I still got Alan Young,and Tim Paisley and Mary,at birch grove,knocking around somewhere,cant think of the big guy,with black hair and a tash,I'll try and find it..theres also another with fred j Taylor in as well..

Glad he mentioned Gerry Savage,as I fished with him..(love him or hate him),on a lake I still visit today....he wrote an article with his mate at the time ,called the Cornwall years or similar...its in River reads based in Torrington,Devon..if it's still there...

My mantra from then,til now...is L.P.....B..location,presentation and ....bait..I have LP.B..in SS on the bottom of my landing net..

Gerry was the modern instigator of modern,winter carp fishing,so I listened to what he told me...


Another,vid I have long lost is the one my uncle did on Orchid,on his way to 100 20s,and some 30s...before they got Sky lakes in France..

vhs.... now theres a blast from the past, btw I still have 2 vhs recorders god knows why, I never use them.

I still have a video player, got them km videos for xmas many moons ago, also got videos of ashleigh pool with John baker, the netting of fox pool, floater fishing with Chris ball, another video with Chris ball of him on wraysbury, the end result from richworth, red mire legends and a few more.its all up in the loft.

fished it nearly every week in the late 80's early 90's, as well as the fishing it was like a social gathering, and when you had a take within what seemed like seconds there was a group behind you waiting to see what you caught, haven't been there for a very long time, if I'm ever in the area I will pay a visit.

Had several good chats with John Lilly about carp fishing way back in 1990. When he was a site foreman in Hereford. Couple years later seen him in carp mags/books with Tim paisley. Wish I'd listened to him about a certain big carp that lived in Wye at the time...
