I have just got rid of my sleep system- daiwa infinity it was awful couldn't get on with it bad back and cold. I have just purchased a solar sp tech Bedchair from tackle tavern second hand and am looking for a good quality bag. The bags I have been looking at are the Gardner carp duvet also considering the snug pack tech lite is this bag worth the extra £100 over the Gardner one?! Is there any other bags I should consider?

I have the Gardner Duvet compact, and can recommend it.
You won't get it back in the compression sack that it comes in, with the extra layer in it....
I am 6 foot 1 and 15 stone, fits me fine,
Most of the time I dont use the extra layer that comes with it, as its too warm.
Although, I can generate my own heat.
Radiator as my wife calls me, amongst other things....

I have the bigger Gardner bag and it's so much better and warmer than my old old bag.
Friend has the tech lites and says they are very warm, also pack down way smaller than the Gardner if that's of any concern to your needs.
I think the Gardner is a few cm wider too

I had the bigger gardner bag on my wide c-tec bed. I then sold it for s techlite which i didnt really rate at all. Zips are crap not wide enough and i was cold in it in october. Now use a fox ventec xl bag and love it. Very bulky mind but thats not an issue.
The Gardner bag has a really annoying bafffle near the head end that runs right across your upper back / neck. Mega annoying.

I bought a trakker 365 and it's perfect for winter, mega warm and also great for now when the liner is removed making it a 3 season bag......

I have the Gardner carp duvet, for me I couldn't justify the extra for the Fortis bag.
Used it all winter and has been great, plenty warm enough. Relatively light compared to some other 5 season bags.

I have the Gardner compact carp duvet, it's a lovely bag just a bit too big for me, I'm 5ft 8 and 10.6 stone, I find it too roomy and therefore difficult to warm up during the Winter with the excess space.
The baffle at the neck doesn't annoy me, and I either use the insert over me or underneath me as it starts to warm up in Spring.
During summer I lay on top of the bag and just use the insert to pull over me like a duvet.

Techlite for me, leave it on my bedchair all the time, never been cold in it and I fish throughout the winter, remove the top layer when it starts warming up. It also fits in the washing machine.

The gardner looks a great bag but of all the bags i've owned the warmest hands down is the rod hutchinson extreme 5 bag, it's big and heavy but brilliant for winter sessions and can take a layer out for 3 season. I've seen them recently on ebay for just over 100 quid.

I have the Techlite, I don't keep it on my bedchair at all times . .thats because of loft damage ,same for all sleeping bags
I contacted Snugpak direct, wanted an easier storage bag to store sleeping bag in ..Snugpak recommended the 40 litre waterproof dry bag ,with air valve ,this does a few things

My summer bag is a Carinthia Tropen, don't like these sleep systems, My tropen rolls up to the size of a lettuce. Got a built in mozzy net for the summer nights. Awesome kit, does me up until October / November, should I get a bit nippy I'll chuck my bedchair cover over for an extra layer

The proper Spanish Carinthia were the best nearly bought one but got a techlite and jungle bag instead..
Jungle bag been out at Ben very ill dane ,gave it to my mate..!

My only experience of Carinthia is this bag the Tropen but it's very impressive. I can't say a bad word about Snugpak though on the quality of their products, I have a fair bit of their gear, it's really good. My last sleeping bag was the snugpak elite softie 5, I loved the bag for it's comfort and warmth, if only it was just a bit more roomy and had a crash zip. This Carinthia Tropen has the comfort and warmth for the rating and the crash zips are top notch. I want snugpak to design and make a bivvy for carp fishing as I'd know it would be bob on.
My winter bag is one of them British Army mid 80's arctic bags, they made several different types of arctic bags but the mid 80's version is rated the best they made by the people that used them. That bag is also awesome, it's big enough to move in for long nights and extremely warm and comfortable. I don't mind the bulk and extra weight for the longer, darker nights as it's worth it. I've got no desire to change this winter bag but using this Carinthia tropen I can't help watch y/tube vids of their defence 1 and defence 4

Make a tiny cut on the baffle at the opposite end that you get out of, if that makes sense, and then pull all the stuffing out - sorted

Gardner carp duvet is decent. I Have it on a tracker levelite bed. Rate the bag highly for a stand alone bag. Ive just got myself the SP C tech sleep system bedchair and OMG its a game changer. The bed is incredible and the bag is very confortable and warm. If you can get the solar bag i'd try get that, not sure if you can buy them seperately?

I have had Gardner Compact duvet for a fair few seasons now and its a great product - warm, roomy and versatile (also 6' 1"/ 15+ stone) - I've even got used to the vaguely annoying baffle and it doesn't bother me tbf. It is bulky left on my SP C Tech standard (although it fits perfectly) and makes folding the bedchair flat a challenge however its not the end of the world. Was going to 'upgrade' to Fortis on this basis but after reading feedback on warmth and effective size (wiggle room) I've decided to stick with the Gardner - have a goretex quilted Edel Maya cover to protect it . .

The solar SP Tech sleep system bag is the most comfortable bag I've ever slept in, love the fact you can keep it as it is or sleep below just the top sheet, very very comfy. I am 6ft 6 and plenty of room to stretch out, and I always sleep on my side, but restup on my back.
Not sure if they sell this system seperately.
