Has anyone on here got the XL? Looking at getting a Bushwacker but can't decide on the regular one or the XL. Is there any difference in the way it handles in the water compared to the original. I've never owned one, so hedging my bets on whether to just get the XL.

Thinking of getting a couple of pairs of polarised sunglasses whilst the offers are on and need some advice please.
I've been looking at yhe Oakley Split Shots and wanted to get a pair for general use on sunny days along with another pair for low light/cloudy overcast/dusk time. I always found grey or darker brown lenses geat for general purpose on brighter days and Amber lenses for low light/overcast days. Went into Sunglasses Hut and they didn't have many to try on and when searching the Oakley website they don't specify which lenses cover the conditions I'm after.
Has anyone got any advise or knowledge of which lenses I'd need please.

Sorry mate. Not been on here for a while as going through a messy separation. Yes, I've ordered the kit from BCUK only because IMHO the batteries are better. I've had LiPo's before and they are more hassle than it's worth. The one's that Global provide are the soft packs which are even worse for getting damaged. If they Haddon the LiFo batteries I would have gone with them. Unfortunately Mitch has been inundated with work so is behind on his orders but he's taken on 2 extra staff members for future orders. I've been told mine should be here by the end of the month.
I believe Global and BCUK are both excellent companies to order from. It was purely down to battery choice for me.

I spoke with Matt last week about a kit for my MK6 power porter and he can do it. You need to fill out the order form and he needs the width between the forks and the length of the forks.
I've been trying to decide between Global Angling and BCUK. BCUK is within 28 days. Global say they have everything in stock so a few days. I'm not sure who makes the better kit though. One thing I don't like about the battery choice from Global is that the lighter batteries are LiPo which can puff up if not carefully treated and can catch fire. LiPo are normally only good for a couple of hundred cycles. BCUK use Lifepo4 which are pretty much maintenence free and good for 2000 cycles. They also stand less chance of memory issues if drained past 80% so more trips before needing charging.
BCUK want £520 for the kit including batteries and Global Angling want £470.

Going to be getting these for my son's barrow at that price.
What batteries did you get with the energizer kits Gerry? I'm toying with getting the kit for my barrow but I have some doubts over the LiPo batteries. If you don't look after them they can puff and be dangerous. Had LiPo's for RC cars in the past and even when looked after (I had a balance charger and the batteries were Turnigy, so good quality). I appreciate that they are lighter than the lead one's but just not sure whether fishing barrows are appropriate use of this type of battery.

Not too much water. I drained off and bottled up the juice from cooking the hemp as didn't really want to waste it. My maize I cooked about 1.5kg dry weight with a cup of himalayan rock salt in it. Once I mix everything up hemp, chicken peas, maples, crushed tigers and maize) I was contemplating adding some rock salt and leaving it to soak in for a few days before I add some hot chorizo compound and feedstim xp.

Can anyone recommend how much Himalayan Rock Salt should be added per kg of particles please. Would 50g per dry kg weight be enough or too much. Also, will the salt help make the mix PVA friendly?

Some of them are yes. You also have to factor in that I'm just getting back into it and Anthony knows most of the waters that I intend to fish and made suggestions on what would be more suitable for me. Opinions are like ********s, everyone has one. I trust Anthony after dealing with him on and off for around 25 years. The other thing to take into account is that carp anglers as in any hobby/sport will want the latest/best gear that they can afford, even if there is no real benefit (I include myself in that bracket at times as probably we all do if we are being honest). I specifically asked Anthony to recommend a rod that would last me for some while, that would cover most of my options. I retire in 3 years and intend to get another set of rods as a treat out of my lump sum. I may not neccessarily need them but it won't mean that I won't reward myself for doing 30 years in my job.

I got the 5 rod holdall in camo off marketplace for £50. The guy had only used it once so was immaculate. Got it for my son as I'm using the Trakker 6 rod holdall. Have to say, the Speero stuff looks very well made. Why would you sell it.

I've just got back into carp fishing and went back to Johnson Ross Tackle as I wanted a set made by Vic again. Afetr chatting with Anthony and trying a variety of blanks in the shop I went with the Torrix at 3.25lb. Anthony reckons that these will cater for 90% of my fishing in the UK and be more than suitable for overseas aswell. If Vic wasn't available (I think he's 72 now) I'd definitely go with Kev Clayton as apart from being a cracking rod builder, he's a bloody nice chap.
