Diabolical company and will never purchase anything else from them.Still 6 months down the line i cannot get a spare pole for my snapped front hide xl.I cant remember where i bought it i think it was online and every tackle shop say nash wont do anything without purchase information.Thing is i am willing to pay its a major part that does break quite frequently .I have tried and tried and every time its because nash are unwilling to help.Their spares department wont even try to help at first they ignored emails then wouldnt help when i rang them .To quote exactly i get told they have non and havent a clue when they will and to contact my dealer.I just want to pay for a new pole not after a freebie. What a differnce to tracker when i bust my tempest they were brilliant.Nash will not get another penny from me and have now bought a tempest 100t.

Sounds very frustrating...not good ..

I learnt in the 90s though ,bought a Slippery eel mk1 Titan, was so pleased with this new generation of shelter at the time ..a lot of money as well..

Until...

The material shrank, yes, shrank, which meant I couldn't set it up .Phoned Kevin himself,'oh it was the way I set it up'..but agreed to send the cover back, minus the frame, when it returned after a few weeks all that had been done was the webbing had been extended on the ribs..

Vowing never again to purchase another Nash product..

However...lol,I have the 2plus1 sleeves for ages, and the they are good ......

I weakened...🤔

Doesn't exist...... as you have found out. Would not buy anything from Nash due to my experiences after buying an original titan in 1992. Seems like matters haven't improved in almost 30 years.

Me too I don't need to ring Nash customer service as I wouldn't buy anything Nash after like a lot of other people at the time all the tape seems came off my titan and my oval profile brolly in the 90s customer service was very poor then was told to stick it back on as said no change after all these years

Nice to see its not only me who won't touch the brand.I had a member of Nash customer service being rude and abusive over the phone, have not used their gear since.I also have not used the shop who charged me a 10% restocking charge, they said there was nothing wrong with the shelter I had returned. It was funny when the next customer who bought it found the exact same issue

Hardly had any issues with their gear over the years. The times I did need customer support, they were there for me in a very professional manner. In turn, I've had numerous issues with Fox that have never been dealt with in a professional nor respectful manner. I suppose at the end of the day a lot of it boils down to (bad) luck.

Only purchased one Nash item ever and that was an oval brolly.

Fell apart in 6 months but managed to get a credit note from the tackle shop once I quoted the Sales of goods act 1974.

Would never consider buying anything Nash again. Not even Scope rods.

I remember when nash started he brought out the happy hooker range and the brolly over wrap it was good gear but there was very little competition nash had a good reputation at that time we where using course tackle 45 inch nylon brollys Argos beds army bags ect he is responsible for great inventions over the years but lack quality and overpriced and so many say that the customer service is bad

I had a similar experience years ago with Fox. It amazes me these companies with this sort of customer service are still in business. When I snapped the elastic in my Angling Intelligence bivvy poles Mark delivered a whole set of them to the lake I was fishing at himself and yet AI are no longer about and Nash and Fox are huge. I just don't understand how they stay in business...

Nothing has changed then

Not owned a molecule of Nash Gear/bait for near on 20 years, I remember giving that dammed Titan I had a full blown “Viking Funeral “ after being tortured by Chinese water torture all f'in night, drip, drip ,drip ..................... I smoked the odd cigar back then and remember a mate coming running up to me as I was having a true “Hamlet moment” sat on a dry stone wall near my swim, were a pile of branches had been piled up for burning - along with the Titan on top going up in smoke – utter bliss

Agreed...

One night,it rained hard,I was under my mk1 straightbar Titan, with alloy unpainted poles version,so not a drop of water came in...so why am I mentioning this....?

Well, the rain hitting on the outside, made the condensation ,come off on the inside which soaked everything, so it's weird saying the bivvy was waterproof, but leaked at the same time,..

'Designed to front mother nature and win'...!

Gave mine away ,and bought a cypry dome,I'm still threading those poles as we speak..literally 😄

Never had a problem. My first dealings with them were in the 90's when I put a hole through my Titan.
After a phone call on the following Monday morning, I had it in the post by lunchtime, and it was at my door when I got home on Wednesday, repaired, free of charge.

Sent some hooks back as they had a problem, and received a batch load in return post. Had the same problem with some Fox hooks and Fox didn't even acknowledge me after several attempts.

Only this year, I had a problem with a cluple of clips on a rucksack. Had it replaced within a week.

They can't be that mad for the majority or they wouldnt have been in business for so long. It's just unfortunate somebody has got to be the unlucky one

I didn't know this was a poll?

Anyway, usually people that had negative experiences tend to be more vocal and 95% of carp gear is cheaply made and overpriced

I bought one of the early Nash Indulgence 5 Season Sleep System SS3
and one day packing up in a hurry as it had started to rain I was a bit heavy handed and when I folded it I bent the bars of the frame !
I phoned them and explained honestly what had happened it was Kevin that answered as he has a easily recognised voice he took down my details and said they had a demo bedchair they would strip and send me the bars as they did not have any spares at the moment a couple of days later a set of bars arrived

Had enough going to bin it if anyone wants it they can pick it up they can have it as selling the wrap and zip on front grounsheet and poles i have enough going on without being pissed about by a poor company .When i rang tracker the instant reply was no problem where do you want the pole sending .Spent about 2 mins on the phone and most of that was giving address and card details.Broke the tempest twice the first time they replaced no questions asked foc.The second time i paid as i told them it was my fault

I think as anglers we expect way too much from these companies direct. Some are happy to help, but im not sure others should be criticised for not dealing directly with the public.

If you have an issue with a pair of trainers, you dont go direct to nike or adidas (other brands are available), you go to point of sale. Im sure of you went direct to the manufacturer, they would ignore you.

Im not sure you can blame nash for you not remembering the point of sale. Have you searched your emails. Maybe try a local tackle shop with a nash account and see if they are able to help you out.

I dont buy nash, before anyone suggests im a fanboy, there is nothing they do that i cant find a better alternative from elsewhere.

One suggestion is to maybe stop breaking stuff, then you wont have to replace it

Adidas have a superb customer service as alot of big names now have their own websites to order from.Gymshark are another, great customer service but their gear is junk,Castore fantastic product and so is their service.Alot of the time the manufacturer is willing to go above and beyond so you buy their products again,Nash it seems don't give a F.F

Ive used Nash for over 15 years owning literally most of their gear and in that time only had to use their customer service twice. Both times they have been more then helpful.

Once when out of frustration i snapped an s7 bivvy pole due to it sticking in the wet. Called them up and even though my fault and by that time they didnt have any spares anymore as bivvy was retired they got me a pole cut to required size and sent it to me free of charge and I only had to cover the postage.

2nd item was my mf60 bedchair the leg foot snapped due to the feet not being straight and a sticky release button. They send me 2 x total feet systems free of charge

Every single manufacturer will have good and bad experiences. Like me with fox wont touch them ever again as everything I have ever owned of theirs breaks and their customer service dont even acknowledge you

I think a lot of it is down to how the companies have changed their business models over the years.

Initially companies like Nash and Fox made their own items in UK . Cliff Fox started with bedchairs from his metal shelving business and Nash with his slings and sacks knocked out by his girlfriend. As the companies expanded and increased their range out of their initial starting lineup it required more outsourcing and eventually outsourced to China.

This was the big as change as they went from being manufacturers to suppliers. If you manufacture something yourself in your own workshop/factories you have pride in it and will strive to ensure it functions well and provide good aftersales. If it's manufactured in China, in vast bulk you are removed from the actual process once the R&D phase is finished so are just interested in supply, shipping, new overseas emerging markets, maximum units sold, profit margins and how to limit your tax burden. Unfortunately with a large pool of customers out there buying the stuff you are not their number one concern.

Occasionally they get a scare like when said Chinese company starts selling the same items direct more cheaply but this tends to subside when same Chinese company gets greedy and realises it can ramp up the prices to match Nash and Fox etc.

As for you and your shodddily stitched bivvy with broken poles - they are more concerned with the 20,000 bivvys on the dockside at Felixestow than your single bivvy which they have already got the money for. Until people walk away from them and their profits substantially drop from this (not COVID or worldwide shortages related but customer rejection) they will continue to treat you the in same way.

While I understand the OP's frustrations -

Your contract is with the retailer not the manufacturer - so your issue is with them so your frustration should be directed at them, accordingly any assistance you receive from Nash is a bonus in my eyes - the reality is they probably have no stock anywhere

I have had issues with Trakker - I had a broken XL Tempest (discontinued) pole and was unable to source the part - Johnson Ross refunded me after correspondence with both parties as it wasnt my fault but it took time and I went through JR's to resolve it

Additionally I had a faulty Delkim I took it up direct as thats where my warranty was

The facts are that EVERY manufacturer is struggling with stock especially anyone importing from the far east and thats fundamentally where your issue lies - personally I would speak to the retailer and try and source a replacement of some sort

Good luck

I've bought three ovals the original profile oval extreme and the hog all been decent they did sort my profile out and reseamed it having owned it for 5 years lasted me around ten. My extreme is 17 years old and my Hog is 8.

I have a Titan which I didn't need but like it a lot.

Not the best with customer service I'd agree, deal with a decent tackle shop and things get sorted.

So, you got an answer right? Doesn't sound like they're unwilling to help. There's currently a shortage of goods and issues with global shipping and distribution, unloading, etcetera. There's people that paid £50.000 for a new boat or car and they have to wait for months, sometimes even more than a year. I myself am waiting for a bivvy to finally arrive for more than a year now. Bummer, but what can you do?

Yes what brilliant customer service first I get we have none and don't know when we will get any then 6 months later I get told we are getting them in march .This for a product prone to breaking by the sound of it .Well in my book that's pathetic and not good enough .Their customer service is **** and no amount of making excuses for them by bum lickers changes that fact

If only nash knew magic and could make these things appear out of nowhere eh

Shame you didnt search your emails when it happened, to find out where you bought it from and return it. Rather than complaining on here 9 months later, about a company experiencing delays on parts due to issues affecting the whole planet.

I buy my new gear from 3 sources. 2 are good local tackle shops who know me and I know them. If they have gear in stock that's where I buy it. For bigger and or more expensive specialist gear that the small shops cannot afford to stock I use the Tackle Box at Dartford(not always the cheapest but definitely the best as far as I am concerned)
If I have a problem with a purchase, which we all do from time to time, I go to the outlet I bought it from. They deal with it first time, everytime. The big companies are not set up to deal with individual customer complaints and I agree are not very good at it.
A good retailer who cares about your business is the charm.

What makes you say "it's prone to breaking"? I've got both sizes of the Hide and know a few other owners that fish regularly and none of use have suffered a broken pole.
Obviously not saying it doesn't happen, but "prone"?
