Bloody mice have been in the garage and eaten into my brand new Trakker Levelite ELS bed which I have used about 5 times. Somehow there were some red robin pellets stashed in the middle. The sods have gnawed into the actual bed and there is some stuffing out with a small hole. They must have been using it as a nest. How those pellets got there is beyond me - they must have found a few stray ones on the garage floor and stashed them there. It's so annoying as the bed is brand spanking new.
Anyways, I'm after some big plastic containers - big enough to hold a folded up bed-chair etc. Anyone recommend anything?

Don't really see anything for putting in bedchairs etc? Surely you can get long plastic boxes somewhere with lids? I'm struggling to find anything at the mo.

I had an old camp bed chewed a few years ago. I bought some brackets and bolted them to the garage wall and hang my bedchair about 5 foot off the foot, they haven't got to it yet!

I had problems with mouse damage some years ago in my garage .... now I store sleeping bags, clothes, Bait, tackle bags and any thing loose in plastic storage boxes from B M homestores they do large stacking boxes with lids really cheap. the other big stuff I store as high as I can .... I then have 12 mousetraps on the floor which generally trap a couple of mice a month through the colder months. Dont seem to get much trouble through the warmer months.
By stacking the boxes they keep a good tight fit on the lids.

I had a similar problem with mice getting into my garage and chewing through things, most the time just for sake of it not because there was food. (The joys of having a house backing onto a field) I just bought some large rat traps and put a couple of bags of poison down checking them everyday. I got rid of six of them just from the traps. The first week all the poison was eaten then after that they took hardly any. Now I still put the poison down but refresh them every month.

I have the 1200L one but don't put my fishing gear in it but it would suit your purpose i reckon and you can put a padlock on it.

Anyone that owns fishing gear and stores it outside in a garage or shed is in real danger that at some time mice will find a way in now there are lots of precautions that you could take
but there can only be one BEST solution
and it simply is the baited mouse boxes that kill the mice within 24 hours normally and most times next to the box or within a metre

Well a bag of maize had been ripped open and a winter fur lined coat I had had been ripped apart and I noticed mice **** all over the place.
I purchased 2 traps as in The link below (chuffs)and put some peanut butter in them 2 nights later and 4 mice killed 👍
After clearing most of the shed I found 2 nests one in a box on the floor and the other in the ceiling void
How they got up there I don't know.
I threw all 4 mice into the garden so next doors cats can have them but to my surprise a jackdaw flew down picked up the mice and flew away onto a roof and started to eat them,that's why I would never use poison to kill them 👍

First time they've had a go at a bed or chair.
I've had 2 air dry boilie bags destroyed, so now they just hang on a hook airing out.
I'm going to get one Keter plastic storage box and also lay some traps. Had enough of the sods.

Im not sure but as they are so cheap only £10 for 2 boxes
and so I buy new ones every 18 months Im sure they remain effective for a few years though so the old ones I put every where my caravan my loft my 2 sheds etc I have 2 wooden sheds with sacks of hempseed party blend halibut pellets bedchairs landing nets bags of shelf life boiles and have never had any problems with mice damage
once or twice a year I find a dead mouse its always right next to or inside the baited box as this stuff is pretty much instant I box will kill up to 50 mice so for a Tenner that is potentially 100 dead mice
this all started when I moved out of my flat and moved in with a girlfriend she had a big house already furnished of course and double garage and so we put the entire contents of my flat squeezed in there it was stacked to the roof

after around a couple of months or so I went into the garage in the day and saw mouse run across the floor I felt sick !.......as I had a new 3 piece sweet new bed etc I could actually smell the mice piss so I nipped up to the local hardware store and bought ALL his mouse traps half a carrier bag full around 17 I think it was the wooden type
I baited them with all sorts peanut butter, chocolate biscuits ,cheese , chocolate , jam ,honey 48 hours later I had caught 4 !
feeling happy with myself I began pulling stuff out to find the source of the smell as I pulled a rolled up duvet at least 2 mice jumped out !! and it was just one of the places they had made a nest !
I phoned a friend he told me go get yourself some baited mouse boxes from B&Q much better than traps its why pest controllers use them FFS ?
I bought 2 boxes as you know there are 2 in each box so place the 4 baited boxes around near the traps 48 hours later I went into the garage again and found NONE in the traps but picked up 17 dead mice

The shed to my door had a gap underneath it so they could have possibly got in that way,anyhow I've now sealed that up and left a couple of baited traps out so time will tell.
I can't see any other way they can get in as I lined my shed with 15mm ply ages ago,but if they somehow have got in then I will buy the poison traps and just discard them carefully 👍

or a thick bag that will keep out damp smell,i thought abt making a bag out of thick canvas type material but im told it will hold damp smells
trakker do a bag and ive requested they call me but damp penetrates easily imo
so a box would be a better idea i presume

Also been thinking about this for my 'spare' bedchairs - both are already in bedchair bags and on hooks on the wall (off the ground) but the garage can still suffer from condensation / spotting in the cooler months / over winter.
What about one of those vac bags (for storing clothing) like this -

I feel your pain, the same has happened to me. I lost my bed chair, landing net and carryall. Fortunate enough I can keep it indoors now.
As previously suggested a metal bike shed, or the cheaper option of poison.

Get some glue traps online, 100% effective and no rotting bodies left lying around after poisoning. I tried various traps, poisons etc.
