Just wondering if any of the Tackle shops offer any decent deals immediately after Boxing Day or from New Years Day. Managed to save up a fair amount to go spoil myself but wondered if there's any deals to make the wonga go a bit further. Looking for deals on Bivvies, Reels, Rod Pod or Buzz Bars and a set of RX+ 3 Rod set up with receiver.

I've got a blue light card that gives me a further 15% off at Go Outdoors and 10% off at Fishing Republic. I was hoping that they would have the Trakker Tempest 100 Aquatexx EV in at some point but they only have the 150. I missed out on getting the Fox RX+ 3 plus 1 set for £500 and don't think they will be getting them back in stock.

I saw that Future Fishing have them for £600 but the images (especially the box) looks like it could be second hand. I'll call them Monday or Tuesday. Cheapest I've found them online is Poingdestres with yhe 10% discount and Angling direct again with the 10% discount.

Phoned Angling Direct and the price matched Hull Angling for the discount on the Trakker Tempest 100 Aquatexx EV and the Social Cap so I got a credit note for the £52 difference and they also price matched for me on the Fox RX+ 3 alarms plus receiver set from Total Fishing Tackle of £543.99.
Got to say, I know some people criticise AD but that's good customer service and this way, if I get any problems I can take it back to a local store.

I got Angling Direct to price match. Figured if anything went wrong with them i can take them direct to a store to sort out. Should have bought them from Go Outdoors when they had them though as could have got them for £500.

I called them about the RX+ 3 rod set. Best they were prepared to go was matching Total Fishing Tackle so after all the hype from forum members I was quite disappointed.

It all depends how quickly they need to sell off what they have in stock. Some of these shops order on credit and at some point need to settle outstanding bills for orders. I'm happy with the £543 I paid. Could have got them for £490 at Go Outdoors a few months ago but stupidly thought they'd still be in stock so didn't snap them up. Big mistake by me.

Tempest 100 Bivvy arrived today along with the social cap. Put the whole thing up in my living room and on standing back to observe it, I've noticed that the bloody poles weren't set out even either side. On closer inspection, one side of the poles where they slowt in is bent too far at the elbow (causing a crease) so I'll be telephoning AD in the morning to arrange a replacement as it definitely wasn't done when putting it all together.
Whatsmore, the delivery company just dumped it on my doorstep as I was out. I actually recieved some other bits from AD on the same delivery and opted to have the item dropped off at my neighbour next door so don't understand why they would only give him one package and leave a £750 bivvy, £350 Social Cap and £600 Fox RX+ set on my bloody doorstep. I'll be mentioning that to AD in the morning too.

Obviously it would 'even' out when everything is 'pegged in' provided that both sides of the social cap support bars are identical. Unfortunately, one side of the bars supporting the social cap has a very clear 'creased' fault in the elbow in comparison to the slight 'intended' bend on the opposite elbow.

I don't think you should need to peg a shelter out to un-bend a piece of metal, surely it should just not be creased in the first place.
Can only assume that you have misinterpreted what he was explaining and think that he was referring to a crease in the fabric.

I've dealt with them a couple of times over the last two days. At store level they were dreadful but customer service on the phone were brilliant.
Unfortunately, some delivery people have a mind of their own and they appear to lack any sort of basic initiative.
I had a mobile phone delivery threw over the garden gate at 10:30pm while it was peeing it down with rain. Dog brought it in next morning and the box was just a mush of cardboard!

We phoned up to ask when we'd expect our new parasol and John Lewis said it had already been delivered. After seeing we hadn't signed for one, they sent out a replacement. 3 weeks later I was sorting out some junk at the back of our garage and found a sodden box. They bloody delivery driver had obviously slung it over the fence (probably because we weren't in) and failed to leave a note of where he'd put it.

I bought a new levelite chair and it had labels which had been powder coated over on the legs. Honestly I struggle to understand how some peoples brains work sometimes.

No problem mate, I just wouldn't go on an open forum and post how much money I've spent recently. Didn't you do just under 2k with one of the big tackle firms last week? I could imagine a few tech savvy scum bags could track you down from your name and location and relieve you of your nice new bivvy.

Appreciate the concern mate but if anyone on here was scumbag enough to do that, there are far more members with better gear than I've got so a higher incentive to have a pop at tracking them down first. If they did try me, then they'd have to go for one hell of a scrap before even having a sniff this time of having it, and then face the consequences of being handed over to plod afterwards.
