I'm going on to a new lake which is very different to what I've been fishing for a number of years. My fishing for a good while has needed a really good casting line my new water on the other hand is small, majority of the fishing is no further than 16 wraps so I'm looking for a really.good sinking mono that isn't like elastic

I was going to go with fluoro but I'd like to use my 10ft rods with my daiwa 20 tournaments which I think would make fluoro a bit of a pig to use, maybe I'm wrong?

The two monos I won't even consider are subline (so stretchy it's ridiculous) and syncro (just could not get on with it, found that it coils so badly)

At that range stick with fluro - 12/15lb should be fine . . .you just need to look after it / stretch regularly to keep the twist in check

Synchro XT is pretty manageable - just take care to pre soak for over and hour and make your you spool up the correct way and under tension

Pro clear in 16lb and also using Fox exocet in 20lb .37mm superb line really impressed with it 😉

Yes Synchro XT LOADED is diabolical
rubbish in comparison to Synchro XT NORMAL
OK the loaded will sink faster but normal will just take longer but will still sink very well and doesn't coil or have any of the nasty bits loaded has

I stick with Korda touchdown for these properties and because it is a very abrasion-resistant line that is strong on the knot

I had the normal syncro in .37mm and found it very wirey, tried stretching it out, walking the line out to try and remove the line twist and it would never go limp. Was really disappointed after so many people give it good reviews. Maybe it was a bad batch but it's put me right off

Same here.

I bought a spool of Synchro XT last year and didn't like it at all - surprising after all the recommendations.

I've gone back to Gardner lines.

If you can use a heavy sinking braid then the Thinking Anglers. If it has to be mono then 20lb Touchdown would be my recommendation.

Same here, it's wirey and coils all over.. Spooled up exactly as per the ESP video too.

I'll get my tin hat ready, but I've been on Korda Subline 20lb and it has excellent sining properties. I soaked it for about two days in washing up liquid and it went on a dream.

12lb GR60 but only the green one. The other colours virtually float

its the stretch of subline that I can't have. I get all mono has some form of stretch but subline is really bad

I threw subline away after 1 session on the Trent. It's supposed to be tough, but it stretches and rubs on snags, becomes frayed and is useless. In one 24hr session I had to cut off about 40 yards of it, then lobbed the lot when I got home.

Nothing has come close to 15lb CM90 yet for me. I'm currently trying the Technium which behaves a lot better than the Synchro XT, but it's early days.

I found it's like that until wet. I bought some cheap sweat bands off ebay and just get them wet and put over the spools before driving to the lake. Line is lovely to use then.

Does p line extrusion sink well ? I know it's low stretch but wasn't sure about it's sinking properties

I use the 15lb and is a great all rounder. Low diameter and stretch so I use for distance work
