I've recently bought a transit custom and I'm about to buy an Xtreme Power Porter. I'm thinking of investing in some sort of ramp to wheel it in and out fully loaded. What does everyone else use?

ive got a fibreglass wheelchair ramp that folds up, perfect especially as my mate found a pair of them in a skip

Anyone know if the Big Boy Tri Porter Deluxe is the same as the Xtreme power Porter without the electric motor or is it a completely different model altogether?

Plank and a couple of straps, although I don,t leave mine fully loaded, I leave chair and bed on it and a few bit in the under bag.

I had the powerporter with back wheels I had a length of wood with a tapered notch on the end which sat on edge of back of the van like 2 little feet .I got barrow in and out effortlessly in a small Berlingo van just couldnt put rods on due to angle going up .Really simple just powered it in took a couple of seconds

It's the same pal as I have just bought the extreme myself. I use a motorbike folding ramp for loading in the van.

I have a folding aluminium ramp which cost me about £50 posted.
Just looked on eBay to try and find it, but failed.
Did find TWO ramps for £54 though?

I bungee my ramp against my racking so it doesn't rattle around, when I used to have it laying loose on the floor it could get noisy

Same ramp as I have but terrible idea on the bungee - I would miss shtting myself at every bend and pothole and nearly stacking the van as I think I have been hit by a stray Russian war head...

@Scozza: Yeah, sorry...that's my wipes + sex toys shelf. Haven't organised it after the last dogging session. I've only just regained my ability to walk (and sit down) so will sort that tonight
@Chuffy: That's the one. I got an old aluminium kitchen draw handle and attached to it to aid carrying. It's not quite JAG level quality...but a little bit of customisation to keep me amused. I enjoy a little bit of DIY now and again

It's a VW Transporter T5.1 (2010 to 2015 model)
For anyone thinking of buying one, ensure that the EGR filter has been replaced BEFORE it has broken down and put aluminium oxide into the cylinders.
I found out the hard way...VW fault which ended up costing me just shy of £29k and 2 years of failed fixes before it was eventually fixed. Long story...
I went for LWB this time, which meant I can have the 3 person bench seat in the van and it still fits the barrow behind without taking the handles off (that's the Fox barrow in there, I need to get a powered barrow at some point)
I made the racking to fit in there (ply slotted together into rabbets and then screwed, with some aluminium trim to help stop wear and tear)
Unfortunately the rods don't quite fit in behind the bench seat, hence the pine cross member I put in there the other week. Rods can go in and out of the way rather than leaning them on the van or laying them in the mud whilst I sort barrow....they rest on the bench seat and then I slide them back a bit so the butts rest on that pine.

Have a look at Yoke Vans they do some really cool stuff for Tools and Fishing gear. They done Dovey's van and it looked the absolute part. Nice chaps too !
