Interesting he thinks they are the best around.

What they give him will be a drop in the ocean now with pitchers raffle jobby backing it
Seems odd to see the ex Nutrabaits owner as one of their team, I guess he doesn't believe in the current Nutrabaits offering?

Not all that odd when you consider that Bill Cotham has been using RG baits for years and with Nashbait now gone Steve had to hang is hat with someone.

Not at all odd either when you know why he's not using Nutrabaits anymore. Plenty of information on why, here and on the internet.

What's with the hate for RG? Genuine question as I was contemplating switching to them next season.

Not sure it's a reflection on RG, more the man.

RG baits are great. Steve is a really lovely guy having met him on occasions. No idea why he's getting a hard time. Of course he's going to get a bait deal and of course he'll have to announce it.
Same as Gary Atkin going to Sticky and same as others from the Nash Bait stable getting new deals. All the best to them.

URGENT HELP NEEDED
This winter hundreds of sponsored anglers will be without bait at this critical point. We urgently need your support.
Anglers like Julian who have had their lives ruined by the Nashbait collapse- with flaked monster shrimp not getting through - just a pot of pop ups could help keep him keep hauling doubles out of the local village pond. Purchasing 5kg of sticky could help Alan hunt down more urban monsters.
Donate now - and ensure this Christmas that anglers up and down the land continue to get free bait so that social media is awash with heart warming tales of how the new brand has always been something they have admired and help realise their dreams.
And yes I know good people lost their jobs and that is very sad - I just don't know if I can keep facing the unveiling of these anglers on Facebook choosing the next brand with such scripted tosh. I used to get free bait from X in exchange for coverage - I now get free bait from Y.

Possibly the 'hate' could be linked to the fact they are now formally tied up with Capital UK Holdings which is who owns Capital Carp Competitions. There is a love/hate thing with CCC linked to the love/hate for Mark Pitchers who is now the Marketing Director for RG Baits as well as one of the two owners of CUKH/CCC.
I have never seen an RG bait and certainly never used them but if Big Bill has faith in them I am sure they can't be too bad.

Smurf, my memory keeps firing off every now and then, Didn't Bill at one time like Rollin Baits, I'm wondering if so why he didn't go that route, pm me if needed?...just curiosity t see if I'm right.
I seem to remember more about that. ie, the closeness of the businesses, but I could be completely wrong, it's been a long time.

Wasn't rollin baits Dave Moores company, if correct it would stand to reason Bill liked rollin as I'm sure Dave developed the big fish mix etc

I think Rollin did a lot with Nutrabaits, might even have been almost next door to each other. No idea why he didn't go to Rollin after selling Nutrabaits, maybe too closely linked and he wanted a clean break. I just remember in articles and podcasts (plus his IG now) he uses RG.

Rollin and nutrabaits go way back. Rollin used to roll all nutrabaits mixes before nutrabajts took rolling in house after bill.
As for RG the minute companies start dishing out free bait and salaries to multiple ‘field testers' that's me out moving forward.
It's hard enough to make a decent bait these days with the cost of ingredients and everything else without multiple share holders, testers and influencers wanting a slice of the pie.
Something has to give and each to their own but I got no interest in helping fund a bank trap
Lifestyle if I can help it

Steve Briggs is a gentleman - one of the nicest and most honest 'pro' anglers out there. It's a pity that there are not more like him.......
Thanks guys, that's pretty much my recollection too, I knew they were 'close' in more than one way, hence my thoughts re Bill. A syndi I used to be on Bill, Bryan and friends used to fish it, a heavily Nutrabaits dominated water and I'm sure the rolling was done by Rollin after a bailiff left who used to do it...iirc, the old grey matter fires correctly every now and then
All these Nash bait sponsored anglers bemoaning the loss of Nash bait. It wouldn't of been beyond the realms of possibility to club together and get someone to roll say Scopex squid so they all could carry on using...
But thinking about it. They would have to pay.. better to move on and get there bait free from somebody else with maybe for some a little bonus fee for using it.. The best bait they have ever used soon gets forgotten when free bait and money is involved..

True.
But honestly most of us would be happy to use bait from several companies.
I am a big Baitworks fan, but I'd happily use John Baker, ABS, or Essential B5.
There's a lot of ****ty firms, but there are quite a few good ones

I've used RG for years. Brilliant bait and great service every time.
Their profile is being raised by the likes of Bill, Steve and Mark being on board but, it's far from a "sell-out" to sponsored anglers. Don't think for a second that Gregg will let his standards slip, their bait is top quality.

Watched Mr Briggs new video last night, the cottage at The Avenue and plugs for RG Baits, that combo will give someone on here a coronary

Scopex squid changed, when it first come out what a great bait. But you are correct putting the hand in ones pockets changes things for a lot of people.

You'd better gave a good bait. You wouldn't want to blank at those prices.
