Hi Nic

Ended up in a cake making shop with my mum a couple of years ago when I was visiting. They had a whole section on flavours, liquids and essences.
No shop near me so I'm buying online options are endless, currently doing quite well on peach and salted caramel chick peas and it's working out about £2.50 for 2 kilos once prepped

Best

Tesco hemp oil is £6/500ml at the moment. In the recent sale BAF Baits was cheaper than this so I stocked up on a couple of litres whilst getting some other bits and bobs

it can slightly soften pva as its the salt that makes it pva friendly, I use it to thin out other thick liquids to fit in a. syringe, its also brilliant as a soak on fishmeal freebies

Squid brand fish sauce on pellets then dusted with a powder is a winner

Maggi seasoning is apparently a 'secret' favorite of someone very well known, particularly when used with maize...

Maggi is watered down hydro wheat plus MSG, salt and sugar. BAF (or DNA) hydro wheat is a lot stronger and you can add MSG, salt and sugar if you want but as its not watered down you don't really need to add these unless you think more is better

I'm yet to be convinced that there are anything better than yeast and sugar.

Have had my best ever years using yeast extract and syrup, and had many years wasted in between, using scientific formulated potions marketed by #teammembers.

A bit of mother nature added to both the above, and they become different league compared to any other additive which markets itself as being "instant action".

One thing I did use in the past was Olbas Oil. A drop or two on a single floater used to fool many a cyprinid that were in the upper layers on some really brisk mornings.

I don't if this isn't the case in the UK but in Europe maggi Nr3 also contains E631, what is according to white papers a very good feeding stimulant.

The one I'd really like to find is Minamino. Years ago we used to buy it from Boots chemist, I think I even bought a version that was strawberry flavoured. Haven't seen it for years without the carp tax though.

You are right, this is what Tesco list as in Maggi

Hydrolysed Vegetable Protein (Water, Wheat Protein, Salt), Water, Flavourings (with Wheat), Flavour Enhancers (Monosodium Glutamate, Disodium Inosinate), Salt, Sugar

I missed the Disodium Inosinate in it. I add a mixture of MSG, Disodium Inosinate (E631) and Disodium Guanylate (E627) to my bait glugs...I can't remember which product it was but Rod Hutchinson used to really rate this mix of all 3 in one of his mixes.

So far I am undecided on adding the E631 and E627 but I now have enough for 4kg of my MSG mix which will last me a few years with the small amount of bait I make these days! I don't have enough hours in my life to try every combination possible so as he rated it I am happy to use it without too much testing (although my pond fish are drawn to the MSG mix at lower levels then MSG on its own).

Another vote for coconut milk. Soak your tiger nut boilies in it for that little bit of an edge.

Ribena undiluted cordial too in the summer.... especially on lakes with overhanging blackberry bushes

Groats are good. Quick, easy and cheap.

The spider spod/wolf x spod with the magnets you can spod out pure liquid with minimal spillage if you really wanted too. Wouldn't work for thinner liquids but the more viscous ones will create a nice ploom.

Freezing the liquid in an ice cube tray to then put out works, especially as the water warms up as you get a constant leakage in the area. I'm sure carp would try and eat them though.

Have you never drifted frozen liquids over your swim when zig fishing?

I thought it was a given they'd float? It's ice after all. The leakage happens from top downwards. Thicker the liquid the lower in the water column the attraction will sink. Obviously not great on windy days.

You did say thinner, then immediately mention freezing the liquids, not unreasonable to assume you're talking about an alternative method of delivering the liquids you previously mentioned.

However your follow up zig comment makes me think you either don't know what you're talking about, or joking

On that logic you'd also assume I was using groats and neat liquid in the spod device wouldnt you? Because of the full stop and line break meaning nothing. For a self declared intelligent guy, you clearly don't know basic English text structure which is hilarious tbh.

No I didn't. I said it doesn't really work well with thinner liquids. I then offered another method not linked to any viscosity of liquid, not an alternative for thinner liquids. Just as spodding neat liquid wasn't an alternative to using groats as a carrier, it was just another method.

I know you find it hard to admit your wrong, but you were, very clearly wrong. I don't expect you to hold your hands up, it's not in your personality to do it as evidence widely on the forum. I'm literally telling you how it was written, because I wrote it, so I would know. You, having read it, without using basic English, cannot tell the author what they were saying Even your self importance can't stretch that far can it?

I don't think you're out to do anything other than start arguments, you offered a different delivery method after stating one wasn't appropriate for thinner liquids. Most would see that as offering an alternative. Now wind it 😆

Haven't edited anything. I knew you'd try claim that one though as you're so up yourself, ask a mod if you're so sure it was. It'll be hilarious to see you put in your place once again.
It's funny how what you think isn't correct but you can't accept it and will try and claim anything to not be wrong. Well you were. Obviously.
Only one out here for arguments is you. I told you that you were wrong in your post and instead of saying okay and leaving it your out here trying to be right when you're just not.

Also, don't tell me what to do, who do you think you are?? Wait, you think you're someone special with your self importance. Sorry to have to tell you this, you aint, you're a clapped out pillock who thinks spouting copy and paste from scientific papers makes them special. You don't know better than everyone else, you clearly know a lot less. Crawl back to your hole, the real world seems to be too much for you to handle.

IF I was copy and pasting from science papers you could copy what I post and reverse search it.

The fact that the information stays with me after reading it and adding it to memory? Im sorry should I forget things after reading?

Ask anyone who's used my bait, they can assure you I know what I'm doing.

I do wonder where your Agressive streak comes from, its not at all unreasonable for someone to see you finish one paragraph with the assertion you cannot spod thinner liquids out, and starting the next one with freezing liquids, to be related.

You literally said that I said to freeze thinner liquids when I didn't. I corrected you and you couldn't accept it. When you're telling someone they're wrong when they aren't I'm pretty sure they won't be happy about it. Bit like you getting all defensive when I've called you out for being a copy and paste merchant (fyi reading the abstract doesn't mean you really know anything about paper, you've got to read the entire thing and even then it's still subjective)

Why don't you “wind it in” and F off. You were wrong in what you said, you were corrected on it, if only you'd been man enough to acknowledge that but you couldn't. Really shows your mentality doesn't it. Not sure why you think you can tell people what to do and not expect an earful either

You really are an @rse. You have no idea how much time I dedicate to research.

You made a stupid post about ice cubes right after excluding spombing as viable for thinner liquids, anyone would suggest the two were connected.

You called me out as a copy and paste merchant with no evidence, no reverse search on anything I've written etc. its sad really.

Anyhow, at work, so talk to someone else (Y)

Not enough because you read an article and take it as gospel clearly.

Why was it stupid? I never said they'd sink, you assumed I said that because you didn't read it properly. Same as you assumed I was on about thin liquids wrongly too. Not my fault you were wrong and can't cope with me calling you out on that is it. You're the one with a fragile ego that cries when they're wrong instead of owning it and holding your hands up to it.

I'll cal you a copy and paste merchant till the cows come home. Whether I'm right or wrong. Because it's exactly what you're doing to me and what I posted. You don't like it happening to you but you're happy to do it to others. Again, shows your mentality doesn't it, pathetic.

Once again, trying to tell others what to do like you're some kind of relevant to them. Get a grip, you're a nobody and that'll never change.

You assume I'm trying to be somebody lol. I'm just enjoying my job and trying ot help people, you've never come on here for that purpose.

As for meaning for the ice cubes to float, the slightest drift will take them away from the area.

Its absolutely not the same, Im saying it'd be reasonable for anyone to assume two paragraphs about liquid in one response, one after the other, could be related. I've accepted it might not, but to act like its totally unreasonable to make that assumption is a joke. where as you just want to call me a copy and paste merchant without actually taking the reasonable step to assert whether or not its true.

read an article and take it as gospel? I'm not sure what you mean, but when dealing with data, I process it for what it is, and apply it where relevant to me. pretty simple.

Fast coming to the conclusion you're one of the previously banned saddos on a different account.

Lad, I told you your assumption was wrong. You couldn't accept that. Which is where this all stems from.

You said I said something I didn't say, you put 2 and 2 together and got 639. I corrected you and you told me I was wrong
Had you held you hands up and owned your mistake it'd have been done and dusted, but you didn't did you. You refused to believe you could be wrong and made it something it never had to be. You then tried to tell me what to do like you have some sort of authority? It'll never go down well with anyone. Let alone when it's some numpty with a bait firm that just slags off everyone else that sells more than him

I'm not the first person on here you've rubbed up the wrong way because you can't handle being wrong or challenged am I. Your mentality and personality shines through that fragile ego and we can all see you for who you are.
