After having an esp hook years ago snap on me costing a fish, I never used them again.
I've just had a krank snap on me too costing me what felt like a very big fish 😓, so I'm after a hook that won't snap on me please. I didn't even play the fish very hard either which is worrying so deffo not using them again.

The Drenan conti has never let me down in over 20 years and Nash's brute is pretty decent too.

I do have some atomic hooks actually somewhere, I'll have to find them out. And I'll have a look at Nash ones as well. I have some Nash claws which are a nice thick guage but the eyes are bloody massive.

I use the carp spirit v-curve. Nice and strong, get amazing hook holds on bigger fish, no so much on smaller ones though. Imagine thats something to do with the difference in the way they feed though

Ridgemonkey beaked point, tough, sharp, and stay sharp.
I do sharpen the size 4s as the wire is thicker.

Another one for nash, really strong, pretty sharp and can be sharpened further pretty well. Shame they dropped the size 5 btw, come on now, that's just crazy. Esp hooks, yeah well, it's a feature:XD
I prefer Nash hooks, and they've yet to let me down, even with giant cats and sturgeon. When I've run out, I've used Korda hooks in the X series, and they've never let me down. I tried the Trig Hammers and thought they were made out of lead wire rather than steel, but I've seen they brought out a stronger version, so I will try again in the future. Very nice hook for slip D rig.

The 2 strongest I've used are Nash Brute and Atomic ones. Both are beasts, quite thick in the wire gauge.

I had a krank snap,when I checked it against the rest of the packet it was a slightly different colour.It had missed part of the strengthening process according to korda

I think the majority of the time a hook snapping will be because of a weird hookhold rather than the quality of the hook. Look at the number of very big fish caught these days on things like a krank. If you've been happy with them up until now and bin them after only 1 failure it doesn't make sense imo.

Makes no sense to me though I do get it...but...total confidence and 1 failure means swapping to a hook with no history in the hope 1 might not fail in the future

100% correct Ian. Snapped hooks are due to hitting bone and not penetrating properly.
But the fact still remains, some brands of hooks snap in this scenario, some hooks NEVER snap, they just bend out when it hits bone.
Me personally, I do not want any brand of hook that has a history of snapping. One day, you will need to stop a 50lb carp from getting into a snag. You will need to lock up and exert a full pressure that you have never previously done before, on the fish of your dreams to stop it. Want a hook that has a history of snapping in this situation? I bloody do not. I want to know that I can stop that carp in its tracks, without my tackle failing.
With the advent of sharpening, there is simply no need to use thin gauge weak hooks anymore. Use a thick gauge strong hook, which you can then sharpen to the ultimate degree.
Atomic are excellent hooks. Strong as an Ox. I've never had one snap in any scenario. Gardner hooks are excellent hooks, same as above. X versions of Korda are good.
When Atomic changed from the silver finish, to the black dull finish.... I managed to purchase 100's of packets of Atomic Chodda for around a pound a pack. Despite being able to get a couple of well known brands completely for free, I still purchased enough Atomic Chodda to last five life times. You can never have enough of a great thing. If you could speak to some of the greatest carp anglers in history who need to sing a company line.... On the sly they would tell you the same story. Just not publicly.
