Just seen that Tony from Premier baits is retiring and that's the end of premier , had some great baits off him over the years. Bet most off the lads who have fished years have had a fishmeal or 2 off him. Superaminos was my favourite.

That's a shame. Premier baits are part of Carp fishing history. More than definately in some way responsible for the huge gain in fish weights from the Early 90's onwards. They bought reasonably cheap HNV baits to the masses with there fishmeal high oil content baits..
My favorite was the original fish base mix with fish feed inducing oil with hutchies monster crab flavour.

I use to roll my own as i couldnt afford readymades in bulk. great bait the matrix i had loads of fish on it when i got back into fishing around 2000/01.

Aminos then Supermarinnos with salmon liver and kipper for me, like a bait on roids when they introduced their fish goo, their original L030, the proper thick stuff. Large dose of that please

A friend of mine used the matrix for a long time too and caught from everywhere on it. All proper fish catchers and rolled to perfection every time, delivered fresh to the door and perfectly boiled, a soft squeeze could break them, just how I like my baits

Yes thanks Tony, had some great sessions on the tweaked matrix, he would even keep your recipe for use at later dates. Good both home and abroad.

Aminos with 10% robin red, tuna, n-butyric and salmon oil. That was a winner Tony put me on.
Real shame it seems they're wrapping things up, as they must be one of the longest running bait firms around with plenty of classics.

I am retiring, mostly, sorry.
The time has come to start taking it easy, so I am not taking anymore boilie orders. I am still making base mix, pops n stuff, so if you want, I can supply all the bits for you to make your own.
I am genuinely very sorry to all the customers who have been relying on me since the start of time, Prem time that is. But the day had to come, thanks for all the orders over the years.
There are many aspects of the job that I will miss, it can be very satisfying sorting people out, and I count myself very lucky that I have had a job that I could enjoy, most of the time.
I am probably not going to miss the physical work, of which there have been loads, having shifted a few kilo's over the years.
To do a decent bait job you need to give a f*ck, but then giving a f*ck it weighs on you a bit, and if you've done it since 1986 there probably comes a time to stop and for me its now.

Got to admire that. The bait game is full of people who don't give a ****. Sad but true. The bait game needs regulating in some way. Making sure what you pay for is what you get.

Ive been using premier baits for over 20 years.
Tony and premeir will be missed by many i am sure.
I'm down to my last 15kg's of Tun up, and will have to start looking for a suitable replacement.
Sadly i dont have the option of rolling my own, as bait making has been banned in my house for over 20 years by the Mrs..

I've got to admit I'm gutted by the news, I've used basically the same bait since 1995 with just a small update in the last 5 or so years, it's rinsed every water I've used it on.
