What do you guys do after you've been out in the pouring rain for 30 mins landing a fish etc. I mean when your lucky enough to have put your waterproofs on. Do you take them off and try and dry them in your bivvy or just sit soaking wet in your chair or even on your bed. Just wondered what others do when the weathers bad and you have to go out in it?

The very reason I only use a poncho for that scenario, throw it on in seconds, take it off and leave near the door when wet.
Can't stand all the messing about with trousers/jackets, espesh on a longer session.

I'm the same as Vossy, I have a poncho i throw over my head quickly if i need to be out in the rain.
If i had waterproofs, it would depend on whether i thought i had the chance of more fish or not. If i knew there was the chance of more fish, a big shoal like Linear where they dont tend to spook if one gets caught and you can keep a shoal in front of you, I would sit out in the chair maybe under a peak and wait for a bit.
If i caught a couple and knew that was it for an hour or so i would go inside and dry off and leave my waterproofs near the door. Same for winter if you know bite time is specific and has been and gone, i would try to dry everything off.

Microfiber towels fold up to a tiny ball and weigh next to nothing (when dry)
Clothing from outdoorsy shops tends to dry quickly, and having a spare micro fleece and pair of shorts is again light and compact and saves being uncomfortable.
Waterproofs that are actually waterproof is the biggest thing, so you can just shake them off, rather than poor quality ones that become waterlogged and take an age to dry out

Portwest sealtex classic coverall is all you'll ever need. Even keep it on with just a pair of shorts and t shirt underneath.
I always set my rods and landing net up etc. inside my bivvy, just for that reason. No chance of getting wet then. Sit there and reel em in.

Nights, leave it rolled up outside the bivvy or push it under the front of your groundsheet. If it's really windy just inside the door with the groundsheet pulled back, wellies and jacket ready to go. Pending where you are fishing and if it's not too windy I always leave a lot of stuff hung on the trees, mats, slings, nets, jacket etc.
Add winter wrap, job done, push all the wet gear down one side of the skin

Tried that and got arrested 7 out of the last 8 sessions but got away with the one session as I forgot I left my jock strap on luckily

If it's summer rain then shorts and t shirt . Sod the rain. Your arms and legs are easier to dry than a load of waterproof clothes.

It's a gortex shell that goes over my other clothes. just push it under the front to hold it, like I said, if it's windy or pissing it down it goes inside

No looking for nothing, wellies on, step out of the tent, pull the jacket out and put it on, can't see what your mystified about, cheap gortex off EBay
Leave my wellies outside most of the time unless the weather is really bad, push the tops inside the Velcro door panel of my bivvy

Soon as it's imminent that rain is ready to drop just reel the rods in and get comfy in the sleepsystem and enjoy a catch up of over due sleep totally guilt free dossing time, when the sun pops out rods back out....simples😎😴😉

Magnetic bivvy hook for waterproofs - if its tipping usually keep overtrousers on but shake out jacket and hang out between excursions outside the bivvy. . .as others have said if its DWR is decent it should be dry within 10mins.
Always wash and retreat DWR regularly, esp over trousers. They always get covered in oil / grease / bait residue / dip / mud and therefore 'wet out' quicker than other items. Same with your jacket - if you've lifted several kippers and its slime covered its water proofing /breathable qualities will be compromised . . .as well as smelling like an ageing hookers punani . . .

I take a small Nepalese man with me for this very occasion. He's used to climbing Everest so a bit of wind and rain, even snow doesn't deter him. He lands the fish then I get out of my sleeping back when it's stopped raining, have the full English breakfast that he's made me and pose for photo's.
He's also so used to lugging heavy gear that I can do away with the barrow completely.
Being Nepalese he folds down very small and is easy to store in the boot with the rest of the gear. I used to have a Fijian one but although excellent at the heavy lifting, he didn't like the rain and wasn't as compact as the Nepalese version.
Highly recommended.

Yes I've heard about men like you that like going away fishing and sharing activities with small Nepalese men. Takes all sorts I suppose but what ever floats your boat and all that what happens at night in the bivvy stays in the bivvy. Don't you come knocking when the bivvys rocking now will yer

I'm hanging in absolute shame here. I can't even get my perfectly positioned slip on shoes on when the rods going in the night, even in winter.

Nash have missed a trick here the runway shelter, covers the route to your rods giving you cover and time to sling a waterproof jacket on and even incorporate hooks for hanging said coat on to dry outside of bivvy 😂

A spare t-shirt and combat trousers are in my rucksack just in case I get wet through and cold.
If it is warm, my combat trousers tend to dry fairly quickly anyway.
I do have a waterproof jacket in the bivvy if it does tip it down though, have used it a few times this year, more for fish spotting and walking round the lake.

So there's a bloke from South Yorkshire hiding his soiled underwear under his groundsheet.
Theres another bloke who's syndicate doubles up as a nudist camp.
Another bloke's pegging the washing out in a one man, the nudist spends his time in welly's trying not to talk to the kids.
