They look great.
Did the hardcases come with the alarms, or did you buy them separately?

I can see the merit, of perhaps using a corkball off the lead flossed with worms or maggots. Should really give that a go.
It’s just the plain foam at night that does me in.😂
I suppose trout take artificial flies quite readily. But put a maggot or worm on and they are pretty friendly fish.
Can see me going down a rabbit hole with this.
I think a lot of us buy the zig aligner kits and just leave them in their bag unused, I certainly have.

I don’t know why but I’ve never really had a go with zigs at night. Hardly ever use them during the day as well to be honest.
But there’s just something about using a piece of plain foam during the night, I can’t get my head around how people catch fish on this method. No attraction or flavour.
Carp must have a lot better eyesight than I give them credit for.
I’m Interested to hear people’s stories about catching on zigs in the dark hours.
Does a full moon for example make a difference to catch rates.
And do you find you foul hook many fish using this method?
Cheers.

Broke my jag digging stick yesterday morning, sent Jag a photo of it, so just got back home from a 24 hour trip,(incidentally my longest trip on the bank all year, I’ve definitely got to try and change that, waking up by the lake is quite special).
Any how there’s a new digging waiting for me at home.
What a great customer service from Jag.
Thank you to Alex for sorting this out so promptly.

They look tidy.
Out of curiosity how’s the receiver reception. Is there any lag at all. I’m really tempted to get a set.

The two lakes I have in mind are flat tarmac type paths so I doubt there will be an issue there with the rear wheels.
However, as I’m on a waiting list for the rear wheel kit, I’ll take your advice and go for the powered front wheel first, then add the rear wheels if I think I’ll gain from them. My weekly Sunday sessions are usually 4-12 hours tops any how, so not a great deal of kit will be loaded.
Appreciate the advice.

Yeah, to be honest I dropped my ticket this year, after being a member for 34 years. Will probably re-join again in the future.

Has to be Muckboot wellies for me as well when walking through the wet grass.
Loads of decent walking boots around as well though. Scarpa, meindls always seem to get good praise. I still use an old pair of Brashers, must be getting on for 16 years old now. Certainly got my moneys worth out of them.

Shimano and the first baitrunner reel has got to be worth a mention.
Nash and the profile umbrella plus the Titan. The scope rods were laughed at, then all companies cottoned on to make them. The original optonic alarm.
The John Wilson twin tip rods.

The old Daiwa QD castizms are a nice reel. Do pop up second hand quite regularly. But can be a pricey.
But for a cheap and cheerful reel if you’re just getting into fishing again, the okuma inc 6000 are a lot of reel for the money, I had the anti reverse fault, credit to okuma they sorted this for me(two new reels once they received mine).
They’ve been fine ever since, and have had a fair few sessions on the seven in the winter for barbel winding in big 6oz feeders in high flows. Not a problem so far. Another option is a second hand Shimano aero GT 6010 perhaps, plenty around on eBay, but they are a baitrunners with a rear drag, if that’s not your thing.
