anyone seen the exhibitors list for this year,just seen dna baits arnt going, as far as I'm aware NAS are keeping it very quiet as to who is and who isn't going....got a bad feeling about the show this year with covid etc and company's not commiting

Stock issues seem to be on the mend for most companies don't they? I was in Cheam Angling earlier, relatively small independent and they were stuffed to the gunnels with gear.

Some companies are doing OK,Shimano no stock arriving until March/April,Daiwa is May,Aqua are looking at March time too.They reckon it's going to be like this for a while,China are on a reduced working week

Out of those, cc moores.dna. sticky. trakker. Are all booked for Essex carp show, march 26-27.
We have only lost 2 major exhibitors from our previous normal line up and gained quite a few we don't normally have. We will be releasing our floorplan next week, earlier than normal because for 1 we are pretty much fully booked and we are expecting many anglers to be disappointed with what's on offer elsewhere

Maybe your stand prices are lower, and essex might be more accessible for some companies, maybe there's less overheads on hotels etc. So less of a risk. Having worked at NAS the last two years it was a bit of an eye opener on what you need to take to turn a profit.

yep,exhibitors been released...only big names is nash and jag..the rest is through other tackle shops like vale royal.. loads of ****ty stands...worse than the first year this one.

This is very disappointing compared to previous years. Il still attend but I'm not looking forward to it half as much as I was.

That's actually an improvement on what I was told a couple of weeks ago. At that point there wasn't apparently going to be ridgemonkey, solar or cc moores. So I'm guessing there's either been a last minute change of heart there or some serious arm twisting.
Considering that it's thousands of pounds outlay to attend. I'd be surprised if many companies break even. I hope I'm wrong cos I absolutely love this show, but I fear with an exhibitor list like that then the footfall will be well down. Such a shame for the organisers who had really built that up into a really great weekend event. Who knows with event city being demolished, maybe a new venue next year, maybe even the NEC could revitalise it.

Yeah I feel the same. I think it took me three hours to drive there the first time I went. In all honesty I'd probably see what I wanted to from that exhibitor list in less than two hours. Six hour round trip seems a bit excessive for that. I hope that next year it's back to its best and I will probably book a hotel and go for the weekend.

Pretty disappointed with the lineup . I'll still go because I enjoy the day out but I'm not particularly excited about it
I'd rather just go fishing. Same for all the shows to be honest. Never got the interest.

Not actually seen the exhibitors list. But in there defence I'd imagine they weren't even sure this would be aloud to go ahead until recently. All probably very last minute.com for a lot of the stands. Maybe a lot of big names couldnt manage at such short notice.
Still going to be rammed though. People have been clucking for over two years now to spend there hard earned on nothing they really actually need..

Not this year no. Going to the big one instead. Hopefully next year they'll have a new venue, a full exhibitors list and I will make a weekend of it.

I'm driving up from Oxford this afternoon and going tomorrow while my missus and daughter go shopping. Not been before and was expecting good things. Shame not all the big names will be there but it will be a day out anyway.

Drove over to the show for 9am this morning and came straight home. The amount of people and size of the Q,s to get in we're insane!
Must say I've never done the NAS so can't compare to previous years but the crowds were like being at a football match.

Anytime I've been we've just paid, the massive queue was always for folk that's pre paid.
We used to just walk straight in past them at the door and wait inside for paying queue. 1st time was a bit of an disagreement because one guy was saying we had to wait until all pre paid entered which we then seen another guy ( by now they was a good few folk waiting to just pay) and explained it was a piss take cos folk just kept joining back of that queue which he then went inside, came back and said follow me and took us to the paying queue section

The show on the other hand was pretty poor in comparison to previous years. A lot of dead space and few exhibitors didn't show up.
The content of the stands was also limited. Vale royal for example took 0 fox terminal tackle with them and there were plenty of other examples.
I think it was only really worth while going for a few bait deals - I actually struggled to spend money for a change !

I see alot of the exhibitors on social media saying it was mental and of you're going tomorrow you should get there early...its almost like they're trying to drum up business, from what I've heard from alot of people it's been very poor

It was really busy to be honest but the stalls are poor. The food hall is as big as the stalls them self.

Who is making the killing here, sounds like the organisers to me. Not sure how much it costs but surely it's based on the venue price divided by stall numbers and then a bit of profit plus gate receipts?
If I had a stall there is no way on earth I would pay anything near that ffs, ridiculous

I just popped on to nash's Facebook page to see what their stand looks like at the nas and not even a mention of the show on their fb page.
usually they're all over it and footage from the day and what's on the stand but nothing thus year which is weird.

At £15 entry on Saturday and £11.55p entry today, it's not hard to see why people are staying away.
No way would I pay that to walk round a half empty tackle shop.

I thought the show wasn't as good as previous years however it kind of depends on why you would like to attend.
For me it's about getting to look at and potentially buy products I don't see at the tackle shops I visit....which are mainly all the same one but in different towns if you get my meaning.
So yesterday I saw and purchased the carplife tufty torch....looks great...if it works...if it doesn't money back guarantee.
Wolf Mozzy zapper with case.
A plastic needle for pushing through PVA bags off PB products...and also 3 of their rod lockers.
Some pre spliced leaders off rig marole.
So the actual show was fine for me...however...the food was an absolute piss take price wise.
Will I go again next year...more than likely as it helps me get my mind set back into actually getting out fishing again as we draw to the close of winter

To be honest, I have thought Nash's social media in general has been pisspoor in comparison to most in recent years. If it wasn't for urban/eurobanx I don't think they would have the foothold that they do,

Yea they had people on stage at different times, I really enjoyed listening to the Frank Warwick one, that was the highlight for me. I was surprised a few companies weren't there I expected to see Fox, either way I still enjoyed it.

Yet another reason to never go north of Watford 
With event city due to be bulldozed unless they can find another venue then who knows this might be the last one. Which would be a real shame as the show before covid was in my opinion the best show I've ever been to. I never went to zwolle but obviously I know that's next level. But even they've lost their venue and are moving to another town.

I got there about 10.30am yesterday, walked straight in, no queues in pre paid or pay on the door.
It was packed out inside, loads of people. I had a good look around, bought a few bits and listend to the Scott LLyod talk. Was good to see the Hide & Hide XL next to each other, shame there wasn'ta range of Tempests and the only Fox Frontier I saw was on Mark Pitchers stand.
Burger, Chips and drink was £12.50 I think. Not cheap but to be fair the burger was pretty good.
I can't imagine for a minute the regular stands are £16k, especially the small ones. I saw online one of the guys selling leads had sold 3000 on Saturday, they are at most £1 each depening on how many you buy. Can you imagine him being there if he's paying £8k a day for a stand?

I'd imagine you are somewhat confused, you don't pay for stands at shows you pay for floor space. Added to the floor space cost is the cost of the stand on it (this will include design and build).
If you want to chase it all the way to the bottom right hand corner you need to factor in the manning cost including accommodation and food etc.
There is no way any fishing show in the UK is getting away with £16k just for floor space.

Most the shows include a stand in the price. Especially as they organise it like a grid. You can take your own branding etc with you, OR if someone like Korda or nash that has a standalone big area you've already got it all covered etc.
When we do the carp society one it's the stand, trestle tables, you need to tell them what outlets you require for example kettles / demos, tge contracted lighting firm will contact you to see what strip lights you want etc.
You definately do on the smaller side pay for the stand.
Everything costs money, if I bring three lads to staff it I need to buy them exhibitor passes, hotels etc
The final cost of the show isn't just these collected fees it's behind the scenes stuff as well.
I can't speak for the shops who use them to move stock but as a company -
What you gain is people seeing the quality of your product in person, and the ability to interact with people, the sales are secondary.

A friend once told me he sold just under a tonne of bait, which isn't a lot to fair for that show but he sold six tonnes of pellets, about three tones of ground bait and just under a thousand pre packed items like glugs, pop ups etc.
