There's a bloke on fleabay selling 3D copies for a fraction of that one, if people want to part with that sort of money for the spoon they need a check up from the neck up!!

Original Aqua collapseable bait bucket went for £128 this week. Wasn't even the more desireable Union Jack badged kit, albeit the earlier blue label.

Sold my mint orange solar baiting needle with spare needle inside etc for £45 plus P&P on faceache, that bought ne a sack of pellets and maize which i needed. The baiting needle was just sitting in my spare tackle bag at home so mot missed

I gave mine away. Then bought something better. Antiques are interesting and fun. Not necessarily the best thing for the job today. If people want to collect antiques and pay an unrealistic amount for them then go for it.as P.T Barnum said " There is a sucker born every minute".

Been watching a few things lately on eBay that went for crazy money, I was watching a fox camolite low level carryall it went for £88 with £7 postage you can get them brand new for £80/£85 with free postage then I was watching some jag black stage stands and 2 bank sticks was interested until they got upto around the £90 mark they went for £105 in the end 😲 it seems to have all gone a little crazy

Bought an Aqua Fast and Light groundsheet in October for £50, sold it the other week for £130 when i bought a new brolly. Just ‘cos everywhere's out of stock and people down want to wait. Saw a unused one go for £180+. Madness!

And quite a few new and updated items aren't as good as older items.
My Cobra Ace stick is still going strong, and has outlasted a couple of mates carbon sticks.
Quite amusing seeing one disintegrate, literally, in his hands. He had been careful to replace it in the 'drainpipe' after every use. My Cobra just gets put in my holdall, or even thrown inside the bivvy after use.

Longevity aside. I know which I would prefer to use for a long period.
If someone wants to use old tackle then good luck to them.
I would rather use the best I can afford out of what is available. If that best is second hand tackle then so be it. Newest doesn't always mean best. However without innovation. We would still be using catgut for fishing line.

I bid for 4 TFG padded rod sleeves and they sold for absolute crazy money, a couple of years ago I purchased the TFG Quiver & 5 Rod sleeves from Total Fishing, I paid £39.99 + p&p but had an accident in our laundry and knocked a tin of paint over and ruined 3 of the sleeves and though I was desperate to get hold of some sleeves, when the bidding got to £60 with 3 days still to go I gave up

I made just over £500 selling old Solar crap on eBay - interesting that two of the buyers simply put the stuff they'd bought off me straight back on eBay for even more than they paid me. The market for ss3000s always gets me. You could buy 5 or 6 black tournaments brand new for the price of 3 really mint ones, or an equal number with complete bearing upgrades and spare spools.

Probably about 3/4 years ago on a day ticket mixed commercial I used to get stares at my gear from younger kids as they walked past. At the time I was using my old Solar gear, sod with front tri post, central ext bar, quiverlocs and other associated solar fixings. I thought at the time they were probably just curious as to what old tat the old fart was using ....little did I know they were probably lustful looks
