players for the entire match spouting how they could do better blind folded etc seem to have adopted angling as a temporary platform to continue brainstorming until such a time that allows them a return to their natural habitats lol .

I remember the sickening feeling i had at that time when savay boys drowned and the guys on wrasbury....i never knew them but it upset me....always worn a life jacket since fullstop.

On my syndicate you have to use one, infact if you don't you use a life jacket you are banned instantly. You could be 1 day into a £1000 a year ticket and it's gone without a refund, what I will say tho is when you first join he makes sure you no how to use one and will show you which is good

I've sent emails to two of the largest manufactures of carp gear asking not to put out content with people wearing no life jackets over the last year.
what made put pen to paper is seeing two people wearing winter gear out in a boat on an inland sea.. i don't want any new or young anglers risking their lives.
If you are the top of your game at any sport you to be setting good examples.
I'm sure all the England football team wear shin pads and all the rugby team wear gum shields.
Carp anglers should wear life Jackets because drowning is lot worse than a broken leg.

Good post. I entirely agree that these guys should be setting a good example. Life jackets should be mandatory.
In fairness to some anglers they maybe wearing one of the smaller inflatable life jackets under their jumper/coat. I remember calling out a famous angler about a year ago about not wearing a life jacket in his social media post. But in fairness to him he replied and assured me he was wearing one, but it was one of the small ones that inflates on immersion and it was under his coat. So couldn't really argue that. Hopefully it was the truth 🤞🤷♂️

Talk about Nanny state where's this end next named anglers that film footage of their journey to the water must ensure they are wearing a seatbelt and not overloading the vehicle and to be sure give a verbal warning just in case they are copied and cause a safety concern for mindless brainwashed simpletons who may not hold the faculties to think for themselves.
