Is this the ultimate shelter? I'm not fussed about space. Infact I love a compact fishing gaff. The main things are small pack down size, lightweight and easy to pop up and take down. Regular brolly type shelters are too long when packed down for my liking. I've got an atom plus (which I love) but I want something easier for work night fishing.
Any thoughts are much appreciated

I've also got a fox specialist brolly that I use in summer but reckon a bit more coverage would be a good idea as the nights draw in. I might just be making up reasons to buy more gear though.

The fox easy shelter plus is very good for a over nighter I have been loving it this year, I do have the tempest brolly 100 also but prefer to take the fox in the warmer month will bring the tempest out with over wrap when the temperature drops I do love the tempest too

Swapped my Fast n Light for a Tempest. The Tempest is superb, arguably quicker to put up than a Fast n Light, easier storage (not 6ft long) and superior coverage

I've got 2 tempests the v2 nylon bomb proof one. Strong frame and brilliantly made and the advanced. Weight difference is massive. Summer like the full vents on the advanced and how dark it is inside. Winter nylon with skull wrap. Dries quickly.more light. Also got the aqua brolly brillant bit of kit with the wrap but struggled with my nash bed fits in but tight. One thing I will say is never leave the front on them when packing away. It will damage poles when setting up.

The original Tempest Brolly V1 @ 4.4kg is the ultimate, followed by the V2 at 5 kg. The 100 is 5.5 kg. It winds me up how everything is getting heavier. Even the Lo Pro V2 put on weight

I know, Its because they always feel the need to "upgrade" which normally means putting vents and other needless stuff on a shelter that designed to be used open fronted.

I still use my v1 tempest brolly with skull cap in spring and autumn, Its a great little shelter. I only swap in the summer and winter for my Titan hide pro.

I'm the same still have a v1.. use it also with a skull cap all year except winter when I go for the wrap. Had a snapped pole on it but other then that still going strong and no leaks.
Only thing i would add would be the mozzi mesh but cant get hold of them anywhere now a days.

nice to see the love for the V1 & completely agree
picked one up with mozzie mesh, overwrap & extension a few years ago & it has done everything I have ever needed including plenty of family camping trips. can't see me needing to replace it anytime soon but I would by exactly the same thing or the closest I can get to it.

I know i have a 100 but im in sure if its a V1 or a V2 (it doesn't have any vents)
I have used it for years with just the infill panel but since starting to do nights the past 11 months, i opted to get a ground sheet. I got it just as the cold weather ended beginning part of this year.
This friday gone i used the ground sheet for the first time and wow, what a difference it makes to temperature and condensation. Plus it acts as the tension strap so you can get it to near perfect position, far easier to setup then i anticipated.
With this being said, I am eager to get a bigger bivvy, to have something a little bigger and more head room would be brilliant.
Money is tight at the moment so i'm pondering the idea of just getting a Skull Cap Overwrap for this winter, apparently it helps with the colder temps again.

The skull cap makes a massive difference, stops most condensation and prevents door drip.
My skull cap is permanently on the tempest.
The skull cap wrap might be a good option for winter sesh but an extra faff to set up.

Only label on it is carpstan. Its very well made good mesh and zips and top part like a heavy duty groundsheet materials green mesh and camo on sides. Never seen another.
