I do a lot of very short overnighters.
I use a supa brolly now, but it is to heavy and not very practically.
Have been looking at the lo Pro and the hide. Which of the two would you recommend?

I have the Lo Po. I think it is around 4 kilos with only the pegs. It's long when packed down - 6ft. I think it's a great little brolly for exactly short overnighters. If you peg it low then the sides tight, but if you want to peg it high and sit on a chair under it, then I think it is best to use it with a pair of storm poles - otherwise the sides tend to flap in the wind. That will of course add to the overall weight. Haven't heard bad things about the Hide, but I have no experience with it.

I was considering a low pro but the 6ft length put me off as I carry my rods net and shelter in an unhooking mat. The longer shelter length would make it unbalanced and harder to carry. If I used a quiver i would possibly buy be as they look good.
With the addition of storm poles you are looking at 4kg plus.
My tempest weighs 4kg, packs down smaller, no storm poles required and sometimes no pegs, and is possible more robust and no internal spokes.

Mmm... Thought they were around 3 kilos.
Maybe I should have a closer look at the hide.

Are there any other super light weight brolly/shelters I might have forgotten?

I think the Nash Hide is pretty decent good material etc I'd go for the larger one though. Quite a few use them on my syndicate water.

If light and quick are the priority go for the lo pro.
If strong and stable are the priority go with the tempest brolly.

I've got both and to be honest find the lo pro too low (I am 6ft 2). You can lift it up but not enough for me if I put a bed under it as it needs to spread wide enough to cover the length of the bed if that makes sense
I use the titan hide in the summer and that works well for me, also more compact to carry and better coverage

I've got the original hide since the day it was released, I love it, small, light, extremely quick to put up angel take down my only wish is they do a v2 of the smaller one with, vents and for me it would be perfect

My v2 tempest brolly is 5.2kgs without bag or pegs
Think the low pro is a lot lighter.
My wychwood solace shelter is 3kgs bare but is a right ballache to collapse when the material contracts

Just had a look at the Tempest Brolly - looks good!
5,2 kg thought it was a bit lighter.
Are you happy with it... Any pros or cons?

I just measured it with a tape measure. When loose the circumference is 16-17 inches and when I pull it tight it is 12 inches. It's a tiny bit slimmer than my old Nash 60 inch oval.

@nimbus, it's great if your buying it as a rapid erect bivvy, although pretty expensive if you add the extras
Not really what I class as a lightweight compact shelter though, and I find the front too narrow which impedes the view of the lake, or the rods if you cant have the bivvy behind them.
I find it awkward on the barrow too, it doesn't fit through a lot of gates and bridges on venues when it goes across the barrow and wants to roll off when it goes on top (I don't usually bother with bungees as I don't take much)

I have a hide and a lo pro.
If it is going to be an open lake and blowing a gale then I would take the hide.
Normal winds and conditions would take the lo pro for speed.
Personally I would get a lo pro and a couple of storm poles for very short overnighters.

For a short session like an overnighter I can't fault the tempest brolly V2.
Effortless set up and pack away, light (although the lo pro is lighter, I have no experience of this one), full protection and of course it comes as a system should you require groundsheet (the only extra I have), front/mozzy panel, overwrap etc... These all add weight, of course, but haven't found it to be heavy at all myself.
The only con I have with it is the height, but I'm a little over 6ft. Anyone shorter may have less of an issue and I can still sit up on my bedchair, it's just getting in and out constantly. Wouldn't want to be any taller than myself using it though.

I have the TB V2 and the Lo Pro. I use the Lo Pro everywhere apart from one reservoir that gets completely battered by winds. Then the TB comes out.
When the Hide was released I thought it was a genuine contender in the light brolly market. A close mate got one on release but a pole went in a big wind. It was replaced FOC, and the same happened with the 2nd one. He got a refund and bought a TB. Now maybe he was unlucky as loads of guys rate them on here but for me that is just what I expected from Nash tbh.

I currently use a Lo Pro with a permanent mozzi panel that was added by army Andy. It's great, but as previously stated not the sturdiest of shelters.
Like the look of the Tempest Brolly, but pretty sure you can't pack it away with the mesh attached?

I'm in my Hide XL now, been using it since last summer, packs away fine with the mozzie mesh on, goes back in the original bag no problem

Set your bed up, open hide and place over bed
job done
If your small and nimble the standard hide will be ok
or
if your large and non nimble like me, the XL is a good choice

You can pack the hide away with any of the infill panels attached, I have both and do it regularly

Good choice im still using my v1 tempest now for shorter sessions. I'm under it now with mozzy mesh and skull cap and its been a very reliable shelter the only thing thats ever gone wrong with it in the 4 years ive owned it is the bolts in the block came loose but I caught it just in time.
