I am going to be purchasing 3 Delkim Txi d alarms and receiver and have looked around and seen the standard price that they are advertised for... any help with discounts etc that are available?

spot on mate,not going off enough but they won't in the shed while I'm in work !!!!
when I have used them theyre spot on,took a little while to set up how I want them but I think I've sussed it now with the right beep speed and just alter the sensitivity to the conditions accordingly.

They are brilliant buddy you won't regret it, I really like mine they come ready to sue out the box if you wanted to. I'll admit I've customised mine to what I want (beep speed and stuff like that) it doesn't take that long really and you only need to do it once because your custom settings are all saved

Mine haven't missed a trick, Ive left them on standard setting since day one and just adjust the sensitivity accordingly, also receiver is a massive improvement on the old one no more cracking and I tested the range on mine (rods were out of the water) and it worked the whole way round my 6 acre lake

Unfortunately already having issues with one of mine after only two months use and extremely disappointing so i think thats the end of delkims for me as sick and tired of sending them back for constant issues and repairs.
Been an avid user for over 20 years but the new ones are no better than the old with consistent use in bad weather....ive got grit stuck in the front buttons that you use to turn them on which having looked now seems like that could happen anytime and the sensitivity after use in a few heavy rain storms has changed massively.
Really disappointing so think its time to move over to the Fox's now.

That's a shame mate I've been out in ALOT of heavy rain and storms last few months and had them since day one, they have never even missed a beat and never had a problem still like brand new

Brilliant. A year old on Black Friday weekend and have been perfect. Even the service is brilliant. Damaged a case on a savage take with braid mainline. Actually cut into the housing somehow.
£17.50 to have a complete new case fitted and sealed and returned in less than 4 days 👍🏻

I've had a single light stay on after a wet session, removed the battery dried and all seems ok now. I've also had the receiver light up when switching on my Ridgemonkey vault.
Not great from a firm that specialises in alarms.

I no of plenty people who have had to send stuff back to fox or Nash, with rubbish service from them took absolutely ages getting there stuff back. Could say the same thing but with **** customer service all I was saying was how good delkim customer service is.
In my experience jag/ century also have brilliant customer service and it doesn't mean they have plenty of practice either

Fox have absolutely laughable customer service so its lucky that their alarms appear to be really reliable
Nash have both terrible products and service imo
A recent trip to france and 2 days of relentless heavy rain saw 2 failures on the new delkims from my group and 5 i think of the old ones. Funnily enough the only set of delkims that didnt fail at all was a set of 10 year old ones that were absolutely faultless in toilet conditions
I sold my older delkims for fox rx+'s and im really impressed with them, but to be fair i never had any issues with the delks after changing the battery covers to snag ear ones. I use zigs a lot so i prefer the vibration sensing on the delkims but it looks like they havent quite nailed it yet

Completely agree with that mate like I said I no plenty of people who have had to deal with fox and Nash customer service with horrible experiences, I've had to get my old r3s sorted by Nash was a nightmare from the start I won't even go into that haha was one of the reasons I sold them in the end because I didn't want to have to go through them trying to sort it out again if something went wrong again

What has any other brand got to do with it, the thread is about delkim, fact is the company has been producing the same product for a very long time and has after many years modified it but it would appear some customers have had issues which were apparent in the older model.

It does seem like these new delkims are getting quite a few faults,another thread has just been started with another issue with rain.I was close to getting the new alarms but don't think I will bother

Unfortunately people have a bias with alarms, as with all tackle, and will jump on any fault they hear in relation to products that rival what they have, and make a mountain out of a mole hill. Ive said it loads of times on here, but the amount of people who have mates that have broken this or snapped that, yet theres very rarely anyone with first hand problems. For the amount of delkims sold, the fault rate is very very low, and the customer service sounds pretty good. Luckily ive not had the need to use them myself.

I've had my txi for years and never had a problem no matter how hard it rains and also a few mates have delks and also never had problems. With the amount delkim sell your bound to get a few lemons

I'm a long time Delkim user, but missed out the TXi plus alarms - I continued to use the mk1 txi's (from new) until around 4 years ago when i switched to Atts (prior to that I had the original Delkims with sounder box leads).

That can't be sniffed at tbh, and lets face it, the biggest test for a company is how they treat you after they have taken your money, which delkim seem to excel at!
People have different preferences for products but nothing is perfect and ultimately it will all break eventually

I had a couple issues with my fox alarms when I first bought them just took them back to shops. But what happens after a year? Can't take them back or get fixed for free like delkim do. Don't underestimate how important after sales care is. 3 year warranty is ridiculous for the industry in this day and age

had my delk txi for around 10 yrs had 2 isssues 1 the reciever wasnt picking the alarms up sent reciever back fixed free of charge
2nd time i had 1 of the alarms eating batteries sent it back fixed and resealed for around £20

Ive only used delks in the 15 odd years fishing and never had a problem with any of them or have had to use their repair service so can't comment.
What I can say though is I lost my belt clip for my receiver. Went on their website for a replacement and you can actually order spare bits free of charge. Even the postage was free.
In my opinion that alone is worth my loyalty to them for as long as i am able to hold a rod in my hands

There is faults mentioned on this thread about screaming alarms,battery drains on the receiver,heads playing up in the rain.There is now another thread about sensitivity on the heads after rain,it just seems there is more issues with these than the older txi.Its ok though as Delkims customer service is superb,shame the same can't be said about their quality control

i was going to get some brand new but bought October 2019 by the seller and never used. I have made a U turn and will keep the rx plus after taking note of threads on here.. or possibly buy brand new from shop so i get the 3 year warranty.

I always said if delkim went digital and sorted out the rubbish receiver on the txi I had that I would go back.I just think I will wait a little longer and see if the faults start getting less frequent

Loads knock nash but I've owned and loved the titan and really like my scopes but I really don't care what others think. Problem is if I ask for opinions of a specific item often you will get mixed opinions so end up looking at the product and making my mind up. Also I have become reluctant to give an opinion on stuff I own incase they buy and get a duff one. Look at the ultra brolly threads and many have said they are trash while others have had no issues and love them.

One thing I will say is the receiver is much better than the old ones, felt like if I was more than 2 metres away then it wouldn't pick it up. That was the reason I got my r3s but the receiver on these are very very good and had no problem with the range or them picking them up

Yeah I get that mate I'll be hoe at I like the Titan (not the hide just because of first hand experience with them) but I do like the more expensive versions just find the quality a lot better. I think every company has there good and bad points I suppose and I do agree with most people will have different opinions on things. I love my tempest but my friend hates them each to there own lol

The alarms having issues in the rain is not really a quality control problem. Its a manufacturing problem that wont be picked up until tue unit is used in the rain. Only alternative would be putting all alarms out under a hose for a few hours and tested before they are sent out, but then theyd all be considered used.
End of the day its taken them 10 years to design these new ones and they haven't sorted out most fundamental error the old ones had which was issues in the rain. You dont buy an alarm to be be setting up at the lake only to find because the last time you used them in rain that they are now playing up each time....its like running the gauntlet each time you wish to go fishing...are they going to work, are they not!

You have got to be the most unlucky person in the world keep sending sets and sets of delks back for repair.
Ive owned 3 sets over 15 years and apart from a discoloured led on one never had a problem nor has any of my friends fishing with them.
If i was you with so many faulty sets would of changed brand long time ago

I can only reiterate post 45. In God knows how many years of Mk1's, Mk2's and now the current model used in all weathers and all seasons the only thing I've ever had to do is change the occasional battery.
They have all been looked after and aired at home after use if it was a wet session which I don't think is unreasonable.

I don't know the numbers but you can be assured it wouldn't be cost affective to release an alarm knowing that they are going to have to have a high % returned to be fixed or replaced.

Exactly, i had 3 sets of pluses, sold them as i fancied a change each time, scratched the itch amd went back, but not once did i need to send any back. And now have the new ones and they are all good aswell. Spent a week a sandhurst where it rained non stop, and all my kit got covered in grit and mud splashing up from the floor. And not a single fault with the alrms them, certainly no grit getting in the buttons. Although my basias didnt suffer with any of the apparent issues either. Perhaps i am just really lucky though.

I think you should read his post again. He has lost count on how many sets he has had to send back to delkim. Bearing in mind we can only assume every adult can count to 10/20 etc I would really hate to know how many sets he has owned. All being faulty 😂
I think you should read his post again. He has lost count on how many sets he has had to send back to delkim. Bearing in mind we can only assume every adult can count to 10/20 etc I would really hate to know how many sets he has owned. All being faulty 😂

Lol same here pal. Been fishing non stop in the rain and everything works as it should. Must be another lucky one as also have a set of basiairs and no issues whatsoever in last 3 years of owning them

I was delkims biggest critic after lots of issues with the last version in wet weather but took the punt on the new ones and havent had a single problem and they have been out in monsoon like conditions.

We are still hearing of more issues with water ingress with these new alarms than we are with other manufacturers alarms.Surely after 10 years of development the water ingress issue should of been the biggest thing to sort out.They have added even more to go wrong before sorting out the basic faults

Are we really hearing that many though, baring in mind people rarely start threads to say they aren't having issues? Perhaps you're just noticing it more because you've been looking at getting a set. All electronic devices have a chance to be faulty due to a manufacturing process. There were numerous people complaint that the buttons on their rx plus came off when they first bought them. Not a problem I personally had. Did I let it put me off buying them? No. Does it mean they are all going to have issues, or the product is rubbish? Nope, just a risk with mass produced products.
I wouldn't let a few reports of issues put you off getting them if it's what you really want. Do what I did and keep the rxs for a over lap while you use the delks for a while, put your mind at rest then sell the foxs. You won't lose any money on them by waiting a while, and in the unfortunate event you get a faulty one, they've had there chance and you can return them

No issues with my txi d's here, even in the rain
Personally I think they are over engineered, if you like all the bells and whistles go buy them but for me I'll stick with the old TXI, people say there is a fault when it could boil down to user related lack of care, how many of us actually wipe and clean their kit after every session we may never know, BTW I've had the old TXI and never a problem, may be just lucky I don't know and to be fair I don't clean my kit after every trip.

I bought my TXIs in 1999 never had a problem.
I don't get the comments about the new ones being over complicated to use, blimey we've mastered our mobile phones.
If I had the cash I'd buy the news ones, let's face it if they were crap they'd be out of business by now surely ?

I bit the bullet and have just received the new digital Delks so far I'm pleased with them. They had ironed out the various limitations of the old pluses such as varied tone relation to tx and have some good functions/controls along with being the smaller more compact design and the battery compartments far more sensible. Looking forward to using them

I got a set of Txi ds during the summer and have to say I'm well pleased so far . Only wish I had gone for 3 greens instead of 3 purples but ha ho .

. . .Bought the offending alarm into the house with the intention of sending it to Dalectronics . . .and like all things that were built properly its magically started to work again! Reckon the heavy rain may have got in via a perished seal and the alarm needed some heat to dry out . .

Do you think your new delks will do twenty years without a problem and not being serviced because I don't. Having said that I do know someone with with an original set that have never let him down but I also know he has only fished probably half a dozen summer day sessions since he got them.

I won some in a raffle recently and think I'll have to end up selling them. Been looking around and the prices seem to hold really well with them so I'd imagine there isn't many discounts available from new. Even slightly second hand ones on Ebay still going for £470+

I have a set of Delkim pluses that where purchased around 2000 that have been fine although I've not touched them for a few years now as they reside in a cupboard so maybe a lack of charge on the caps may be an issue
