Venture tackle had some awesome products - what happened to them ?
I had there light weight summer sleeping bag, which was truly out standing. Wish I could buy another or 2.
They were big at one time but then seemingly, disappeared ?

Didn't they have a shelter which looked like it could be a winner but in the end was plagued with build quality issues?
I've still got my Razorback, great shelter :-)
Sold my Razorback with front extension wish I never was a good bivvy for the longer sessions.

odd, how a successful brand, once bought out then disappears. Everyone raves about the Razorback and several of there other product range. Clearly there was a market for there stuff ?!
I wish I could buy another of there summer sleeping bags, they were literally the prefect summer bag.

There's a great chapter in Simon Crow's book about the Venture saga. It's a great read. They lasted two years but other jobs, family, set backs and a whole other bunch of things led them to close the company and sell the name to Sam Anderson.
The Razorback and their retainer sling were brilliant and they had a whole bunch of other things in line that they could never bring to fruition.

i got a budget venture bedchair from there 5 or 6 years ago and its still going
no frills and works, they did an oval bedchair which was slightly differently shaped as i recall.
and they did a fluro?

I wish I never sold my AI gear. I drove from Kent to Harwich, twice, to buy a blokes full set up of AI bedchair, brolly system (even better than the Stealth which was bomb proof itself) then had his rod bag, bits bags, rucksack retainer sling etc. Bless the bloke, he waited for me to get paid to then collect the second lot. He ended up with a few hundred quid in his pocket and I ended up with a load of gear that lasted me years without fault.
I may be wrong, but I'm sure AI were the first to bring out a "roving" rucksack that opened up fully into three separate sections. This must have been late 2000's yet some are bringing it out as a new idea...
Two companies which alongside the old Lockey gear and useless Hutchy flavours will fetch a lot of money on ebay for years to come.

The AI brolly was a fantastic bit of kit, on the long side when packed down but great coverage and build quality.

The AI brolly is my current brolly. Well built, and waterproof. Got a sleeping bag over liner of there's, great quality. Shame they disappeared

AI used to sell their gear each year cheap at the Farnham car boot sale. Think they morphed into Colnemere Developments, who have also disappeared.

I liked the ai stuff too. Still got a couple of the retainers for back up . To be fair the bedchair wasn't too bad I had off them either . Came with a bag. Sold that for 50 quid with the bag should of kept that too

I've actually replaced the rod bag twice with other brands but they haven't been of the same quality
The bivvy was great but I got fed up trying to source replacement poles.
The only poor kit I got from them was the folding retainers, kept having zips fail after a few uses

Their original floating retainer was a game changer albeit having a major fault in that it, the originals did not have zips, thus I lost a decent common that made a bid for freedom and burst through the velcro top

Still use the AI bivvy brolly as a day/summer shelter. Poles recently replaced and re waterproofed so hopefully get another decade out of it.
Nothing I've found (currently) on the market gets anywhere near its lightness and ease of getting up in small swims.
That stalker ruck used to be great, over the shoulder or on your back.
They were an innovative bunch back then
