Big choice I know but what are probably the best rods for around £100?

What test curve Chris, length, requirements you to use ie - long casting, margin work, solid bags, etc?

Sonik Gravity 12ft 3.25lb for £60 a rod at total fishing. Or Shimano tx2s for 100 quid a rod at AD. I've owned both and they are both great rods, but also both distance orientated, so depends what you are looking for.

I've owned gravity 3.25's decent rod for casting but a bit lifeless currently using some Korda Greens 3.5 whilst some rods are being built. Only £90 each and deffo worth the extra

12' and currently using 2.75lb as rarely have a need to cast far, in fact most of my fishing these days is with a bait boat - I was thinking of going to 3lb TC for a bit more playing power if needed.

Just out of curiousity Chris, have you considered 10 footers? I rarely use anything else now for carp fishing. My 12 footers are now my pike rods. And I have some 12'9" rods for the odd time I need distance.

No, not suited to the kind of fishing I mostly do, definitely prefer 12's

Shortlist seems to be, in no particular order.

Esp Onyx
Korda Kaizen Green
Shimano TX2
Fox S3
Free Spirit Helical

But I'm not a fishing snob and if there are good rods available from what some deem to be lesser brands they would make the list too.

Original fox horizons might also be worth considering. S/h they go for about 50 quid a pop 3lb tc is a lovely rod

The Kaizen all day long

Another option for you is The Daiwa Crosscast Traditional rod, might be worth a look. A friend has them in 12ft 3lb test and really likes them.

I’ve got a set of 13ft Extreme TX2 rods, very good rods for the money. The others I have no experience of however.

If I were looking to spend £100 a rod, I'd definitely be looking at the secondhand market.
I've seen Ballistas, Daiwa Infinities and various other quality rods go for £100 each.
The rods I currently use are Nick Buss X-lite's that I bought for £100 each, superb rods, although difficult to find.

Has anyone got any longer term reviews on the kaizen green ? I’ve got the spod rod and I think it’s brilliant for the money. Been looking at the 12ft 3.5tc and wondering if it’s capable of casting 4oz bags/leads to a max of 100 yards

For 100 per rod look at the used market, you'll get way more for your money.

They're very good, I dont fish with bags but fish at distance through weed and whilst they are maybe a bit soft they get me where I wanna be accurately with a 4oz tournie lead

Comfortably hitting 100 yards with fluro without pushing it. There is more there but I haven't had to push them, so enough for me bud 👍
