Well that was a bit daft wasnt it - congratulations on purchasing a new set of tonka toys!
Anyone confused with the new delks shouldnt really be using alarms in the first place - suggest you start again and get the swing tip rods out for a bit

I have used delks for over 20 years and i had nightmare with the new delks.
Sent back 2 and gave them the benefit of doubt but then even one of the replacements was faulty. and they had to send another one.
I also sent them a message on the returns about how i was disappointed and gutted to be moving to the fox RX+ and had a call back which was very abrupt to say the least from them telling me nothing was wrong...
Friends have had similar problems so i can be the only one.

Fox alarms, where every year you get conned into buying the latest model, cos the version before is just no good anymore...

Wolf icon qi and hubb are as adjustable as delkim and have drop back differential and feel more robust. They are also made in the UK and if you register them you get an extra year's warranty so four years. I've not owned all the alarms like some but have and still own nev's, used rx digitals for years which my son has and I replaced with rx + which were replaced by the icons. Had txi's but suffered water ingress so sold them. Not prepared to recommend the wold icons as they are new and only time will tell how reliable they are long term but they may be the best I've owned. Solid build, dials big enough for cold hands even though heads can be adjusted from hub. So far I'm very happy with them and wouldn't swap for anything else on the market.

Guy fishing next to me a few weeks back had a head stop working.He was lucky it was in the day and he had a 3rd alarm with him(2 rod limit on water).I know all alarms can have issues but he was not very happy at all

Been a couple of issues reported on the owners forum, one sorted via messaging through forum other returned, forum is global and they seem to have sold well in Europe. Time is the only true test and as you say all can have faults, know the rx+ and txid haven't been faultless.

I tried the new delks, really tried to get on with them but after the last disaster session, no indication and fish had moved the rig 25m plus sold them on. Upgraded to att and only got the rx+'s as a mate won a set so I got them cheap.
Att crystals in green are just awesome IMO.

There are various factors that could have affected your indication. Weight and type of indicator, sensitivity settings on the alarm, line lay etc.
If delkims didnt sense the movement, no way a roller wheel alarm will have

That is simply incorrect , a kiting fish on a tight line taking or dropping back very slightly will register on a roller whereas I've had the same problem a few times with Delks not registering as mentioned, they simply do not register on a very very slow line movement, try it

Yeah it is that when I was 14 and lived just for fishing. Candle in a jam jar, and watching a star light on a float until I fell unconscious. Slept on the bank under a 45" umbrella . Thank God things have moved on since then. I certainly couldn't do it now.

It's been mentioned a lot over the years on here , a few others have had similar findings I used to have them set as high a sensitivity as possible

I have watched takes on a roller wheel buzzer where the indicator did not move, and the buzzer stayed silent. The fish moved in a perfect arc with a semi-fixed lead.
I've seen it happen with Optonics, with 2 and 4 blade vanes, Fox Microns and Gardner TLB's.
The answer if possible, is to come away from semi-fixed leads and go to running leads with a slack line.
And yes, even Delkims can have the same problem if there is constant vibration on the line from undertow, current and you have had to drop the sensitivity to counter that.

I would say that was pretty standard then for a lot of waters. Try and find one now without carp in!, in some form or another anyway!

Sounds more like user error. If the bobbin is matched to the scenario it takes little movement to register on a delkim.
Feeding fish on a spot causes liners / indication so I can't see a rig being moved a matter off meters and not indicate.
Specially if using a heavy lead as you find they tend to bolt when hooked.

Totally agree with your comments Goose. I've had Txid and Rx+ and prefer the Wolf to both. Ive had them since they were released and used them in all weathers home and abroad. Faultless.

At the end of the day they are all superb alarms and you wont go wrong with any of them. All of them do everything you could ever want from a bite alarm.
