Anyone involved with fox in the know if they have any plans in the near future to replace the fox rx+ with a new model, thinking of getting a set but they have been out some years now?

Anyone involved with fox will be sworn to secrecy on any new alarms as it would kill sakes of the current rx plus. I would imagine there will be a new one not to far away as Delkm has had two new alarms out since the rx plus came out. Hopefully it will be a bit better looking and smaller than the current versionas thats horrible and huge and the only reason ive never bought a set.

Definitely a new one in pipeline. However could be couple years away . I'd imagine it will have some sort of vibration setting as opposed to just a roller.

Can anyone see the need for any improvements other than cosmetic?
The old RX was pretty near perfect, the RX+ imo could only be improved with full control of the volume, not presets. Roller, vibration, multi led, what could make it better ?
Personally I'd hold off, if a new 1 is in the pipeline I'd buy a set of RX+ when reduced, if they are.

Agree, only a cosmetic change is required. At the minute though i cant see me changing from my ecu's at the moment as love them, but i do get bored of things quickly.

Agree, not been matched since in terms of options, but DXR had a rubbish transmitter and the LXR ate batteries.

Think this is correct Yonny, it was the DX, DXR and LXR that had vibration sensing. They had a fourth dial to adjust the vibration sensitivity.
Found the vibration on a roller a bit pointless tbh, nowhere near the Delkim sensor. I always thought it would work better if it locked out the roller wheel.
Maybe if they were to lock the wheel for forward takes in vibration sense but allow the roller to turn backwards for drop back it would be a best of both worlds for some people. I never saw the big deal with drop back signaling as you always look at the bobbin when you hear the alarm.

I had 2 sets of RX, bombproof, stupidly sold them for the newer better NTXR...which err...weren't, no vibration setting. Sold the NTXR and bought Delks, then back to Fox RX+ at the 1st opportunity. I used the vibration setting in winter for Pike they can be buggers for scoffing a dead bait on the spot so my alarms need that function. I think sometimes the developers are a bit too focused on Carp.

Iirc the RX was 1st launched as just that (RX Only, not digital), with roller and vibration, in later years they released the RX Digital, a so called transition to digital technology, same specs, not sure I noticed much difference between the 2

Off topic a bit. I was told last year that atts were going to launch a set with speakers in the head. I was told this by a tackle shop manager who I think got it from a rep. But never heard another thing mentioned about it. Not even Chinese whispers.

Yes i think the rx is still a great alarm ive still got 12 of them! 4 newer style writing on a set of 4 rod bars that were left in france, 3 on 3 rod bars and 2 on 2 rod bars and 3 older italic writing ones kept for spares.

Still using my dx's with att dongles. Not long had the dongles used a lxr receiver before and full wired before that. No need to change for me.

I did the exact same thing when they went from NXTR's to the RX.
Bought a full presentation set of 3 plus receiver from Eric's for full price (Think was about £700) and the week after they announced the RXs were coming out and all the NTXRs came out on sale for half price the day after.
Rang Eric's and they were having none of it initially until i told them i was within my 14 day cooling off period and would return them for a full refund. Ended the call by getting half my money back and negotiating a very nice price for a tempest brolly
Both of which are still going strong to this day

MK1 Delks and MK2 Microns. I don't think anything has really come close in terms of long term reliability.
Still use 25 year old ES alarms. I could buy dongles for them, then again I dont need alarms THAT loud as my eardrums are still in one piece at the moment.

This is correct , Dale from Dalelecronics has designed them and I've seen prototype pics but he said don't share them. They have a speaker which can colour customised, and can be also muted by on front with a twist or something. Also snag ears as standard. I believe a little way off yet tho getting to market.

I had dealings with the chap at Fulcrum many years ago when I had my Microcat, very nice helpful gentleman. At some point later I was talking to Phil at AT and mentioned my convo, good god did he get defensive.
One thing I don't like on alarms, set volumes, they should be infinity adjustable, my RX+ setting 1 is too loud for me, I don't need the next swim to know and I don't want to hear theirs!

I bought a presentation set of RX digitals (all blue LED, vibration and roller sensing) for £229 from a tackle shop in wigan about 15 years ago. They had the updated writing on the front and no battery life issues with the receiver.
Sold them as the dials were so tight you had to use pliers to turn them and the vibration sensing was pretty crap.

I just whizzed a piece of card across the wheel and can hear it still spinning for a second or two after...
I still have my original DXRs. Mine are S.A.H. stamped so they got sent off to Tackle Box for a service a year or so ago as the battery connectors were on their last legs. Zero charge and posted back to me. All working fine after 20+years
Also (from Fox) still got perfectly working sets of

and the recent RX+ (2 of which have been poo and had to be sent back/replaced)

When the i3 first came out I used them for everything, and the lack of socket wasn't an issue as I never did like the big illuminated Fox swingers back then.
However, when I started river fishing I liked having the illuminated swingers as I might have rod #1 20 yards to my left down the river bank and rod #3 20 yards to my right.
It was far more obvious which way I needed to run when I was woken by a run.
Note: This was a while back, I think the EA have a 3m from your rod butt rule in more recent years...

@Poms @Braders - I will WhatsApp you pics if you like. I have 10. 3 I am keeping for myself as I love them and will take a set to the grave with me

RX+'s are already the best alarms on the market. Apart from a cosmetic change can't see anything else they could do as using vibration sensing would be a huge backwards step imo.

I just saw that fox are releasing illuminated bobbins. Few months ago they released the new night light and safety sets. Guess the new alarms aren't coming then.
