Got back into fishing approx one year ago and absolutely loving it. Looking for a decent banksticks set up with buzz bars. Looking at the Jag prolite or excavator sticks? Are they worth the money or are there just as good for cheaper?? Also what lengths should I get?

They hold a rod or buzz bar like the cheaper ones

Have a look at Interlok buzzbars and banksticks, they're quite reasonably priced and people say that they will outlast you. Also very lightweight.
In terms of size, it's down to personal preference really. The current "fashion" is to have rods really close together (i.e. narrow buzzbars) mounted on short and stubby banksticks. Me personally I prefer functionality over looks, so wide buzzbars and long banksticks.

Had a lot of cheaper options then I decided to get jag gear, I won't use anything else now I rate it very highly and yes in my opinion it definitely is worth the extra money

I've got both Jag prolite and solar stainless, but only use the Jag stuff now.
Not because it's any better than the solar stuff it just weighs about 20kg lighter 🤣
Joking aside the solar stuff is probably 20 odd years old, built to last and will out live me.
For sizes I have 6, 8, 12in sticks which also fit my Jag pod, the solar are 12's and that covers me for everything

Interlok bank sticks are superb as are Defiiant MPS and Chris Brown Products.

Take a look at the Korda Singlez. Can mount up to £350 for a 3 rod set up. Made by Jag so your getting quality, just extra tax for the Korda name. But I like how small the set is. Especially when moving pegs. Although there a lot cheaper alternatives out there.

I remember years ago I went into Danson angling(don't bother) to buy some storm sticks. They tried to sell me some Nash stainless ones powder coated in green. They weighed a bloody ton. I bought some Aluminium ones by Fox weighed about 25% of the Nash ones and do the job perfectly.

don't ignore steve neville and matrix stainless products. Yeah sure they aren't as fancy looking as JAG but in my mind, they look 100 times nicer for it.
maybe grab some second hand stainless off ebay?
i use either 12 or 16 inch banksticks for all my fishing. depends on how hard the ground is haha.

Defiant MPS Titanium are my choice. You can have them made to custom spec from better material for less money. It's an absolute no brainer imo

Keith @ MPS made me a set of titanium sticks in the wider 5/8" diameter (the dia. he uses for his storm poles). I've always found even a very slightly wider bank stick is miles more stable and less prone to spinning than the usual standard 1/2".
They're the best sticks I've owned. Awesome gear.

Summit Tackle D Bit banksticks are also worth a look.
I had Steve Nevill stainless years ago and it was bullet proof. I'm looking at the Matrix Rock Solids at the moment. I do keep going back to the defiant website and looking at the fantail as I like the idea of being able to point the rods at where you're fishing. Was thinking of asking Keith to supply an extra Cross bar for when I want it to be more of a conventional pod. Only thing putting me off is he's probably going to be busy due to popularity so will be months waiting.
I do like the look of jag 2 plus 1 and korda singlez but the price total is off putting. Not saying its not worth it but my budget won't go that far.
